Chapter 938: Chapter 579 Immortals Fight_2
"You dare!" the Corpse Spider Elf let out an angry roar, stomping its massive corpse-like feet toward the Five-Willow Overstate Full Form as thick as building columns.
The Five-Willow Overstate Full Form absorbed corpses at an alarmingly rapid rate, far surpassing his own collection and fusion speed. If this continued, he wouldn’t be able to snatch even one-fifth of the corpses, with the majority being absorbed by this bizarre tree creature.
What infuriated the Corpse Spider Elf even more was that this peculiar treant was utilizing Shadow Power and wielding the Fine Gold Coffin—all intimately connected to him. More precisely, they were powers stolen from him.
How audacious for this damn bastard to turn around and use the powers stolen from him against himself! Was there anything more shameless in this world?
However, the Corpse Spider Elf’s body was too bloated. Even with eight spider legs, his speed was far from satisfactory. By the time he had lumbered over, the Five-Willow Overstate Full Form had long since dashed far away.
Consequently, he became even more passive and couldn’t collect the one-fifth of the corpses he was originally able to.
Upon realizing the situation, the Corpse Spider Elf swiftly changed tactics. Its eight spider legs propped up, leaving it in place, as its bloated body began to writhe intensely. In the blink of an eye, it shrank visibly smaller, and in the next instant, countless bone bombs the size of human bodies erupted from its form, smashing towards the Five-Willow Overstate Full Form.
The number of bone bombs was staggering—dozens launched at once in saturated, carpet bombing fashion. Although the Five-Willow Overstate Full Form had Dexterity, stacked to the Transcendent level, and with its Transcendant Body, it had a highly adept Evasion ability. Yet, being of giant stature, it had no advantage in this respect. Barely dodging most, it still took hits from five bones in different parts of its body.
Bang!
Upon impact, these bone bombs exploded; they weren’t just packed with kinetic force but filled with highly concentrated Negative Energy that burst violently when agitated, turning the projectiles into explosive bone bombs. The ejected bone fragments swept through everything in the vicinity, causing dreadful secondary damage.
This effect wasn’t very obvious on the Five-Willow Overstate Full Form since it wasn’t a flesh-and-blood entity. Additionally, its Transcendant Body’s Damage Reduction gave it high resistance to such splinter damage. At most, the bone fragments were embedded in its trunk, unlikely to inflict fatal wounds. Instead, the sheer force from the bone bomb impacts caused trouble, pushing it back several steps.
These explosive bone bombs showed extraordinarily lethal force when used against the controlled Koutao Fishmen, sweeping through them decisively. Fishmen within the explosion radius lay down immediately, and if they weren’t dead, they were left with less than half their life.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Once the Corpse Spider Elf commenced its ranged Attack, there was no intention of stopping.
The Attack process also coincided with adjustments to its body. Initially, the exploding bone bombs were forcibly extruded from its body through immense internal pressure. Starting from the second volley, specialized, dark-mouthed channels appeared on its body, all made up of white, skeletal structures.
Blasted from these specialized nozzles, the exploding bone bombs were faster, stronger, and harder to dodge. They grew larger and the attached damage increased, and their surfaces were no longer smooth bone but covered with rugged bone spikes, resembling giant durians.
Clearly, even to the Undying Goddess of Vengeance Chiaranlisha, the Corpse Spider Elf was still an experimental subject. Many aspects were in trial and error phases, constantly being modified amid battle.
Its size dictated that speed wasn’t its forte. Consequently, in combating an opponent like the swift Five-Willow Overstate Full Form, it could only resort to ranged attacks.
Undoubtedly, the approach was exceedingly useful, as the size of Five-Willow Overstate Full Form made it practically impossible to dodge attacks within hundreds of meters.
To the Five-Willow Overstate Full Form, while a single explosive bone bomb wasn’t fatal, the sheer number was overwhelming, and they seemed endless. To exhaust its bone reserve to prevent further ranged attacks was an exercise in futility.
The battle process was a process of Evolution and modification.
This wasn’t only true for the Corpse Spider Elf but also for the Five-Willow Overstate Full Form, for they had a steadfast shield behind them—the Weizemay Manor and the vast amount of Shadow Power it held.
In fact, Gaven had discovered that the large swath of shadows directed by the Five-Willow Overstate Full Form had become an extension of Weizemay Manor. With just a thought, he could summon the True Shadow Brigade that was ready to strike.
But to ordinary people, those formidable True Wraiths were insignificant against the Corpse Spider Elf, especially with the creature containing Divine Nature from the Undying Goddess of Revenge. A slight mishap, and those True Shadow Brigade could potentially be devoured by the enemy, transforming into a part of their combat strength. This included the Six-armed Snake Demon, which Gaven had not rushed to summon.
Nevertheless, he couldn’t just leave such a powerful Shadow Power unused. Its intrinsic characteristics gave it exceptional malleability, typically allowing for a certain degree of combination in response to Gaven’s will. Under the Five-Willow Overstate Full Form, Gaven felt his capability in this aspect had grown even more potent.
