Chapter 887: Chapter 562: One Wrong Step Leads to Another_2
Vajra Fist was both offensive and defensive, capable of both guarding oneself and launching bombardments.
"Idiotic move," the Six-armed Serpent Demon dismissed the Dead Spirit Sorcerer’s tactic with disdain.
The Legendsry Mage Bigby, who created this Shaping System of magic spells, must have been a pure Mage, with only superficial understanding of close combat. He seemed to think that larger body size and greater strength were the ultimate paths to power.
Below Transcendent level, and even among the lower tiers of the Transcendent, this view wasn’t entirely incorrect. But at the Legendary Rank, because physical constitution began to far surpass that of ordinary people, and with the aid of a plethora of Special Abilities and magic, this notion became shallow and incorrect.
The clash between Bigby’s Clenched Fist and the Six-armed Serpent Demon was clear proof.
Even if the fist carried immense force, it was futile if it couldn’t hit the Six-armed Serpent Demon.
The Six-armed Serpent Demon’s specialty was serpentine sliding combat; it never remained in the same location for more than three seconds. As the Vajra Fist began to gather energy, she had already twisted around to its back.
Though Bigby’s Clenched Fist could attack automatically, it followed a fixed routine, lacking intelligence of its own. With its rigid turns, it was easily outmaneuvered by the Six-armed Serpent Demon, not even having the chance to throw a punch, let alone cause damage.
The widespread spread of Bigby’s spell series, even across different planes, certainly wasn’t as ineffectual as the Serpent Demon thought. These offensive spells included magical locking mechanisms, utilizing surrounding Magic Power to form invisible shackles, trapping the target in place and requiring a contest of physical strength and Constitution to break free, significantly increasing the likelihood of striking the enemy.
The current situation couldn’t be attributed to the weakness of Bigby’s spells but rather to the Six-armed Serpent Demon’s monstrous nature. Whether it was its Attributes or combat style, it utterly countered Bigby’s Vajra Fist, rendering it incapable of exerting its true strength.
Just like the Dead Spirit Sorcerer, as a Quasi-Legendary Mage, he possessed strength that he couldn’t utilize, even the terrifying instant-death area-of-effect spell known as Banshee’s Wail was unusable.
Against living creatures, Negative Energy Spells like the Banshee’s Wail were lethal, capable of instantly taking down a large swath of enemies. However, when used on the Undead, not only were they ineffective, but they also served as restorative spells; all Necromancer System Negative Energy Spells shared this characteristic.
Hence, Mages were a profession heavily reliant on intelligence. If they had thorough knowledge of their enemy’s capabilities and prepared targeted spells in advance, overpowering the enemy would be an easy feat.
But if the intelligence was erroneous, as with Arms thinking he had mastered all information on the Conqueror Army and preparing an array of incorrect spells, he would be helpless and ineffective.
Most Mages, when preparing their spells, aimed to cover a wide range, equipping themselves to handle various situations.
After Arms’ Bigby’s Clenched Fist missed its charged attack, Gaven shouted, "The time for the decisive battle has come, Ophelia, defense mode!"
The Six-armed Serpent Demon, without hesitation, darted to the side with a serpentine leap, gliding over ten meters away and tightly coiling its body to the extreme, like a giant python wrapping its upper body at the center.
Before the Six-armed Serpent Demon could fully coil itself, the Shadow Giant Dragon’s Shadow Dragon Breath arrived, sweeping across the territory covering Arms and his group.
Without a doubt, the Shadow Dragon Breath, composed of Negative Energy, had limited lethality against them, including the Dead Spirit Sorcerer Arms, who had high resistance to Negative Energy, though not immune, it was close enough.
The primary function of the Shadow Dragon Breath was to use the highly concentrated energy to break their defensive formation, especially Arms, who lacked the Bone Dragon’s and Bone Claw’s size and strength, and was blown far from the defensive formation.
The Shadow Giant Dragon seized the opportunity to descend from the sky, crushing Claw Razor beneath its foot.
Meanwhile, the Six-armed Serpent Demon uncoiled and transformed into a physical state, charging towards the now unprotected Necromancer, increasing its Speed to an extreme. Even a Knight’s charge paled in comparison.
There was no need for prior tactical communication; at the level of the Six-armed Serpent Demon, given the opportunity, she would naturally maximize the benefit.
The core of the opposing force was now the Dead Spirit Sorcerer and the Bone Dragon. Only by separating them could there be a chance to kill them one by one.
At their level, one couldn’t afford to give the opponent the chance to unleash attacks. Even the Necromancer, who had appeared to be frustratingly constrained from the beginning.
His frustration was only relative to them; if he were to face Gaven alone, he would be a terrifying presence. Saying that he could wipe out Gaven in minutes might be an exaggeration, but he would undoubtedly be forced into a pitiable state.
As long as he was engaged in battle, Gaven would have the opportunity to unleash a Vengeful Triple Strike, clearly feeling that eerie strength enveloping the entire space.
The Undead Vengeance Realm had somehow melded subtly with the space they were in, turning all the Undead within it into enemies for Gaven, even doubling the duration, which was unexpected.
But thinking about it again, it made sense. Since they were already in an Undead Domain, there was no need to activate it anew. The power of the Undead Vengeance Realm focused entirely on the Vengeance Realm, naturally doubling the duration to a terrifying six minutes.
