Chapter 766 - 523
Chapter 766: 523
Even the same ability, when manifested in different individuals, does not produce identical effects; such is the case with the Flying Dragon Transformation.
After the Dragon Oak Mother Tree initiated Dragonization, Shanoba’s Flying Dragon Transformation began to deviate from the usual appearance of a Flying Dragon. It started to resemble a Red Copper Dragon, whether it was the emergence of Dragon Wings or the appearance of Dragon Scales on the body, or even the Strong Acid Breath.
Gaven’s Flying Dragon Transformation was an even more radical departure. Except for the overall shape, which still resembled a Flying Dragon, everything else, from the Dragon Wings to the Dragon Scales, was thoroughly redolent of a Red Copper Dragon, even the dragon’s head bore more resemblance to a Red Copper Dragon than a Flying Dragon.
In terms of size, the two were comparable, but Gaven appeared more streamlined, and seemed to be more agile than Shanoba, a fact that was most apparent when comparing their current attributes.
Shanoba’s attributes after Flying Dragon Transformation: Strength 21, Dexterity 12, Constitution 18, Intelligence 12, Perception 16, Charisma 19.
Gaven’s attributes after Flying Dragon Transformation: Strength 20, Dexterity 16, Constitution 21, Intelligence 21, Perception 18, Charisma 20.
Even in transformation, it follows the quality of the original body, and is not random; this transformation only occurs in the physical body and does not involve the Soul Consciousness. Thus, only the physical attributes—Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution—are adjusted, while the internal attributes remain unchanged.
The attribute adjustment template for Flying Dragon Transformation is: Strength +4, Dexterity -2, and Constitution +4.
Gaven was no exception, but there was a slight discrepancy in his Strength attribute. This was due to the transformation, but it was not a temporary increase; instead, it was a permanent increase. This was both a result of Gaven’s long-term relentless physical training and an indirect permanent effect caused by the adjustments made to his body during Superstate Transformation.
There were aspects in which his Flying Dragon Transformation was inferior to Shanoba’s—for instance, he could not unlock the Strong Acid Breath ability. This was related to the inherent power of Superstate Transformation itself. After all, it’s only a fourth-level Special Ability, so to perfectly mimic the outward appearance is already impressive. To replicate internal Special Abilities and Supernatural Abilities would far exceed its limitations. To fully mimic, he would have to wait until he reached the status of a Legendary Psychic Sorcerer and unlocked a higher level of Superstate Transformation.
However, he had advantages that Shanoba did not possess. His myriad of Special Abilities remained intact, and some Spells and Special Abilities that didn’t involve casting actions or materials could still be used even in his Flying Dragon form. The sheer power of this was thrilling to even think about.
His greatest weaknesses—Strength and Constitution—were compensated for by the Flying Dragon Transformation.
In this state, he didn’t need to stack Intelligence to Legendary levels. He only needed to use normal Overclocking in conjunction with the Singing Stone or directly engage the second type of Bionic Art.
That’s where the advantage of raising his Professional Level lay: it’s a comprehensive enhancement that diversifies tactics and abilities.
The first type of Bionic Art is a second-level Special Ability, requiring three Psychic Power Points each time it is cast, and it can only be used by a Psychic Sorcerer of at least level three, due to the fact that the Psychic Power Points a Psychic Sorcerer can infuse into a single Psychic Ability are not infinite but limited by Professional Level.
The second type of Bionic Art is a fourth-level Special Ability, requiring seven Psychic Power Points per use. By extension, the third type is a sixth-level Special Ability, the fourth type ninth-level (requiring 17 Psychic Power Points, already a ninth-level Special Ability, not eighth-level), the fifth type eleventh-level, and the sixth type fourteenth-level.
In theory, this is correct, but the fifth and sixth types have broken through the ninth-level ceiling, and it’s possible that they have their own limits.
With this as a backdrop, the strength of Legendary attribute bonuses is further highlighted. Gaven’s second Overclocking offers an attribute boost that rivals a fourteenth-level Special Ability. If such power was used for an offensive spell, a Special Ability of this grade could not be said to destroy the heavens and earth, but wiping out a city would not be a difficult task.
Of course, not all Special Abilities are equal, and this only implies the high grade of the ability, not a direct comparison. Forcing low-level Special Abilities or Spells into high-level ones inherently leads to massive energy waste, and Bionic Art is no exception.
In short, due to the abundance of Strength, he had plenty of options to tactically adjust according to the situation. However, for optimal attributes, he still had to stack Intelligence to Legendary and activate a second Overclocking.
Under optimal attribute conditions.
Gaven’s attributes would then be: Strength 24, Dexterity 20, Constitution 25, Intelligence 31, Perception 22, Charisma 26. Including the additional gain from a Bionic Art, which he could apply to any of the five attributes other than Intelligence, allowing him to unlock Legendary attribute bonuses for another attribute.
This bonus could be activated even in a non-transformed state, but Gaven, with his plethora of varied abilities and focus on resettlement, had not yet had the chance to delve deeper into it.
Legendary Charisma Bonus (choose one).
One, permanent Charisma +4
Two, Boon of Elevation (Special Ability) — Your powerful Charisma can even benefit others. You can elevate the Professional Level or Life Dice of one creature per day. It can only be used once daily and is only effective on Transcendent or below beings and Professionals. The creature’s favorability towards you will shift to some extent.
Three, Legendary Summon (Special Ability) — Your Charisma has reached a Legendary level, irresistible to many. Everyone will be naturally predisposed to like you. Some will unwittingly bow to your charismatic influence, willing to follow and pledge loyalty to you. When your actions directly or indirectly influence them, the effect will be maximized.
Even though Gaven had seen the Legendary attribute bonuses before, he was still profoundly shaken.
The first option was disregarded outright.
The second and third options, however, were both exceedingly powerful.
The Boon of Elevation ability was quite similar to Zalanda’s Elite Grace, designed for rapid cultivation of Transcendent subordinates, with distinct advantages and disadvantages.
Zalanda’s Elite Grace could only demonstrate its true power during warfare, and the participant needed to be involved in the war and make tangible contributions to use this ability—it came with many limitations.
