Chapter 855: Wedding bells (DaRa Couple)

"Are you nervous?" Aria asked Rachel who was tapping her feet anxiously.

"Very."

"Don’t be. It’s your day. Enjoy it," Ivy comforted her.

It was the wedding day, Rachel and Daniel’s wedding day and Rachel was waiting in the bride’s room for the ceremony to begin.

The past few weeks had elapsed faster than they could comprehend. With all the wedding shopping and arrangements, trials, and rehearsals, Rachel hadn’t had enough time to take a breather.

Although she wasn’t looking for a wedding of the century, she still wanted it to be perfect. So, Rachel had planned everything, including even the minute arrangements. The thrill and joy of her wedding made her feel as if she was walking on clouds. And as days passed, the excitement only grew.

Now that she was getting married, Rachel felt everything to be a dream. She was excited, nervous, happy - all at the same time. The feeling was indescribable and Rachel was having a hard time keeping herself in check.

A knock at the door caught their attention and Samuel and Hailey entered with Noah and Joshua behind them.

While the two young men had their eyes fixed on their women, the Carter couple was overwhelmed with tears when they saw their beautiful daughter in a wedding dress.

"You look gorgeous," Samuel could only manage to say after he swallowed a lump. His eyes welled up and he had tilted his head up to hold himself back from crying.

It was Rachel, his lovely daughter who was getting married. Although he was happy, somewhere in his heart he was worried and resentful. Even if he was satisfied with his son-in-law, he still felt annoyed.

Why did Daniel have to have his eye on his daughter? Could he not keep his daughter with him for a few more years? Does she have to get married this soon?

"Dad.." Rachel’s eyes teared up and she fanned her face to stop her tears.

"Samuel, look what you are doing. Don’t spoil our beautiful girl’s makeup," Hailey rebuked and hugged her daughter lightly, saving her dress from getting wrinkled. "You look stunning, dear."

"Thanks, Mom."

"Can’t you allow me to have my moment at least today?" Samuel grumbled before he too hugged his daughter. "You look gorgeous."

"Thanks, Dad." Rachel smiled and turned to Noah who was waiting for his turn.

Noah didn’t speak a word. He only hugged her and sighed softly. But that was enough, Rachel understood his sentiments well. He may not be a man who spoke much, but he would always be there for her. She was his dear sister.

"I love you, Rach."

"Love you too."

"It’s time," Joshua reminded, and Aria and Ivy stood up.

Ivy had been on physiotherapy and her legs gained mobility over time. Although she couldn’t walk for a long period, she could manage for a few minutes.

"Can you do it?" Joshua questioned as she hooked her arm in his.

"I’m fine." Ivy nodded, flashing him an assuring smile.

The music started playing and the door opened. The hall went silent as Daniel stood at the altar waiting for his bride.

Being the bridesmaids and the groomsmen, Ivy and Joshua followed by Aria and Noah walked the hall first.

"I love you, my dear." Samuel kissed Rachel’s cheek, controlling his emotions.

"Love you too, Dad."

As soon as the music changed, Samuel walked Rachel down the aisle while Hailey joined her father-in-law.

Daniel was dazzled and he couldn’t take his eyes away from Rachel. She was breathtaking and he was overwhelmed with a myriad of emotions. For a moment, he even wondered if it was all a dream. Was he really getting married to the love of his life?

Beaming in joy, he stepped forward and held out his hand and Samuel gave him a look of warning before he placed his daughter’s hand in his.

"Thank you, Dad." Daniel’s eyes were filled with confidence, determination, and promise and Samuel eventually changed his expression, suppressing his dissatisfaction behind his smile.

"You look fantastic." Daniel had no words to describe how beautiful Rachel looked. He was blown away by her and kept staring at her as if in a trance.

"You look handsome too," Rachel reciprocated. Daniel truly looked handsome in his white tuxedo, matching with her brilliantly.

The wedding officiant cleared his throat and started the ceremony.

While Aria and Noah remained behind Daniel and Rachel respectively, Joshua brought Ivy to sit down and rest.

Ivy knew her body’s condition. So, she didn’t fight with him on it and watched the ceremony proceed excitedly.

"Have I told you you look beautiful?" Joshua breathed by Ivy’s ears.

"Yep. This is the seventh time."

"Can’t help it. Have you seen yourself?"

Ivy didn’t disagree. She knew she looked good. Not just her, even Aria looked stunning. The dresses Rachel had chosen for them were outstanding.

While hers was an emerald-colored satin dress with white stones scattered on it, Aria’s was of the same pattern, only that it was maroon and had amber-colored stones.

"So?" Joshua quirked his brow at her and Ivy looked at him questioningly.

"So?" Ivy frowned, not understanding what he was referring to.

"What do you think about us getting married?" Joshua propped the question as he stared at her tenderly and Ivy rolled her eyes at him.

"Let’s think about it after a year or two. Now, focus on the wedding."

Joshua wasn’t disheartened. Ivy had accepted him, sure. But her heart was far from it. She would need time and he was willing to give her as much time as she wanted.

"I do," Rachel replied to the officiant’s question.

"You may now exchange the rings," the officiant said and Daniel and Rachel exchanged rings.

"I now pronounce you two husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

Cheers erupted in the hall and Daniel pulled Rachel toward him, wrapping an arm around her waist, and securing her in his embrace.

"I have been waiting to kiss you since I saw you walk down the aisle," he whispered and kissed her lips.

Bearing the audience in mind, he didn’t deepen the kiss. He let go of her after a few seconds.

"Did you plan this all along?" Jonathan questioned, his eyes not moving away from the newlywed couple.

"What are you talking about, Grandpa?" Noah genuinely had no idea what his old man was referring to.

"Arnold Adler? Did you plan it?"

"I just gave a light push. Mr. Adler is capable himself."

Jonathan didn’t disagree. Arnold was a capable man. He had seen it himself. Otherwise, his law firm wouldn’t have risen to be the best in the country. With him now contesting for the Presidential elections, his abilities spoke for him.

"Will he win?"

"Definitely. His opponent is nothing before him." Noah scoffed when he thought of Luis Truman, the man contesting against Arnold. "Congratulations, Grandpa. You are now in-laws with the future President."

"What about you?" Jonathan diverted the topic and looked at his grandson strangely.

"What about me?"

"When are you getting married?"

Noah smiled faintly as he eyed Aria who was speaking to Maggie some distance away.

"Soon, Grandpa. Soon."

"That means..." Jonathan’s eyes lit up and he sat straight in alert.

"Shh, Grandpa. Keep it a secret." Noah winked at him before he stood up to congratulate the newlywed couple.
