Chapter 250: Chapter 198: A Gift from Nectar Village_1

Seemingly perceiving the perplexity in Felix’s heart, Elton chuckled and said, "I’m not foolish enough to think I could take a few dozen warriors against the entire Black Mirror Kingdom. Your Holiness, the Great Shaman, it’s not me you support but rather the Corruption of the Dragon Oak Great Tree. Bringing troops back to Black Mirror would only serve to make them new fodder for corruption."

"Haven’t you noticed that Olivia has been missing for quite some time?"

Who says it wasn’t noticed.

It was noticed the day Olivia went missing.

But after all, she is your daughter, your most trusted confidant.

No one dares to inquire about her whereabouts without your word.

Despite his heart filled with disapproval, Felix’s face showed none of it as he respectfully asked, "Has Princess Olivia gone to carry out a secret mission?"

"Exactly," Elton responded, his interest fully piqued, or rather, with the plan nearing success, requiring him to start recruiting and preparing his forces in advance. Felix, due to his unique profession, was someone he had to take with him. "From the very first day I arrived here, I was curious as to where the waters of this underground river ultimately flowed. Olivia has been helping me investigate this matter, and just a few days ago, she sent word back to me."

"What did Princess Olivia say?" Even Felix was intrigued this time.

He had more or less guessed what the other party was about to reveal.

True to his expectations, unable to contain his excitement, Elton’s grotesque face gleamed as he said, "This underground river is connected to an even larger Dark Domain, an area several times the size of Black Mirror, the most important thing is, this Dark Domain is not marked on our maps, absent of other Giants, inhabited only by a group of dark Elves and their wicked servants. Olivia has already begun to assemble her own forces there, just waiting for us to come and provide support."

"A brand new territory." At this moment, Felix’s eyes also blazed with fervor.

The value of a brand new territory goes without saying, akin to those of the Fae Race.

Like them, while corrupting the land, they also draw strength from it.

Once conquering this new territory and attuning with it, Elton would gain much greater strength and rightfully become its King.

Even the Black Mirror Kingdom could not, and would not, hold him accountable, for the expansion of territory is an innate right of every Foul Giant.

And he would be the Great Shaman of this nascent Kingdom.

Elton’s reaction was very pleasing to Prince Elton, as no one can resist the temptation of a new territory. "You know what to do next, right?"

"I do," Felix nodded repeatedly, "I will immediately send word to the Great Shaman, informing him about the gravity of the situation here, and ask him to find a way to send reinforcements as quickly and as many as possible."

So you do have the ability to contact the Great Shaman directly.

A hint of coldness flashed in the cat-like eyes of the Foul Giant Prince, but this was for the best, only then would that cunning old man truly take action.

For the sake of his great plan, Prince Elton suppressed the raging anger inside and calmly said, "Before we take any action, this news must be kept secret, and you must make every effort to proceed with corrupting the Dragon Oak Great Tree without a single mishap."

"Understood." Felix took the hint.

This course of action was not about allegiance, but to prevent the possibility of the King’s or the Great Shaman’s spies among the Foul Giants here.

Once more reinforcements arrive, they will be swept into the new territory.

From then on, it will be out of their hands, and as for the Corruption of the Dragon Oak Great Tree, the future plans of the Black Mirror Kingdom, the Holy Master Black Mirror’s escape, by that time, it will no longer concern them.

Having been imbued with a new goal by Prince Elton, Felix’s previous worries and dilemmas vanished into thin air, and now all he thought about was how to fudge his way through the situation.

Considering the Elves’ repeated assaults,

After discussing, the two decided to directly station most of the forces permanently in the corrupted space.

With these high-level forces in place, after suffering a major loss, the Elves’ assaults indeed came to a halt.

Although there were many Fae Races, they were naturally too weak and were suppressed by the evil power of the Foul Giants’ Evil Eye Curse, unable to stir up any trouble for the time being.

Confronted with the tactical adjustment of the Foul Giants, Gaven and Lord Virginia rejoiced in unison, "It worked, they fell for it."

Gaven spoke solemnly, "It’s time for us to strike."

"Right." This time, Lord Virginia did not object. "Safety first, keep in touch at all times, and if the situation changes, we prefer to abandon the plan."

After several days of re-assessing their own and their enemy’s strength and refining their tactics,

They concluded that their chances of victory were high.

After all, they had the element of surprise on their side. Even if compromised, they could always withdraw and engage in a war of attrition.

"Don’t worry, I value my life. Even if there is an accident, I’ll try to send my soul consciousness into the Dragon Oak Mother Tree. Then you’ll take care of me... resurrect me." In the end, Gaven was obviously making light of the situation with a flirtatious undertone.

"Fine then, when the time comes, I’ll take care of you. I’ll lock you in a cage so you won’t be able to go anywhere and stop you from flirting around." However, Lord Virginia, having just been won over by Gaven, was now quite fierce.

Since things were irreversible, she no longer twisted herself in agony.

She decided to change her approach, sealing away the memories of her original affection, no longer allowing it to affect her thoughts and moods.

By creating new memories, new affections, she would replace the old ones.

In doing so, she would not be betraying, but moving on from her original romance into a new one, rather than unjustly using Gaven as a substitute for someone else.

Of course, Gaven was unaware of the emotional journey that Lord Virginia had undergone, and he was completely defeated on the spot.

Compared to the vigorous Lord Virginia now, Gaven somewhat missed the previous one, bashful and almost maiden-like.

Alas, there’s no turning back now.

Once the busy streets replace the narrow paths, they can never return to what they once were.

You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Fortunately, for the most part, Lord Virginia was quite earnest, "Please wait a moment before departing, Nicole on behalf of Nectar Village, has a gift for you."

"A gift? What kind of gift? It’s not a farewell drink, is it?" Gaven perked up at the mention of a gift.

They were setting off for Yaling, and Lord Virginia had opened the treasure vaults of Spring Bud Fortress, equipping them to the teeth.

It was a pity, though, that even the landlord had no surplus grain.

Spring Bud Fortress did not have much in the way of magical equipment for them to choose from either.

The most valuable items were five Howard Convenient Bags, which had been squeezed out of Lord Virginia’s own troops. Compared to them, Gaven and company, who needed to carry a large number of Dragon Tremor Bombs, required such magical backpacks even more.

The rest were non-magical items of fine quality, better than nothing.

In their previous underhanded plunder of the Santarin Association’s goods, there were several highly valuable, powerful magic items.

But they could only look and not touch, at least not until they found a way to erase the multiple mage marks on them.

He certainly did not want to put on those magic items and instantly have multiple legendary warriors show up at his side.

"Wait until they get here and you’ll know what it is. Look, they are already on their way," Lord Virginia teased.

During the conversation, Nicole and Atwood flew over, sprinkling Fairy Dust as they flew, trailing a long piece of cloth behind them that glowed softly, clearly made from the distinctive Radiance Cloth of the Fairy Wilderness.

Upon realizing this, Gaven guessed what Nicole and company were bringing.

Nicole, unable to hide her thoughts like Virginia, exclaimed from afar with excitement, "Mr. Gaven, Mr. Gaven, the banner design you asked me to revise, not only have I made the changes, but I have already created a sample. Please take a look and see if it’s suitable."

While she spoke, the Radiance Cloth banner unfurled behind her.

All eyes were involuntarily drawn to the banner.

It was so beautiful!

That was everyone’s first impression.

This could not simply be called a banner; it was more like a piece of exquisite artwork.

The banner used Gaven’s original design, featuring the image of a Red Copper Dragon spreading its wings, with the Dragon Oak Mother Tree as the backdrop.

However, both images had been reworked to add another deep layer, a man clad in Combat Armor standing directly below the Giant Dragon, hands resting on his swords.

It looked like one image, but it was actually three.

From a distance, it created a distinct sense of depth, and when the near-transparent Radiance Cloth swayed, the Giant Tree, the Giant Dragon, and the man in the painting seemed as though they were about to step right out of it.

The glow of the Radiance Cloth was particularly focused on the armor, glittering as it moved, perfectly matching Gaven in his own Combat Armor.

As for the figure’s prototype, without even saying, it was certainly Gaven as the lord.

"You’re a professional indeed," Gaven gestured thumbs-up to Nicole. "Setting everything else aside, this painting alone would not go out of my hands for less than a fortune if it were sold... But this is our banner, the future banner of Dragon Oak Territory. If you weren’t going to simplify it, why have you made it even more complex?"

Nicole clearly had her own thoughts, "This is the simplest I could make it. I can show you with a single stroke, don’t believe me? Watch."

With that, Nicole began to move through the air, casting more Fairy Dust as she did so.

Before the Fairy Dust had even settled, a drawing took shape in the air, mirroring the triple imagery on the Radiance Cloth banner. It was devoid of color, stripped to its simplest form.

"You’re a professional, of course, it’s simple for you," Gaven pointed at the others around him, "but ask them, could they recreate it? Don’t speak of a single stroke, even if they copied it directly, I doubt they could depict one-tenth of this banner."

Not only did Susie, Zack, and the Gnolls agree, but so did Aivensa, Andrew, and Roderick, shaking their heads involuntarily. It was indeed beyond their skill set.

Lord Virginia, who knew Gaven’s thoughts all too well, commented, "Simplicity has its advantages, and complexity has its merits. You’re so set on simplicity for easy on-the-spot production, but while that’s good, high recognizability also means it’s easy for others to replicate. A complex design like this, I believe many would struggle to imitate. You just need to prepare more and have Nicole and her team make a few extras for you. Sometimes, rarity is valuable. When you award these banners, people will treasure them even more."

What’s said without intent often resonates deeply with the listener.

Suddenly, Gaven thought of something.

In Felen, beliefs and convictions had a real presence.

Any item that accrued enough belief and conviction often underwent wonderful transformations.

As a symbol of a territory, a realm’s banner was a focal point for the collective conviction of many.

The banner Nicole and her team presented to him, whether in terms of material or the significance of the imagery, was so unique. Even if not magical, it wasn’t far off.

If it could gather some of that conviction...

The changes that might occur were something to look forward to.

Realizing this, Gaven addressed Nicole seriously, "From now on, you are the designated designer for Dragon Oak Territory. You will design and create our war banners and regimental flags. I will accept this banner of leadership, and it will rise alongside the glory of our Dragon Oak Territory."
