Chapter 230: Chapter 189: Subduing the Dragon Girl_2
"At your command," Shanoba complied, not walking over but rather crawling.
It wasn’t until their close encounter that Gaven realized.
Not only was Shanoba’s entire body turned rose red, but it was also emanating an intense heat.
Gaven felt the roots of his shoulder-guard tingling, as if something was about to emerge from there.
"What are you two doing?" the Young Red Copper Dragon, hearing the humming, came back again.
Luckily, Shanoba’s black dragon wings were large enough to completely conceal the junction of the two of them.
Gaven replied in a muffled voice, "Nothing, you go on lookout, I’m checking her recent changes, her wyvern transformation seems to have new changes."
"Really?" Aivensa was somewhat skeptical, does checking her body require holding her in your arms?
"Really!" Gaven replied earnestly.
"What’s with the dragon shadows on you guys?" That was what the Young Red Copper Dragon was most concerned about.
The dragon shadows on the two of them had not dissipated, still entwined together, only appearing like faint mist.
The forms differed greatly; emanating from Shanoba was obviously the wyvern she transformed into.
The one coming off Gaven, however, was much blurrier, simply the outline of a giant dragon, too difficult to discern which kind. To Aivensa, it seemed to resemble a Red Copper Dragon the most. The aura it emitted appealed to Aivensa greatly, inciting a playful urge to rush over.
"It’s the blessing of the Dragon Oak Mother Tree," Gaven attributed everything to the Dragon Oak Mother Tree.
Indeed it was, for his soul and body had formed a close connection with the giant dragon, starting from the first golden Milestone of Destiny where the Dragon Oak Mother Tree began its mystical link with him.
"Then when you’re free, check me too," said the dragon.
"Okay," Gaven replied, mustering great willpower to deal with the pesky youngster, "Go chase away those blind creatures trying to come up here, and when we return tonight, I’ll finish telling you the rest of the Heavenly Palace story."
"In one go? Without stopping halfway?"
"In one go, and if you keep nagging, I might just change my mind."
"Okay! Okay! Okay!" The Young Red Copper Dragon, now distracted, walked off singing the universal language version of Monkey Brother with zest.
Amidst their intense conflict.
The initially mist-like dragon shadows grew thicker and thicker, eventually enveloping the two, rendering them completely invisible from the outside.
Shanoba, like a cheetah, with an agile yet powerful body, suddenly stiffened and exclaimed in disbelief, "I’ve unlocked the professional template!"
The timing of this unlock was somewhat peculiar.
But considering the intertwined dragon shadows, it seemed almost normal.
Gaven asked, "What professions can you choose from?"
"Magician... Dragon Vein Sorcerer... warrior... Barbarian..." Shanoba answered.
"Barbarian!" Gaven responded without a second thought, "Your main strength is the wyvern transformation, so your profession should also revolve around enhancing this ability. Although warriors gain many additional feats later on, most of these feats are designed for humanoid forms and become less useful after transformation. But a barbarian’s Berserk can be used both before and after transformation."
If such a choice were presented to a Gnoll, Gaven would have them unhesitatingly choose Dragon Vein Sorcerer or Magician.
But for Shanoba, these two seemingly powerful professions were quite unimpressive.
Since she was inherently endowed with thirteen Life Dice, this meant that the Experience Value needed to unlock her professional template was as much as that required for a level thirteen professional to advance one level.
Subsequently, the experience required for leveling up would be calculated in a similar manner, making it exceedingly difficult.
For her to raise her Caster Level to Transcendent, it was almost as challenging as ascending from Transcendent to Legendary; each level up counted in years.
Two or three Caster Levels would offer her only marginal help.
However, Barbarians were different; one Professional Level would have an immediately noticeable effect on her combat prowess.
Special Abilities like Fast Movement would increase her speed, including flight velocity as a wyvern, as this was a Special Ability integrated into her body and would take effect during transformation.
Not to mention Berserk, with a Strength and Constitution increase of +4 each; even in her humanoid state, such a boost was significant, let alone transforming into a wyvern, which would propel both her Strength and Constitution into the realm of the Transcendent. By then, not only would her combat capability increase, but she could also spew one or two more Strong Acid Breaths daily.
The frequency of the Dragon Breath each day is closely related to one’s Constitution.
Roar!
Shanoba, through decisive action, made her choice clear.
Her blood surged, eyes turned crimson, muscles bulged prominently, and she seemed to grow taller.
She entered her first Berserk State in life.
Once again gaining the upper hand, Shanoba unleashed a relentless attack on Gaven.
Gaven instinctively checked her attributes.
Profession: Level 1 Barbarian
Life Force: 160 (Life Dice: 13D10 + 1D12 + 84)
Attributes: Strength 17+4, Dexterity 14, Constitution 14+4, Intelligence 12, Perception 16, Charisma 19
Even in her untransformed state, her Strength had reached the Transcendent level.
The substantial increase in Strength and Constitution had tensed up her body from head to toe in a split second, giving Gaven the illusion that she might crush him, nearly causing him to surrender on the spot.
He could only endure the fierce assault, knowing from his rich experience fighting barbarians that this state would not last long, and that after weathering the initial onslaught, she would soon enter a state of exhaustion.
