Chapter 327: Chapter 318: Wild Goose Egg

Twenty minutes later, Han Qiwu finished grilling all the meat and sat down merrily, enjoying his grilled cod and barbecued meat while sipping a drink.

"Qingying, how’s work lately?" Tang Jing asked casually, his mouth greasy as he spoke, not forgetting to grab another skewer of grilled pork belly to continue eating.

After all these years of traveling across the country, he had never tasted such delicious barbecue.

No wonder Qingying ended up like this.

Anyone would succumb to this.

"It was okay before; the last couple of weeks have been pretty hectic." Tang Qingying, also full to the brim, was leisurely nibbling on a grilled yellow croaker.

Hearing this, Tang Jing’s expression grew slightly serious. He glanced at his phone, then sat up straight and asked, "Is it Third Uncle bringing you along?"

Tang Qingying nodded.

"Looks like Third Uncle’s feeling the pressure too," Tang Jing sighed. "It’s okay. Busy times will pass, things will smooth out later."

Han Qiwu felt a bit curious but, since this topic involved their family, he didn’t press further.

Tang Qingying had a vague guess in her mind, but she was smart enough not to bring it up here to avoid disrupting the current atmosphere.

"Keep eating. Hey, pass me some more chili," Tang Jing quickly regained his usual jovial demeanor, holding up a skewer of grilled beef tendon.

"Watch out for tomorrow’s toilet marathon," Han Qiwu joked as he sprinkled more chili over the skewer, then got up to fetch three servings of double-skin milk from the fridge.

"Double-skin milk? When did you make this?" Tang Qingying asked in surprise.

"Take a guess," Han Qiwu chuckled as he divided the servings. "Try it."

Tang Qingying hastily scooped a spoonful, looked at it, and remarked with delight, "The milk skin is so thick! It must be delicious."

A bite revealed a pleasant contrast between the sweet, smooth milk skin and the liquid milk beneath. The same flavor, different textures—it was a unique experience.

Enjoying herself, Tang Qingying lifted the small bowl and started eating spoonful after spoonful.

"Take your time. If you want more, I’ll make it for you again," Han Qiwu chuckled. "Come on, Brother Jing, let’s have another drink," he said as he raised his cup.

"You rascal, better know your limits!" Tang Jing chided jokingly, downing his drink in one gulp.

Han Qiwu felt a flicker of understanding, yet it was half-understood, half not.

Well, just drink.

They kept eating until past three in the afternoon, when the meal finally wrapped up. Tang Jing, now flushed red, was slumped across the table fast asleep. Tang Qingying, with just a faint blush on her cheeks, had drunk only a little—barely showing any effects.

On the other hand, Han Qiwu had downed almost a full jin of liquor, yet his face showed no redness and his stride remained steady.

He knew well that his enhanced physique also improved his alcohol metabolism. Drinking and breaking down the alcohol simultaneously, he felt no trace of drunkenness.

After tidying up the table and settling Tang Jing into a comfortable spot, Han Qiwu exchanged a glance with Tang Qingying and quietly shut the door behind them as they left the fisherman’s tavern.

Let Tang Jing sleep it off.

Outside, the brisk sea breeze woke Han Qiwu up instantly.

"Mr. Tang, how about we go pick some strawberries? They seem pretty tasty," he suggested.

"Sure, I noticed them on the way out. Those strawberries are huge," Tang Qingying immediately agreed.

On their way home, the two ran into Aunt Hong Mei, who was carrying a basket—seemingly filled with goodies she had foraged from the nearby hills.

"Qingying, back again? Why have you gotten skinnier?" Aunt Hong Mei exclaimed warmly as she walked over, putting an arm around Tang Qingying with a tone of half-blaming, half-caring. "Xiao Han, you should be cooking up something good for her! Look at how thin she’s gotten."

Han Qiwu: "...."

Auntie, you sure know how to win people over.

As expected, Tang Qingying burst into laughter upon hearing Aunt Hong Mei’s words and started chatting with her.

After some conversation, Aunt Hong Mei pulled out two large, green, palm-sized eggs from her basket and handed them to Tang Qingying with a cheerful smile: "Here, Auntie’s giving you two wild goose eggs to nourish yourself."

"Wild goose eggs?" Han Qiwu blinked in surprise.

These eggs were enormous.

They looked substantial.

Glancing at them, he even saw their attributes flash into his view.

[Wild Goose Egg (Ordinary Quality)]

[Not Hatchable]

[Stamina +120]

[Health +120]

[Note: Don’t worry, it’s not a swan egg]

The recovery values of these wild goose eggs were 1.2 times higher compared to the fire duck eggs from before.

Reasonable enough—after all, their size was larger.

"Auntie, you should keep these for yourself. We’re both young and healthy, we don’t need the extra nourishment," Tang Qingying said cheerfully, placing the eggs back in the basket.

After some playful back-and-forth, the exchange ended with Tang Qingying accepting one goose egg.

As Han Qiwu and Tang Qingying’s figures receded into the distance, Aunt Hong Mei stood smiling with a sense of satisfaction.

This boy might seem clueless, but he’s quite efficient.

Back home, Han Qiwu led Tang Qingying straight to the strawberry patches and bent down to start picking.

"What kind of strawberries are these? They’re enormous," Tang Qingying exclaimed, picking one, giving it a quick rinse, and popping it into her mouth.

"I don’t know; a friend of mine gifted them," Han Qiwu dodged with his usual vagueness. "How’s the taste?"

"Delicious. The strawberry flavor is strong, and they’re so juicy," Tang Qingying nodded repeatedly. "I haven’t had strawberries this fragrant in ages."

"If they’re good, eat more," Han Qiwu gave an almost cliché reply, bending down to continue harvesting the remaining strawberries alongside her.

Seated in the courtyard, the two chatted while snacking on strawberries. Before they knew it, evening had come, and the sky began to darken.

"You’ve been drinking. How’re you going to drive back?" Han Qiwu asked, worried.

Tang Qingying smirked slyly and waved her phone: "Don’t worry, I found an old high school friend. She’ll drive me home."

"Ah, that’s good then," Han Qiwu replied, feeling a bit conflicted.

Noticing his reaction, Tang Qingying’s face lit up with amusement. She patted his shoulder and teased, "Wasn’t there talk of giving me honey last time? Where is it—did you secretly drink it all?"

"No such thing. I recently harvested some cliff honey," Han Qiwu said, standing up and heading to the kitchen to fetch the remaining honey before preparing a simple cup of honey water.

"Cliff honey? I’ve only heard friends mention it; I’ve never tried it before," Tang Qingying said expectantly, taking the cup and sipping slowly.

After a testing sip, her eyes lit up, and she eagerly finished the cup in one go. Happily, she remarked, "It’s delicious! I love this tangy-sweet honey."

"I’ll pack some for you later, but don’t drink too much every day," Han Qiwu cautioned.

Tang Qingying glanced at his long legs and nodded appreciatively.
