Chapter 870: 556

"Do you know that the leader of the Petrified Lizards Slave Traders Group who has always traded slaves with you is actually disguised as a Nadarun Evil Beast Spirit?" Gaven didn’t answer but asked instead.

"Chuck is disguised as a Nadarun Evil Beast Spirit? Do you have proof?" Grace’s expression looked worse than if she had eaten feces. Although she was currently in a phantom state, it contained her true soul. Aside from her appearance being different from her real form, everything else was the same.

"The true phantom as proof." Gaven directly played the true phantom where he had killed the Nadarun Evil Beast Spirit on the three-masted ship for Grace to see. Whether she believed this evidence or not was her own concern.

"You deduce from this that my teacher is disguised as an Akechazha Evil Beast Spirit?" Grace’s phantom looked even more distressed. If the speculation was true, it meant that she had been consorting with a devil for the past few years, unwittingly aiding it, and possibly already marked by a Hell Mark. If so, upon dying, she would not enter the normal death process but would be dragged straight to Hell like a devil.

"The initial deduction only had a thirty to forty percent likelihood, but now it’s risen to sixty to seventy percent." Gaven did not resort to intimidation since the other was a downright clever person who, given enough information, would come up with her own conclusions which could be more intimidating than anything he could say.

"If so, killing him will let us know." Grace’s phantom was filled with sternness, "Behind this abandoned warehouse, there lies a hidden passage leading to Efanso Underground City, a discovery I recently made while surveying underground. Apart from me, no one else in Efanso knows about it.

I’ve already buried the map of Efanso Underground City’s layout in another location. If you can ensure my safety afterward, I will immediately hand over the layout to you and also find a way to destroy the Transformation Array and Mystlock Locks, inhibit Arms’s teleportation abilities, giving you time and a chance to thoroughly kill him."

Even in her defection, Grace wasn’t motivated by a newfound conscience but purely for her own benefit.

"If I were to quickly agree to your terms, you probably wouldn’t trust that I’d keep my promise." Gaven knew too well these selfishly evil individuals—they trusted no one, not even their parents, let alone a promise from a stranger. "I can offer you another choice, I can help sever the Hell Mark, but you must die once and be transformed into a True Wraith state, thereafter limited by me and loyal only to me."

"How can I be sure you have that ability?" Grace immediately retorted.

Gaven’s words had hit the nail on the head; the biggest issue in their cooperation was mutual trust. Without resolving this fundamental issue, their partnership might not proceed smoothly.

Not only could she not trust Gaven, but Gaven and his group probably couldn’t wholly trust her, an evil being.

However, the method Gaven spoke of seemed more feasible.

She simply didn’t want to be dragged into Hell to face an unknown fate; whether she remained human or subjugated was of lesser concern.

As long as she lived within the familiar material plane, she was confident in her cunning intelligence to change everything.

Moreover, serving under a renowned Conqueror also seemed like a good choice, offering plenty of opportunities to apply what she had learned.

Seemingly anticipating Grace’s retort, he directly played a new True Wraith phantom, naturally the event of severing the spirit of a Six-armed Snake Demon from returning to the Abyss, transforming it into a Nightshadow.

Not giving Grace a chance to raise new doubts, he immediately launched the True Name of Demons Summoning; the next moment, a vast figure appeared before the man and phantom.

The swords of the Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow, as always, were quicker than her mouth; the moment she appeared, six swords were already slashing towards Grace’s phantom.

"Stop, she’s an ally." Luckily, Gaven was prepared; when summoning the Six-armed Snake Demon, he placed it a bit far and immediately ordered it to halt.

Even so, the six swords of the Serpent Demon were already raised to Grace’s phantom’s neck; a second later would have been enough to shred the phantom to pieces.

"What do you want me to do if not fight?" The Serpent Demon glanced disdainfully at Grace’s phantom and swiftly slid behind Gaven, now in her physical form rather than her Nightshadow form.

Different abilities yielded different powers in different hands.

In Estelle’s and Amanda’s hands, the Phasing Transformation merely gave them another chance at humanity; Daphne merely used it to try to allure Gaven.

But in the hands of the Six-armed Snake Demon, it became an incredibly sharp weapon, taking her strength to a new level due to this ability to adopt two entirely different battle modes.

In her physical state, with her Transcendant Body activated, she possessed unmatched speed, even surpassing ordinary war horses. The faster the speed, the quicker the slaughter, especially against lower foes.

In Nightshadow Form, swapping speed for damage and spell reduction abilities akin to a main battle tank, her siege capability immdiately escalated.

"Prove to her that I have the ability to sever the Hell Mark. And don’t worry about wanting to fight; soon enough, you’ll have the chance to reap a multitude of high-quality souls." Gaven still held the utmost respect for his strongest trump card, knowing well that the combat effectiveness would be significantly different under positive and negative attitudes.
