Chapter 79: You became a... paedophile.

"L-Little boy, y-you better not be doing anything weird, o-okay?!"

The moment Leo heard that soft, stammering voice, his entire body stiffened as if struck by lightning. His breath hitched. Whatever thoughts had just flickered through his mind vanished instantly.... drowned beneath a sudden, cold wave of sheer panic.

Without daring to turn his head, Leo slowly reached for the towel hanging just beside him. His fingers trembled slightly as he grabbed it and wrapped it tightly around his waist. His voice cracked as he responded,

"O-Ophis...? What are you doing here...?"

"Huh? I thought we were taking a bath together?" Ophis tilted her head innocently as she stepped directly into the bathtub—without even rinsing off first.

Leo’s face turned ghostly white. "W-Wait, what?!"

Splash...

"Hmm... that feels so good..."

A soft moan escaped Ophis’s lips as she sank deeper into the warm water. Her eyes fluttered closed, her pale skin instantly reacting to the rising heat, tiny goosebumps spreading across her arms. The warm water lapped against her thighs as she relaxed, her voice sweet and dreamy. Her gaze slowly shifted toward Leo, who still stood with his back to her like a statue. f r\eew,eb novel.c(o)(m)

She smirked playfully.

"Oh? What’s this? Getting all shy now? After asking a lady to take a bath with you~?"

She scooped water into her palms and flicked it at him, watching as it splattered across his back. The hot water collided with the lingering cold droplets on his skin, causing him to flinch noticeably.

"Y-You!!"

Leo’s shoulders tensed as he grimaced, still refusing to turn around.

Ophis chuckled softly, clearly amused. Seeing him so flustered lit something wicked in her expression. She leaned lazily against the side of the tub and sighed,

"Relax. I’m wearing clothes, so you don’t need to panic like that."

Leo hesitated for a moment. After a heavy breath, he cautiously turned his head—and froze.

There she was.

Ophis sat partially submerged in the steaming bath, twin strands of her hair clinging to her cheeks. Her petite figure rested calmly in the water, cheeks faintly pink from both heat and shyness.

She wore a simple, fluffy red bikini.

Her eyes... they weren’t just watching him. They were studying him... Like a predator silently analysing prey.

Leo blinked hard and turned back, muttering to himself under his breath, "What the hell is wrong with you...?"

He ran his hand through his damp hair, trying to suppress the rising confusion and irritation.

’Seriously, what is it with girls nowadays? Do they even know what boundaries are anymore?!’

He switched on the cold water again. He didn’t speak. He didn’t look back. He simply tried to act like she wasn’t there—despite her steady gaze burning into his spine.

Behind him, Ophis watched in silence, her expression unreadable. Then she asked, almost absentmindedly,

"Did you... cry earlier?"

Leo’s eyes widened slightly. ’Shit,’ he thought, swallowing hard. His hands paused mid-motion.

Ophis’s voice softened as she continued,

"For us... Champions are nothing more than tools. Replaceable. Disposable. I never expected someone like you to get so worked up... to even shed tears... for one of them."

Leo was silent for a moment. Then, with a faint, almost bitter chuckle, he spoke, his voice low and rough.

"...Pride isn’t just a Champion. Even if that’s what she was born to be, even if it was her job... she was the first person I ever saw worry so much about someone like me. She cared. And for that... I couldn’t see her as just a tool. Not like you all do."

Ophis stared at the back of his head, her face expressionless. After a few seconds, she asked in a curious, calm tone,

"Even though I’m your enemy... you still let me stay here? Aren’t you afraid I might kill you while you’re vulnerable?"

Leo glanced over his shoulder, still scrubbing his hair. His eyes narrowed slightly, but his tone was composed.

"Is there a reason you’d want to kill me right now?"

"..."

Ophis blinked, then shrugged with a faint smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

"We don’t need a reason to kill someone."

Leo smiled softly,

"Maybe... but for some reason, all I see is a little girl who wouldn’t hurt anyone unless she had a good reason."

Ophis blinked again. Her cheeks puffed slightly in a pout. ’Don’t act like you know me...’ she wanted to snap—but the words never came. She just stared at the ripples in the water.

As the silence stretched, Leo struggled to reach a spot on his back. He twisted uncomfortably, failing to get it clean. Ophis noticed.

Without asking, she stood up from the tub and walked toward him, her wet feet softly patting on the floor.

"Lower down, idiot."

"I don’t need help," Leo grumbled, annoyed.

"What, are you embarrassed now? You’re acting like a shy little boy."

She stepped behind him and pressed two fingers against the centre of his back, gently sliding them along his spine—like drawing a line with warm silk.

Leo flinched again, the sensation catching him off guard. His shoulders tensed before he finally gave in, handing her the sponge with a frustrated grunt as he crouched slightly.

Ophis nodded quietly. She took the sponge in her small hands and began to scrub his back, slow and firm. Her fingers moved with surprising gentleness, circling and gliding as the warm lather spread across his skin.

"I don’t know if there are others like you out there... but you better be careful," she said in a low voice. "Keep trusting people like this, and one day... someone’s gonna stab you in the back."

Leo smiled softly. "Will you?"

"..."

She didn’t answer. She simply kept washing his back, not too rough, not too soft—just enough to be felt, enough to linger.

"Looks like I got a little sist—ouch!"

Leo winced sharply as Ophis suddenly scrubbed his back with brutal force.

With a chillingly sweet yet murderous tone, Ophis muttered, "Next time you call me little... you’ll have a real reason to die!!"

Leo gulped, sensing her deadly seriousness. He nodded quickly, ’Yup... looks like I just poked a very sensitive nerve.’

Ophis gave a firm nod of satisfaction as she continued scrubbing his back, though her touch lightened again.

"If anything, I’m your big sister!" she declared proudly.

Leo’s lips twitched. "...Tell me how exactly you’re older than me?"

Ophis smirked, that mischievous glint returning to her eyes."Oh dear... you really don’t know how vampires work, do you? If anything, I’m way older than you think. Much older than I look!"

Leo blinked in genuine surprise and turned his head slightly to glance at her.

"Wait... seriously?"

Ophis nodded solemnly.

"Then how old are you, exactly?"

She scoffed, flipping her damp hair with exaggerated flair.

"It’s rude and a disgrace to ask a lady her age."

Leo sighed, shaking his head.

Yeah... she was definitely bluffing.

No doubt about it.

Typical bratty kids these days—lying through their teeth like it’s an art form.

But as Ophis continued rubbing his back, her eyes subtly followed the curve of his neck, watching the way it moved each time he shifted or breathed.

Her gaze grew more focused. Her lips parted slightly. She hadn’t had fresh blood in quite some time, and something about the way his warm, exposed neck gleamed under the light and the rising heat in the room...

It was calling to her... Seducing her senses.

Her body trembled slightly as an irresistible thirst coiled in her gut. Her lips curled as she leaned closer—

Chomp!

"...Chomp?"

Leo frowned, blinking as a strange tingling sensation crept across his neck. He turned his head—

"WHAT THE HELL?! HOLY SHIT!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

He jumped in shock, eyes wide in horror, and tried to shove her off. But Ophis had already latched onto him like a damn leech, her fangs buried in his neck as she sucked his blood with wild hunger.

"OPHIS!!"

Leo screamed in pain and frustration as he stumbled. His feet slipped on the wet floor, and he crashed backwards. Ophis let out a small grunt as she hit the ground—but even then, her grip didn’t loosen. Her hands clung tightly to his shoulders as if her life depended on it.

Leo barely caught himself and immediately pinned her wrists before she could grab him again. His eyes blazed with a mix of pain, confusion, and fury.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!"

He glared at her, panting.

Ophis’s face flushed bright red as she struggled under him, her small hands pinned and trembling. She squirmed with a flustered expression, unable to meet his gaze.

"I-I couldn’t help it..." she murmured shyly, licking her lips slowly, tasting the blood she had just stolen. Her eyes lingered on his throat again—hungry, unblinking... like she was staring at a gourmet meal.

Leo flinched, a cold shiver running down his spine.

Yup. This girl... was seriously dangerous.

Just then—

Thud...

Both Leo and Ophis froze.

They slowly turned their heads toward the sound, only to find Raphael standing at the doorway, gripping a mop like it was a holy weapon.

Her mouth was slightly open, her wide eyes staring in disbelief at the chaotic scene in front of her.

And then—

Slip...

Leo’s towel chose that exact moment to betray him.

It slid off silently, fluttering to the floor in defeat.

Ophis’s eyes widened as her face went completely red. She instinctively squeezed her eyes shut and turned her head, cheeks burning.

Leo’s expression turned into absolute horror.

"T-This... this is not what it looks like!!"

Raphael stared at him for a long, stunned second... then slowly smiled, the kind of smile that could only be described as spiritually enlightened.

"Please forgive me, brother..." she whispered softly, her grip tightening on the mop.

"...I have failed to raise your son properly..."

She exhaled in disappointment.

"You became a... paedophile."

Leo’s jaw dropped. "WHAT?! NO—THAT’S NOT—"

"HIYAAA!! Divine punishment!!"

Whack!

"Ouch!!"
