Chapter 879: Chapter 559 The Strongest Spell Below the Legendary_3

August loudly responded, "Duke, rest assured, Ms. Veranika, your chief of staff, has already shared information about Efanso with us. You must believe in our professionalism. We encountered this type of undead many years ago when we first fought the Ghost Witch and we received specialized training aimed at them then."

Darnell, holding the Sunrise Warhammer aloft, shouted, "Solar Flare Burst."

At this moment, the Sunrise Warhammer had completely masked its original appearance. To outsiders, it was just a dazzling orb of light. Accompanied by Darnell’s shout, the orb catalyzed to its utmost, detaching and bursting forth like a cannonball being fired directly.

Although similar in nature, the Solar Flare Burst created by the Sunrise Warhammer differed somewhat from those cast by spellcasters.

The Solar Flare Burst cast by spellcasters involved the direct convergence of massive amounts of positive energy at the casting site, followed by an explosive burst, forming a terrifyingly lethal force.

In contrast, the Burst executed through the Sunrise Warhammer had been accumulating vast amounts of positive energy over time, which, when needed, was then released in the form of a Solar Flare Burst. This wasn’t merely a feature of the weapon; all magic items possessing the capability for repeated use operated similarly. They don’t grant the wielder casting abilities; rather, their intrinsic properties include the ability to gather energy, which the wielder then utilizes.

Seeing the Solar Flare Burst roaring toward them,

The undead that were aggressive just a second ago screamed eerily the next, running away from the direction of the Solar Flare Burst.

Yet, their struggle was futile. The encompassing radius of the Solar Flare Burst was terrifying, spanning twenty-five meters.

The city hall’s front plaza, measuring only about a hundred meters in length and width, was nearly a tenth covered.

When the Solar Flare Burst exploded, it was silent because it represented highly focused positive energy, releasing in a beam of radiant light.

The spell itself was silent, but the destruction it caused was not. It didn’t annihilate the undead outright but attacked them with a barrage of positive energy. Countless streams of this energy, like numerous sharp arrows, pierced and tore apart those negative energy beings within its range. This process was enough to elicit a terrifying scream, especially from the Bone Claws, who suffered even more excruciatingly as the positive energy gradually ripped their shriveled flesh and destroyed the evil souls hidden deep within their bones.

When the collective despairing wails of countless undead merged together, it became an almost demonic cacophony. Yet, to the ears of the assault team led by Gaven, it was not torture, but rather a form of enjoyment.

After the climactic noise came profound silence.

Everyone was shocked by the Solar Flare Burst’s devastating effect on the undead.

Within the range of the Solar Flare Burst, only seven grotesquely mangled Bone Claws huddled on the ground, their spectral shadows, specters, ghosts, and other varieties of undead had vanished without a trace, leaving behind piles of Ghost Dust—this magic material generated from spirits killed by positive energy assaults was a unique casting material and enormously valuable, a special kind of war trophy.

Darnell now held seventeen Professional Levels. The Solar Flare Burst he cast inflicted 17D6 damage on the undead, highly effective against specters and other dark beings that naturally fear sunlight, dealing maximum possible damage of 17*6=102. Void of physical bodies, the undead generally had low life force; not to mention those below the Transcendent, even many above that had life force barely over a hundred.

The two forms of the Six-armed Snake Demon served as the perfect contrast. In her Nightshadow Form, she only had 144 life points, but in her physical state, her life points terrifyingly reached 328.

In other words, the body can be seen as a type of special armor for the soul, providing protection.

This was vividly displayed in those Bone Claws, who though surviving the positive energy assault by the Solar Flare Burst, were not unscathed. Their dried, sinewy muscles were gradually stripped away by the positive energy, revealing the ghastly white bones underneath, making them appear even more macabre. However, for them, the physical injuries were far less detrimental than the soul damage caused by forcibly scattering much of their spirit.

These unique undead possessed a Special Ability known as Profane Vigor, derived from their muscles saturated with negative energy. Without this ability granting them an immense amount of Extra Life, the Bone Claws would have been wiped out by the Solar Flare Burst.

Despite the formidable power released by the Solar Flare Burst, it was ephemeral, dissipating once exploded.

Meanwhile, the council chambers of Efanso had become a direct conduit to the Shadow Plane, allowing a continual influx of Shadow Energy from there and bringing various shadow creatures along, especially the undead.

If Arms were indeed an Evil Beast Spirit, his strength could not be measured by usual standards. Who knew how many years this demon had existed in Felen, how many places he had blighted, how many undead servants he had accrued, and these undead servants weren’t necessarily kept in the Material Plane but might be stored in the Shadow Plane.

"Let’s finish them off, don’t give them a chance to recover," Darnell swung the Sunrise Warhammer, boldly charging towards the seven gravely wounded Bone Claws.

The dark mist emanating from the council chambers seemed sentient, swirling towards those Bone Claws. As they absorbed a great amount of the dark mist, signs of rapid repair appeared on their battered bodies, evidently possessing a Special Ability akin to Negative Energy Healing.

"Annihilate them," the Bone Claws outside the range of the Solar Flare Burst bellowed, swinging their formidable claws and, with their Undead Soldiers, charged at Darnell.
