Chapter 893: Chapter 564: The Necromancer’s Treasure_2

True Wraiths and Nightshadows were indeed useful, but their movements, like his own, were confined to the territory radiated by Weizemay Manor. Unless it was a unique situation like the present, there was simply no way to engage them in battle. If he could mass-produce Bone Claws, they would have an additional flexible and mobile force in The Undead Extraordinary Brigade.

"Study it thoroughly and excavate everything that can be excavated," Gaven added uneasily. "Anything overly evil must be reported to me immediately, and you are not allowed to conduct any live experiments."

"I understand, I know where the line is," Daphne had already figured out the man’s thresholds and wouldn’t dare to cross them carelessly.

"That’s good then." Gaven nodded and fixed his gaze on the Magic Wand in Arms’ other hand—a nearly new Necromancer Staff made of ebony wood, one meter eighty long, with a skull embedded at the top and a total of forty-two charges. It had spells like the Terror Spell, Ghoul’s Touch, Necromancer Immobilization Spell, Weakness Spell, Fatigue Wave, and Death Dharma Circle inscribed on it.

Magic Wands and staffs are two important tools for storing spells for Spellcasters, similar in nature to scrolls, but varying in the number of spells they can hold.

A scroll can only store one spell at a time and usually incinerates after casting.

Magic Wands are small sticks ranging from tens of centimeters, mostly made of wood, but there are also ones made of bone, and very few are made of metal, ceramics, or glass. Many have gemstones embedded at one end and the shaft carved with complex runes, storing one Magic spell. Once made, they typically have a capacity of fifty shots, each one capable of casting the spell once.

The most common Magic Wand is the Fireball Magic Wand, which is the most popular equipment in Thacel. Battlefield spellcasters usually carry a Fireball Magic Wand, which allows a third-level Battlefield Mage to cast the Fireball Technique fifty times, enough to last several battles.

Having several dozen Fireball Magic Wands is enough to form an artillery team.

Magic Wands have a limitation: their size is too small to accommodate Runes for spells above Four Rings.

In most cases, Magic Wands cannot be recharged. Once the initially set capacity runs out, they become ordinary sticks.

However, there are exceptions; some Wands made of rarer materials or by special means can automatically draw in Magic to recharge, and these are worth many times more, usually ten times the value of a regular Wand.

A staff is a large-scale Magic Wand, similar in size to a Long Spear, only instead of a spearhead, it has a metal sphere or gemstone, etc., and it can be used as a weapon.

Its large size allows it to hold a significantly higher number of spells—for example, this Necromancer Staff has six spells.

The spells inscribed on the same Staff must be from the same series, powered by the same type of Energy. Healing severe wounds and Weakness Spells will never appear on the same Staff because the former uses Positive Energy, while the latter uses Negative Energy.

This also means that there are relatively few types of staffs available, with only about a dozen varieties. Necromancer Staffs are neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. The one in Arms’ hand is worth about seventy to eighty thousand new but has depreciated to around fifty thousand after using eight charges.

Like Magic Wands, most staffs cannot automatically recharge. When depleted, they become mere sticks of Magic. If there are exceptions, their prices are typically astronomical.

He stowed the staff directly into his backpack as he hadn’t studied Necromancy spells yet. These spells were more control-oriented and could broaden his tactical options.

Then, Gaven pulled open the Portable Dimensional Hole on Arms’ body and couldn’t help but inhale sharply. The Magic Wands inside were not in dozens but bundles, tightly packed filling half of the Dimensional Cave, while the rest of the space was filled with various fragmented Casting Materials.

Could this guy be a hoarder like him, enjoying stockpiling things this much?

With these Wands, he would be able to arm the Conqueror Army, taking their power to the next level.

Due to the sheer number of Wands, it was impossible to estimate their value on the spot, but it could easily amount to several hundred thousand, if not over a million.

"What’s this about?" Gaven asked Daphne and the others as he took out the Crystal Ball Arms had previously shown him.

"This is an Eighth-Ring Soul Locking Technique. Both life and form have been imprisoned within. If you just break the Crystal, the imprisoned person will automatically be freed," Daphne answered. Although she couldn’t cast it, she was well-versed in all things Necromancy, knowing every spell’s name and effect, as it was her bread and butter.

"Isn’t Soul Locking usually done with gemstones?" Gaven had heard about this technique and had a vague understanding.

"Many do prefer using gemstones as the medium for casting, not just for easier success, but also because they’re less likely to be destroyed. At Arms’ level, even a Crystal Ball could be used, and it’s easier to set up traps," Daphne replied.

"I see." Gaven nodded and put the Crystal Ball, containing Grace, back in its place.

Her reputation in Efanso was also terrible. Yeshandalah and Fan Ruina hated her to death. Releasing her now would definitely cause trouble of no small proportion, so it was better to keep her imprisoned like this—as if she were dead.
