Chapter 889: Chapter 563: Winner Takes All
Arms had already given up hope of leaving alive. Ensuring that his Devil Mark successfully returned to Hell for rebirth was already a victory.
Claw Razor Nightshadow slightly spread its wings, raised its claws, leaned forward, and swiftly glided towards the Necromancer. It was unclear whether it was following Arms’s orders or executing Gaven’s Attack command.
"Get back!" Gaven barked.
Just as Claw Razor Nightshadow had dashed forward two steps, it dissolved and dispersed, reverting into Shadow Power. The life and death of these Undead were at his mere thought, let alone summoning and disassembly.
"Hou!" Claw Razor Nightshadow let out a reluctant roar, knowing that this had been its final resistance. Once summoned again, it wouldn’t even be able to muster this capability to resist.
"Then I’ll have to do it myself." Arms sighed helplessly. Bigby’s Clenched Fist, which should have protected him, struck him with a heavy punch, sending him flying towards the still dissipating form of Claw Razor Nightshadow.
Transformed into Nightshadow, the essence of Claw Razor not only remained undulled but had become even sharper—its charging power alone was enough to split his body in two. His head flew off directly.
A blood vortex appeared as expected above Arms’s head, pulling out a phantom soul from his body.
"Thinking of running? No chance." This time, Gaven opened fire without any reservations, directing all the Shadow Power towards the blood vortex.
Just moments before, the Necromancer’s Wish Spell had torn a rift in the Undead Vengeance Realm, allowing the Hell Dimension to sense his presence and open Hell’s Gate to summon his soul.
In other words, without the recent Wish Spell, Hell’s Summoning Gate would not have opened.
But that didn’t mean Gaven would let go easily. He was the kind who would wrestle souls from the Lord of the Abyss; how could he allow the soul of an Evil Beast Spirit to escape?
With Hell’s Summoning Gate opening, Gaven clearly felt that Arms’s situation was unlike the Six-armed Snake Demon’s. The force pulling him was immense, not merely the lure of Hell, but also an additional force tugging at him.
It seemed more like Dimogorgen extending its tentacle-like arms across space to reach him, but this time as a Soul Consciousness.
This involuntary made Gaven remember the origin legends of the Evil Beast Spirits—each had a corresponding powerful Devil in Hell, an extension of their malevolent wills on the Material Plane. Upon death, those Devils would eagerly take back what was originally theirs while also inheriting their legacies.
Undead Vengeance Realm could obstruct the drag of the Hell Mark but couldn’t sever this deep connection.
It was necessary to sever this bond to fully retain it. Realizing this, Gaven called out loud, "Ophelia, Multi-Arm Synergy, send me up."
As he flapped the Red Copper Dragon Wings and surged towards the Six-armed Snake Demon, his right hand already glowed with a brilliant white light—Destroy Evil activated.
Seeing the white light in his hand, the Six-armed Snake Demon knew what Gaven intended. Without thinking, it linked its six swords to form a shield, tilted its body at sixty degrees, and arched its serpentine body.
After Gaven leaped up, he erupted with all his strength, propelling himself like a cannonball shot from a barrel, heading straight for the airborne Hell’s Summoning Gate.
Their cooperation was exceedingly skilled, as if rehearsed countless times.
There seemed to be nothing in the air, yet when Gaven grabbed it, it felt like grasping a tangible substance.
"No." Arms let out a despairing scream. Never since his birth had he felt as desperate as he did at that moment.
He could distinctly feel the threat from the light in his opponent’s hand that could sever the connection with his origin.
When that connection was severed, Hell’s Summoning Gate would also be the moment it closed to him. To speak nothing of rebirth, whether he could continue to exist was itself a question.
Although Rakshasa had an independent consciousness, they were essentially still vassals; never had it been heard that a Rakshasa could exist on its own after disconnecting from their origin.
But the forces of Shadow Power surged from all directions, tightly gripping him and preventing him from quickly returning to Hell. He could only watch helplessly as the opponent grasped the link between him and his origin, shattering it like a glass bottle—and with it, Hell’s Summoning Gate also shattered.
Everyone clearly heard a frantic, enraged howl from the other side, clearly Arms’s origin.
Although Rakshasa were no longer under their control, their Soul Consciousness still belonged to those Devils. They were just temporarily at a Negative Rank, and sooner or later, they would find ways to take them back or turn them completely into tools or puppets on the Material Plane.
Some cunning Devils even struck deals with their own Rakshasa, allowing them to become their spokespersons or soul harvester on the Material Plane. Since they originated from the same source, they shared many common interests; if the origin became stronger, the Rakshasa’s power would also rise.
However, once this connection was severed, it equated to losing that part of the Soul Consciousness and that power permanently, turning the temporary Negative Rank permanent, crucially causing a loss in Soul Consciousness, which would be greatly detrimental to their future growth.
