Chapter 858: Mr. and Mrs. Carter
Aria sighed softly as she raised her hand to adjust her tiara, only for Rachel to swat her palm.
"Don’t!" Rachel glared at her, warning her not to touch anything.
"I thought it was a little slant." Aria pouted, too scared to defy her sister-in-law. Rachel could be quite terrifying when she was angry.
"Your eyes are playing with you. The tiara is fine." Rachel didn’t allow her to move as she held her frozen in her spot.
Aria’s shoulders deflated and she accepted defeat immediately. Well, if she said so.
It was her wedding. But she had no say in it. Noah had planned everything, with Rachel’s assistance of course.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to involve herself in the arrangements. But she had been incredibly busy with work and hadn’t had much time. Moreover, she trusted Noah’s judgment and since the man had assured her to handle everything, she didn’t take the stress.
All Aria had to do was choose the perfect dress, dress up, look pretty, and attend her wedding. Everything else was handled by her man.
Aria felt guilty. She decided to make it up to him in the future by surprising him more and taking him out on dates.
"You look beautiful, sweetie," Oliver complimented for the nth time. On seeing his youngest daughter in a wedding dress, he was instantly reminded of his wife. She too had looked beautiful, maybe slightly more.
"Thanks, Dad." Aria beamed as she clutched the bouquet tight.
"Relax, Dad. You look more tense than the bride." Ivy massaged her father’s shoulders and helped him calm down a little.
"I can’t help it, dear. It’s Aria’s wedding. Our little girl is getting married." Oliver sniffled as he tried to hold his tears back.
This time, even Ivy was affected. After their father went missing, it had been just Aria and her. Although there hadn’t been much of a change after her sister started dating Noah, it wasn’t the same anymore.
Now, with her getting married, she would soon start her family and Ivy would have hers as well. But it was all for good. Their family was increasing and maybe in a few years, they would welcome the little ones to the world.
"Dad, you’re making us emotional." Aria was close to tearing up and Rachel handed her a bottle of water to calm her down.
"Don’t cry, dear bride. Otherwise, the groom will have my head," she teased and the air turned light instantly.
"He wouldn’t dare." Aria shook her head.
"Yeah, that’s why I’m sucking up to you. Only you can hold him back." Rachel winked at him and Aria let out a laugh.
Even Oliver smiled through his tears.
Rachel’s phone dinged and she understood at once that it was time.
"The ceremony is about to begin."
Rachel left the room first and joined Daniel while Ivy joined Joshua as they walked down the aisle as the maid of honor and the groomsman.
The music shifted and Oliver hooked Aria’s hand as they prepared for the entrance.
"I love you, sweetie."
"Love you too, Dad."
Aria sucked in a deep breath as they started walking. Although her eyes were on Noah, she didn’t miss how spectacular the entire place was.
Noah followed her wishes and organized the wedding in their garden. Nothing had changed. The place was as it was, just how she loved it. But with the wedding arrangements, it was filled with mystic vibes, making her feel as if she was in an enchanted forest. And with the cherry blossoms swaying gently with the wind, Aria had never been this entranced.
Soon, her attention was caught by the man who was waiting at the end of the aisle. Dressed in a cream three-piece suit that matched her dress, the man looked dapper and dashing.
Aria beamed when she met his eyes. The man was beguiled by her, just as she was by him. She was so lost in his eyes that she didn’t realize when she had reached the end.
It wasn’t until her palm felt the warmth of the man she loved that she snapped out of her stupor.
"You look incredible!" he whispered.
"You too," Aria mumbled back.
"Thank you, Dad." Noah nodded at Oliver who then took his seat.
Neither Aria nor Noah listened to what the officiant was saying. Their focus was on each other. But somehow they managed to hear him when the officiant popped the question and without hesitating, they gave their ’I dos’.
"You may now exchange the rings."
Noah and Aria slid the rings through each other’s ring fingers. Before the officiant could even announce, he pulled her in his embrace and kissed her lips.
"Well, looks like the groom can’t wait to kiss the bride. What’s the rush?" he teased and the audience burst out laughing.
"Let me pronounce them husband and wife before the husband does the job himself."
Once again, the audience laughed.
But Noah didn’t care. He continued to kiss his wife, his heart finally at peace. He had married the woman he loved. There wasn’t anything else he wanted.
"Hello, wife," he whispered, letting go of her lips.
"Hello, husband," Aria gushed, grinning at him.
But once she heard the hoots from the audience, her face blotched red in embarrassment. She covered her face, diving into Noah’s embrace.
"Mrs. Carter, I don’t think anyone will be interested in the food today," Joshua jested from behind and Aria raised her head at him, giving him a confused look.
"You two fed everyone dog food. Our stomachs are filled."
Aria let out a helpless laugh before she moved away from Noah. But she didn’t stop holding his hand as they proceeded to greet the guests.
"Grandpa," Aria greeted the old Carter first and the man grinned like a Chesire cat. He had stopped smiling since the ceremony had started.
"Good, good. Good child." The man blessed them. He didn’t raise the topic of having kids, allowing the couple to have their moment.
Since it was an intimate ceremony, only family and close friends were invited and the couple made sure to toast at each table, appreciating the presence of all the guests.
Following the fun, Aria stood with her bouquet while the ladies stood behind her.
"Ivy, get the bouquet for me," Joshua shouted while Ivy gave him a side-eye. Although she didn’t show it, she too was excited and wanted to snatch the bouquet.
At Rachel’s wedding, one of the bride’s friends from university had snagged it. Ivy hoped to catch it this time.
Aria turned around and the ladies prepared themselves. Not surprisingly, Ivy ended up catching the bouquet much to Joshua’s happiness and Ivy’s relief.
Once again, hoots and whistles filled the place and Aria gave Ivy a playful look while Ian patted Joshua’s shoulder.
"I hope you will not mess up this time."
"Never," Joshua replied with determination.
Aria and Noah were going on their honeymoon directly after the wedding. So, they didn’t have their wedding reception.
"Ready, Mrs. Carter." Noah held out his hand and led her to the car after they were done with lunch.
Aria waved at her family before she placed her hand in his. "Always, Mr. Carter."
