Chapter 878: Chapter 559 The Strongest Spell Below the Legendary_2

To break the Mist Barrier of Efanso, it would require at least half of Raymond’s current Professional Level of Law Magic Power. If it’s insufficient for the current Professional Level, he would suffer a Negative Rank, losing all the benefits obtained at that level, until he regained the missing portion of Law Magic Power.

Thus, it is one of the least used Spells by Mages, especially for a Quasi-Legendary Mage like Raymond, who was at a critical juncture of assaulting the status of Legendary Mage. Each use would severely delay his advancement into legend.

If Gaven hadn’t offered a sufficiently generous price, Raymond would never have agreed to make a move.

"Arms of Efanso has been impersonated by an Akechazha Evil Beast Spirit, the longer we delay, the more danger the citizens of Efanso face. What’s a loss of a million compared to the lives of tens of thousands?" Gaven spoke passionately, having already committed to the act, he naturally wanted to gild himself with glory.

Upon hearing this, not only did Yeshandalah and Fan Ruina, natives of the Giant Dragon Coast, look at him differently.

Paladins like Darnell and August, among others, looked at him with even greater admiration. He had not let them down; indeed, he was a fine Lord, even toward these unrelated strangers.

"Then as you wish." Raymond no longer hesitated. The Spellbook in his hand began flipping pages on its own until it reached the last one. In an instant, everything around him changed.

The wind ceased to blow, the rain stopped falling, the flame stopped burning...

Time seemed to pause at that moment, and a terrifying Magic Power converged around Raymond, erupting with a single word, "Break."

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The Magic Power bursting from Raymond was like a hammer smashing against tempered glass, with him at the center, a crisp shattering sound echoed throughout Efanso.

The Mist Barrier veiling Efanso City broke.

The teleportation-blocking mist shrouding the place vanished.

"Follow me, and slay the prime evil here," commanded Gaven, fully armed, as he set his limited Tactical Deployment in motion, leading the Holy Warrior Brigade straight to the heart of Efanso, with City Hall now within arm’s reach.

Gaven’s performance was so convincing that even the high command of the Conqueror Army believed he would seize Efanso either by breaking through its defenses or through secret assassination.

As a result, Efanso’s military strength was either amassed at the direction of the city walls or diverted underground.

Instead, there were virtually no forces in the city center, not even ordinary civilians in sight; it was like a ghost town. Not far off, City Hall loomed eerily, shrouded in dark mists, seemingly close but unknowably distant, its entryway elusive.

Seeing this sight, Gaven was not frightened but overjoyed, inwardly exclaiming heaven’s aid.

Whereas others might fear such a sight, Gaven, owner of Weizemay Manor and bearer of Undead Divinity, did not. These hybrid material and Shadow entities were a feast for him, able to be dragged directly to either Weizemay Manor or Mesnoel, turning the enemy’s home ground into his own.

When Gaven was still hundreds of meters away from Efanso City Hall, the building, like a monstrous beast, erupted with black mist that swallowed everything in an instant. Horrific, piercing howls emanated from within the mist, as if a terrifying Monster Army was surging toward them.

Without a word from Gaven, the Holy Warriors of the Just Hammer, far more experienced in battling Undead than Humans, sprang into action.

Seven or eight Daylight Spells were cast without overlap, thoroughly illuminating the true nature of what lurked beneath the black mist.

Hiss.

Even those brave Holy Warriors couldn’t help but inhale sharply at the sight within the mist.

A host of Undead surged forth with the mist, and these were no mere Skeletons or Zombies, but Ghosts and Shadows—Spectral Undead without physical form.

For the Holy Warriors, these were tricky foes, all the more so for Aidan and his Followers of Tempus.

The most conspicuous, however, were the massive creatures mingled among them—entities over three meters tall, with Skeletal Remains for frames. Yet, they were not slight, their sinewy, line-like muscles exuding an eerie grace.

Most eye-catching were their claws, with just three fingers each, every one at least fifty centimeters long, slender and sharp as razors and gleaming with a sinister green light that flickered alive, writhing incessantly upon them.

Bone Claws.

Arms had created the Sage Undead using large, humanoid creatures as a base, evident from the malice and savagery evident in their crimson eyes.

Gaven called out loudly, "Everyone, consume the Life God Berry immediately, these Undead carry a special disease called Death Poison concocted by the Necromancers here. Should anyone become infected, take the Antidote at once. Beware those large Undead—they are Bone Claws, a type of Sage Undead, possessing high intelligence. Their bone claws can extend and lengthen."
