Chapter 929: 576 Chapter Not Unexpected_2

Their True Shadow Legion had already assembled, but not here, rather it was at the Tower of Dominion in Mesnoel, maintaining a balance here that was neither too strong nor too weak.

The repositioning of troops between the two was instantaneous, and there was no difference between assembling here or there; however, tactically, it served to effectively confound the enemy, leading them to underestimate the strength of Weizemay Manor.

Not even the Six-armed Snake Demon had shown itself; only Estelle and Daphne were waiting here, awaiting Gaven. When Lord Serlemon saw that a Dwarves Elf was present, he did not exhibit any extreme emotions. Instead, he even smiled first, nodding to Daphne in greeting.

This unexpectedly piqued Gaven’s curiosity, and he couldn’t help but remark, "Lord seems to have his unique view on Dwarves Elves."

"You mean he does not harbor the same prejudices as other elves or half-elves," Serlemon corrected Gaven’s gentle phrasing, smiling as he responded, "Undoubtedly, most Dwarves Elves are evil, which is both a result of their faith’s guidance and the harsh environments they inhabit. Even if you were to place a group of the most orthodox elves in their living conditions, to grow up, to survive, they too would have to become as selfish, deceitful, and traitorous as them.

But there are always exceptions, and some Dwarves Elves grow to despise and reject that way of life, seeking a brighter, freer existence, with many following the guidance of the Silver Mistress, finding their way back to the surface, and integrating into the lives of their former kin.

For such Dwarves Elves, we should extend our hands in embrace, not rejection, as this alone can dilute the power of that evil mother and son duo, Rose and Velen."

The Silver Mistress mentioned by Serlemon refers to the Lady of the Dark, Elistraee, who is the biological daughter of Queen Spider Rose, and the sister of the Masked Sovereign, Velen.

Back when Queen Spider Rose was still the goddess Arosh, she conspired with her son, Velen, to usurp the supreme dominion over the entire Cedrion Pantheon from her husband, Corellon Larethian. They plotted and schemed against Elistraee, nearly causing her to shoot her own father with an arrow.

After the conspiracy of Rose and Velen was exposed, they were cast down from the God Kingdom into the Abyss by an angered Corellon.

While the Lady of the Dark, Elistraee, swore never to use long-range weapons again, insisting that she, along with her mother and brother, should be exiled together from Alvandor, not for her misfired arrow, but because her kind heart foresaw a need to someday balance the evil of her mother and brother, preserving a glimmer of light and hope for those Dwarves Elves forced to follow their mother and brother and live in exile underground.

Over the years, she had done just that, with her primary followers initially concentrated among the southern Eilistraeean Drow, who are dark-skinned elves often mistaken for Dwarves Elves. However, during the Dark Cataclysm, many of her followers perished, greatly diminishing her influence and allowing Rose, Velen, and Ghaunadaur to markedly increase their sway among the dark elves.

In recent centuries, the Lady of the Dark has attempted to lead those fallen elves back to the sunlight they had long abandoned. This innovative perspective significantly expanded her influence in Felen, encompassing not only the Dwarves Elves but also elves, half-elves, and humans who interact with the Dwarves Elves.

Because when the faith belonging to her began spreading, those evil Dwarves Elves were greatly suppressed. Unlike demons and devils, the evil nature of Dwarves Elves is not inherent; their acquired environment during growth plays a part, but most importantly, it is influenced by the gods they worship.

Even if Serlemon is not a follower of Elistraee, he has certainly been baptized in her teachings.

Hearing this, Gaven was enlightened and smiled in admiration, "Lord’s magnanimity is as vast as the Endless Sea; no wonder you of Deep Forest Valley are claimed to be the most orthodox heirs to Mystorno’s legacy. Since you embrace these repentant Dwarves Elves with open arms, not to mention other benevolent races."

"Duke flatters too much, Mysticorno’s heirs are the Elf Royal Court, not our Deep Forest Valley," Serlemon denied, "We have plenty of time to discuss the philosophy of rule later. It is more important now to determine whether those enemies are indeed targeting you."

"Lord speaks rightly," Gaven amiably agreed, sharing the intelligence he had received from Serlemon with Daphne, asking, "Based on your understanding of the Necromancer Priest, Dilila, could she possibly create such undead?"

Without hesitation, Daphne replied, "If it’s merely Dilila alone, definitely not, but if she could borrow some power from the Undying Goddess of Vengeance, it’s hard to say. In the Abyss, there exists a terrifying undead known as the Death Stalker, capable of absorbing corpses on a battlefield to grow rapidly. I’ve heard Dilila casually mention that the Undying Goddess of Vengeance has always wanted to develop her own weapon of war to bolster her advantage in the Undead Domain."
