Chapter 958: [958] Doctors must be cautious when speaking to pregnant women

Listening to Teacher Lu’s complaint, Xie Wanying recalled the situation she had witnessed on the scene, which was not as simple as Teacher Lu had described. Teacher Lu was a boss; it was not possible that he could be confused about where he felt pain. Could it be that Teacher Lu wanted to downplay the severity of the situation?

Doctor Zhong listened to his senior colleague’s words and considered what to say next.

As he listened to their conversation, Fu Xinheng looked down and squinted at Teacher Lu. Over the phone, a student had described the patient as having acute abdominal symptoms, but now the patient himself said he just had a stomachache, which presented an obvious discrepancy.

Suddenly, a series of rapid footsteps echoed in the emergency corridor, with the person sounding almost like they were running.

"Dr. Tao," a nurse called from outside.

"Where is Teacher Lu?" Tao Zhijie asked, speaking quickly and appearing slightly anxious.

"Over there—"

Upon seeing the figure seated by the door, Tao Zhijie quickly approached.

Seeing Tao Zhijie appear startled Teacher Lu, who sat on the stool and shrank like a turtle pulling its head into its shell.

Tao Zhijie, having run over, caught his breath. His usually smiling eyes now lacked a smile and were as sharp as the edge of a peak, fixing on Teacher Lu, "Teacher, what’s wrong with you, where do you feel uncomfortable?"

Teacher Lu cleared his throat, frowned as if he was not too pleased with his appearance, and asked, "Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be working?"

"Teacher, you’re sick. How could I not come and see you?" Tao Zhijie replied.

"Did the emergency department call you?" Teacher Lu looked at Doctor Zhong, "Did you call him? What for? Isn’t it your shift today?"

Doctor Zhong was suddenly asked by his senior colleague and was momentarily at a loss. He looked back at Tao Zhijie with a gesture that seemed to say it wasn’t me who called you.

"Teacher, regardless of who called me, your current condition—" Tao Zhijie furrowed his brows and his sharp gaze didn’t leave the other person’s body.

"Wait." Teacher Lu told him to shut up for a moment, "Is Xiaobing’s ECG done? How is she?"

Everyone else’s attention was diverted back to Li Xiaobing.

Zhou Junpeng went through the ECG and seemed to find an issue at one point, so he pulled a new ECG sheet.

Feeling that something might be abnormal in the examination, Li Xiaobing’s facial muscles tensed up, revealing a trace of nervousness and anxiety.

Teacher Lu, upon seeing this, tried to stand up but was held down by a hand on his shoulder. Turning, he saw it was Tao Zhijie’s hand and complained, "Why are you holding me down?"

"This condition belongs to cardiology. Let Doctor Fu take a look," Tao Zhijie said, "Teacher, please sit down."

Hearing this, Li Xiaobing thought to herself: What the heck. So, the Boss thinks ’Robot’ should be responsible for her condition?

Teacher Lu, concerned about the pregnant woman, looked at Fu Xinheng, "What do you think this situation is?"

Fu Xinheng turned his head and his gaze suddenly met someone else’s.

The others saw that he was looking at Xie Wanying.

Being watched by Teacher Fu, Xie Wanying knew that the teacher probably wanted to ask about the specific details of senior fellow student Li’s earlier condition and walked over to answer.

"What were her symptoms before?" Fu Xinheng’s voice was very low, clearly not wanting to inform the pregnant woman of any news before the test results were completely clear and before communicating with the family.

The emotions of a pregnant woman are easily impacted, and once affected, it can significantly influence both her own health and the fetus, so doctors must be even more cautious when speaking.
