Chapter 950: Chapter 583: Return to Blood Horn_2

"This matter arose because of us, thus it’s our undeniable responsibility to eradicate these Koutao Fishmen, but we lack the capability to combat underwater, so, we have no choice but to entrust the cleansing to you, and we will take on the alerting tasks." Gaven took on one part of the mission, "And this time, we only managed to slay the ringleader, and a Death Knight managed to escape."

"Death Knight?" Everyone was shocked upon hearing this, fully aware of the formidable nature of such undead. They never act alone, always summoning numerous undead servants, even to the point of assembling an army.

"Do you know where this group of undead has its lair? What is the origin of that Death Knight? Is there a way to uproot them completely?" Lord Serlemon put forth three questions, as this matter closely related to his own lands.

"Their lair is in the disappearing Siren Valley, in the abandoned Dragon’s Nest of Slarcosta which they have taken over, but this battle has already startled them. They are unlikely to return here, waiting for us to cleanse." Gaven shared the information he held.

The source of the intelligence, naturally, was the wraith of the Necromancer Priest Dilila, as she was slain by the Six-armed Snake Demon. The obtained spirit was merely her wraith, not the True Wraith, and with her stature, it was certain she had prepared means of resurrection.

However, a wraith itself possesses intelligence. Dilila’s prior knowledge was fully known to it, and due to the unique bond between them, it could even perceive some of her future actions. This would become Gaven’s weapon against the Necromancer Priest.

Now the roles of attacker and defender were reversed; the next steps would involve him actively hunting the Necromancer Priest. Even if not bringing her into his ranks, he would send her into the eternal cycle of death, preventing more troubles from arising behind him.

"Siren Valley? Huang Hun Lord?" Lord Serlemon connected the name Siren Valley with the legend of the place immediately upon hearing it.

Gaven confirmed his speculation, "Yes, that Death Knight is the last Lord of Siren Valley, the Huang Hun Lord, transformed. The cultists of the Undying Goddess of Vengeance had promised him revenge. Initially manipulated by those cultists, he targeted us. Now free from their control, he is very likely to turn against his former foes."

The Necromancer Priest Dilila did not choose Siren Valley as their lair without reason; it was filled with centuries-old aura of hatred, the perfect nourishment and weapon for those cultists of the Undying Goddess of Vengeance.

This hatred stemmed not only from the people of Siren Valley who died centuries ago but also from the land that had been heavily ravaged.

Originally, Bow Valley acted ruthlessly to prevent the people fleeing from Siren Valley from returning and rebuilding their homes. They spread salt over all the arable land, turning it into saline soil. Even after a century, many places still bore no vegetation.

Creatures like the Corpse Spider Elves were not simply creations the Undying Goddess of Vengeance could sculpt at will; timing, favorable conditions, and human factors were indispensable.

The Undying Goddess of Vengeance represented timing, the Blood Horns of Siren Valley were the favorable conditions, and the residual hatred of the Revived Corpse Rogan and the young Red Dragon were the human factors.

"Whether or not, we should make a trip to Siren Valley as soon as possible, strike them a fatal blow while they are weak," Grand Inquisitor Valon suggested, "If left unchecked, the longer they operate there, the harder it will be to conquer, not just in Siren Valley, but in Black Prison as well."

These paladins from the Monastery of the Hammer of Justice, as always, were selflessly devoted.

Even if that Death Knight, transformed from the Huang Hun Lord, approaches with holy vengeance, to them, the interests of the living are far more important than the obsessions of the deceased.

These wraiths’ obsessions are often stubborn and extreme; they don’t care about involving many innocents, nor do they abandon their pursuit because their real targets of vengeance might have died a century ago. They direct the spear of vengeance at the descendants of their foes and even take it out on entire groups, such as when the Death Knight declares war on the entire Bow Valley, implementing a policy of extermination, reciprocating everything that happened in Siren Valley.

This is also why the Undying Goddess of Vengeance is categorized among the Evil Gods. The realms of Undead and Vengeance are not exceedingly evil on their own, particularly the realm of Vengeance, which sometimes represents justice, merely by walking a certain path—legal sanctions are deemed representatives of justice.

However, when these two realms combine, they become symbols of extreme evil, creating various twisted forms of vengeance, including the unending cycle of vengeance at Weizemay Manor before cleansing; such situations are rampant in the kingdom of the Undying Goddess of Vengeance.

This endless cycle of vengeance is an infinite torment not just for the targets of vengeance but also for the avengers themselves.

But the Undying Goddess of Vengeance does not care. As long as it glorifies her, gaining more power for herself is all that matters. She does not concern herself with the feelings of the parties involved or whether the process of vengeance has become distorted or altered; these are typical behaviors of such Evil Gods.

"I have once visited the Blood Horn; I can accompany you on a trip there," Gaven offered proactively.
