Chapter 923: Chapter 574 Black Prison_2
An impenetrable darkness surged over the temporary riverbed, one that could only be explained by an area of darkness formed by magic.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Accompanied by one Daylight Spell after another being hurled down, the profound darkness was torn apart, creating gaps that allowed everyone to see inside clearly.
"What the hell is that?"
"Are these Spider-Transformed Dwarves or just a pile of corpses?"
"Definitely not Spider-Transformed Dwarves, this thing’s size is at least comparable to the Ancient Dragon, possessing an ultra-giant body type. Even if Spider-Transformed Dwarves were under the effects of Enlarge, they wouldn’t become this big."
"Undead, this is an undead being composed of countless corpses."
"Stop it, stop it quickly, don’t let it get close to the Black Prison, no one knows what kind of changes this thing will bring once it enters the Black Prison."
Bathed in the light created by the Daylight Spell and seeing the scene clearly, it directly caused these Sword of the Deep Forest Warriors to feel their vision and spirits greatly contaminated.
The being inside completely shattered their understanding, its mere existence was a desecration of nature itself, let alone the darkness and evil emanating from it as though it were substantive.
The darkness that radiated from it wasn’t intentional; it was inherent, its potency far exceeding that of normal Dark Arts. The Daylight Spell, which normally lasted for minutes, lasted only a few dozen seconds by its side before once again being engulfed by the surging darkness.
The Sword of the Deep Forest Warriors, without hesitation, fired their sharp arrows at that indescribable evil being. Despite the darkness engulfing the target again, the warriors were absolutely confident in their archery, relying on their brief glimpse of insight to accurately predict its current position.
Compared to swordsmanship, archery was what they excelled at. The name Sword of the Deep Forest originally referred to them being the sharp blade of Deep Forest Valley, wielded for its protection, not for their own distinguishing feature.
A volley of arrows fell into the darkness like stones sinking into the sea, with no reaction whatsoever.
The speed of the darkness advanced violently, indicating that the terrifying creature inside had sped up.
"All warriors, fall back, don’t get dragged into the darkness," an aged yet powerful voice came from afar, followed by the chant of a spell, "Solar Flare Burst."
Eighth Circle Spells.
The deadly nemesis of dark creatures and the undead.
A blinding white light silently exploded at the deepest part of the darkness.
The positive energy employed by the Eighth Circle Spell and the Daylight Spell of Four Rings were incomparable.
The rampaging positive energy tore apart over fifty meters of darkness, completely exposing the indescribable being concealed beneath, allowing everyone to witness its full form.
It was a pitch-black entity resembling a female Spider-Transformed Dwarf, but her size was staggering. Just the part visible above the water was enough to rival the Ancient Dragon, not to mention the parts hidden under the water. They had been blind men touching the elephant, seeing only a part of it.
What she possessed was not an integrated body, but rather one all over her with traces of being pieced together, with numerous creatures’ bodies embedded in her own.
The Solar Flare Burst, which should have been deadly to normal undead, was comparatively weak against it because of the opponent’s sheer size.
The terrifying pulse of positive energy indeed stripped several layers of black mist and corpses from it, but it was like an onion comprised of countless bodies, with layer upon layer peeled away, no end in sight. From the opponent’s condition, that one attack didn’t even scratch the surface.
Sometimes, sheer volume holds an absolute advantage.
As the impact from the Solar Flare Burst passed, countless dark mists poured out from its massive body, shrouding it once more, while its run toward the Black Prison reached an extreme pace.
"Fall back, everyone fall back," Master Laurantice didn’t have time to cast another spell and flew away at top speed in the direction farthest from the terrifying being.
The darkness that engulfed the creature was actually sucked into its body voluntarily, just like a person inhaling, and in the next instant, it resembled a porcupine as it shot out black, sharp arrows from its body, purely composed of negative energy.
These arrows were incomparable to those shot by The Deep Forest Valley Warriors; instead of being called arrows, they were more like siege crossbow bolts, thick and long, and the quantity was terrifying. From all around, one could hear the whistling sound of massive black crossbow bolts.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Despite being condensed from negative energy, these giant crossbow bolts were incredibly lethal, even able to break through tree trunks as thick as an adult’s thigh. Several Deep Forest Valley Warriors who couldn’t dodge in time were blown into two sections, and their soul consciousnesses were directly struck from their bodies by the negative energy, visibly corroded by the negative energy on the spot and turned into Undead Spirits Shadows.
The only relief was that these giant bolts weren’t discharged by actual machinery. With a large output, the overall range wasn’t far, only less than a hundred meters. Beyond that, the giant bolts disintegrated back into negative energy, silently following the side of the terrifying creature and turning back into the surrounding darkness.
This terrible existence had no intention of wiping out these Deep Forest Valley Warriors completely; its goal had been clear from the start, to enter the Black Prison. If not for Master Laurantice’s Solar Flare Burst making it too painful, it probably wouldn’t have even bothered to retaliate. The previous counterattack was primarily to repel that powerful mage, with the Deep Forest Valley Warriors simply caught in the crossfire.
