Chapter 886: Chapter 562: One Wrong Step Leads to Another
The only difficult one to handle was the Bone Claw. Their withered muscles were actually tougher than imagined, which explained why they possessed the special ability "Profane Vigor." They could withstand three or four hits from Gaven.
To speed up the reaping process, Gaven threw them to the True Wraiths to tangle with, while he focused on picking off the easy targets.
He discovered that this duel was a process of give and take—those undead he killed were not completely annihilated but were directly engulfed by the "Shadow Power" he manipulated and converted into bearing points. This was very similar to when he activated the "Undead Vengeance" realm, or rather, it was an undead domain.
As his bearing points increased, so did the number of True Wraiths he was able to summon. Meanwhile, the enemy’s strength weakened. After all, their total energy was limited. If the Necromancer’s Undead Soldiers killed those led by Gaven, the same would happen—as mentioned before, it’s a process of two different Shadow Powers devouring each other.
Ghosts fighting each other was much ado about nothing. The negative energy they carried had lethal effects on the living, but was completely ineffective against those of their own kind. All they could do was swing their fists, pounding away at each other, attempting to disperse the negative energy from one another and then absorb it for their own use.
On this front, the True Wraiths had a relative advantage. After all, they were complete souls and had superior control over negative energy compared to the fragmented souls that made up the Ghost Shadows.
Thus, Gaven became the most efficient troublemaker.
Soon, another unique ally appeared by Gaven’s side—with a well-rounded bottom and a slender waist, her ample upper body seemed about to burst the tight maid’s uniform. Who else could it be but Estelle?
He didn’t summon her without reason; it was to accommodate her relatively weak combat adaptability. Now that he had secured a foothold and gained an advantage on the battlefield, it was time to bring her in to expand the victory.
There was no need for Gaven’s instructions. As soon as Estelle appeared, she blew the Shadow Dragon Flute, her only method of attack.
Hou!
With a dragon’s roar, the entire space violently trembled. Then, countless Shadow Powers converged and solidified into a True Wraith of the Red Dragon. No, to be more accurate, it should be called the "Nightshadow of the Red Dragon."
As Estelle’s abilities grew stronger, her control over the Red Dragon’s Dragon Soul and Negative Energy became more adept, displaying its capabilities to the fullest. After forming, it had eighteen Life Dice, the peak state, whereas the flying Nightshadow that Gaven had destroyed had only seventeen Life Dice, which were the minimum standard for Nightshadows.
Having seventeen Life Dice qualified it as a Nightshadow. Without them, it was merely a True Wraith. Of course, it wasn’t absolute. There was a significant difference between a True Wraith with ten Life Dice and one with sixteen. Those with fifteen or sixteen Life Dice were already half-Nightshades, possessing some of the Nightshadow’s weaker abilities. Many things were cumulative, not accomplished overnight.
However, Giant Dragons were rather special; they had a specific designation: "Shadow Giant Dragon."
Regrettably, after transforming into a Shadow Giant Dragon, the breath was no longer flame-based but pure Negative Energy Attribute. For these negative energy creatures, it would only have a healing effect, not a lethal one.
Thus, the dragon could only dive down, crushing a Bone Claw directly beneath its body and launched a barrage of scratches and bites. With this combination of attacks, the Bone Claw had no chance to recover, and it was reduced to a pile of bones. The Shadow Giant Dragon had an absolute advantage in both body type and strength. Against the attacks of ordinary ghosts, it didn’t even care—it was like someone scratching an itch.
On the other side, the Necromancer was getting anxious. A Legendary Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow was troublesome enough, and in the blink of an eye, another Shadow Giant Dragon was summoned by the opponent.
When did Nightshadows become so cheap to be mass-produced?
If it was previously a speculation that Gaven had the ability to create Nightshadows, it was now one hundred percent certain that he possessed this ability. Unlike humanoid creatures, the dragons’ revival process was different. Even if they were revived, they would surely flee far away, not giving the enemy a second chance to kill them.
Feeling extremely anxious, the Necromancer’s spellcasting actions remained orderly. With the final Dharma Seal completed, countless streams of Negative Energy gathered behind him, forming an immense hand. This hand was terrifying at three meters tall, with a smooth surface where it had been severed, floating in midair. It immediately clenched into a fist upon appearing and slammed mightily into the Six-armed Snake Demon.
Eighth Circle Spell: Bigby’s Vajra Fist.
Its purpose was to summon a giant fist to serve, either for attack or defense. Its strength was formidable, with 35 points of power. Being struck by it not only meant broken bones and torn muscles, but one might also be stunned with the slightest misstep.
Bigby was the name of a Legendary Mage. He wasn’t a native of Felen but from another Material Plane. He invented an entire series of Bigby spells, encompassing fifth through ninth rings, each with different functions and capabilities. There were spells like Bigby’s Grasping Hand, known for its skill in grappling; Bigby’s Crushing Hand, known for Overbearing crushing; Bigby’s Protecting Hand, known for defense; as well as Bigby’s Forceful Hand, known for its impact.
