Chapter 639: Chapter 481 Seeing but Not Touching_2

This wasn’t solely a matter of his emotions, there was also a magical factor involved.

It was a magic oil painting with the ability to stir the dark desires at the bottom of one’s heart.

Not until Gaven hastily rolled it up did the charm completely subside. Without a second thought, he tossed it into the Portable Dimensional Hole, and not just it, all the tapestries and paintings were collected as well.

He wasn’t claiming them for himself but was preparing to later study and critique them with a critical attitude.

Then he carried out a thorough search of the entire room, leaving no stone unturned. Although he found a plethora of erotic devices, his real target was nowhere to be seen.

"Treasure, treasure, my lord, we have found treasure," came the excited barking of the Gnolls from outside.

Gnolls were also very sensitive to riches and equally greedy.

Yet, their greed was intriguing, as they didn’t covet the wealth for themselves but offered it to their master, especially if their master was a Giant Dragon. Receiving praise in return was the best reward for them.

Knowing their nature well, Gaven generously praised them, "You did a very good job. When we return to the territory, I’ll apply for a Dragon Soul Enhancement Potion for you all."

The Dragon Soul Enhancement Potion was a brand new Gnoll enhancement potion recently developed by Dragon Oak Territory.

As the name suggests, this enhancement potion used the soul of a Giant Dragon.

In terms of the physique, undergoing Dragonization was already the limit of the Gnoll’s bloodline enhancement; even if a more potent Dragon Blood Potion made from a stronger Giant Dragon was used, it served only to increase the success rate of initiating Dragonization and lessen the required Professional Level. For each aging stage increase in the Dragon Blood used, the Professional Level needed by the Gnoll would decrease by one.

For example, for a potion made from the blood of a Young Red Copper Dragon like Aivensa, at least eight Professional Levels were needed to have a chance at Dragonization, whereas the blood from a teenage Red Dragon like Roderick required only seven, and a young adult Red Dragon only five.

Once Dragonization was initiated, to further enhance that aspect, their souls had to start Dragonizing and become closer to that of a Giant Dragon.

This could be achieved slowly through close service to a Giant Dragon and being influenced by it.

Or, one could take a shortcut—by consuming a Dragon Soul Enhancement Potion that contained fragments of a Dragon Soul.

There was only one method to create such a potion—slaying a dragon.

The amount that could be produced was also related to the maximum Hit Points of the Giant Dragon; typically, only one potion could be made per Hit Point.

A total of over two hundred potions were made from a young Red Dragon, which might sound like a lot, but in the context of Dragon Oak Territory with seventy or eighty thousand Gnolls, it clearly wasn’t enough to go around.

Besides, this substance had no limit to its consumption; the more one consumed, the better. Its effects were straightforward: not only did it make one more dragon-like, but it also directly increased the daily use of Spell-Like Abilities. Whether consuming multiple potions would have additional effects remained to be further researched. It was now considered a top-tier merit exchange item.

So far, only about a dozen had been exchanged and distributed among different Gnolls.

"Thank you, Lord," the Gnolls thanked him repeatedly. To them, the value of a Dragon Soul Enhancement Potion far exceeded these treasures.

"Don’t thank me; this is the reward you deserve," Gaven smiled in response and began to inventory the former innkeeper’s treasure.

In the end, he left disappointed, for they were but a hodgepodge of mundane riches. Roughly estimated, they were no less than fifty thousand Gold Coins, which indeed would be a significant wealth for an ordinary family.

But for Gaven, it was clearly insignificant.

Compared to the trouble he stirred up there, harvesting only this amount of treasure was like losing his pants in the process.

This was the last secret chamber they had discovered. Afterward, Gaven led the group of Gnolls to scour the place three or four times, and nothing new was uncovered.

Gaven didn’t give up, instead, he fell into deep thought. There had to be something they were overlooking, especially considering he had direct contact with The Weeping Witch. Her existence itself was the biggest clue.

On the other hand, if the items were so easily discovered, they wouldn’t have waited for him to arrive; surely the former innkeeper would have found them by then.

Anna muttered from the side, "Could it be that the room isn’t hidden in the Material Plane at all, but in the Shadow Plane or the Spirit World? Searching only on one plane, we’re unlikely to find anything."

"Impossible, I have the Eye of Truth," Gaven shook his head, rejecting the idea, "If such a room existed, I should be able to see it directly."

"The Eye of Truth isn’t omnipotent. It can only see through illusions, not through physical objects. What if the room is hidden behind something tangible?" Anna countered without hesitation.

"Right! Why didn’t I think of that earlier?" Gaven turned around and hugged Anna, biting her round face with affection, "You really are my lucky star. Everyone, come over and help me move this bed."

Anna was a bit stunned by the unexpected kiss, standing still without reacting for a while.

Everything in the basement had been completely cleared out by Gaven and his group, with the sole exception of the solid wood bed in the pleasure room. It was far too bulky and heavy, taking up half the room, and was assembled right there.

Gaven, whose attention had earlier been captured by those unique portraits, had neglected it—or rather, their purpose might have been to divert attention.
