Chapter 825: Honeymoon plans

Chapter 825: Honeymoon plans

Noah stared at Aria who was deep asleep for the first time in weeks. No nightmares haunted her, nor did she wake up crying or screaming or that was what he thought until he saw Aria flinch in her sleep. Immediately after, she started moving restlessly.

Noah didn’t even think twice. Aria was having the nightmare again and his heart ached to see her suffer. How he wished to take her all agony away. He wanted her to be happy always. That was what she deserved, not nightmares and frights. She didn’t deserve that.

"Don’t..." Aria shook as she started crying and Noah realized it was time to wake her up.

"Aria!" He moved closer to her and held her in his arms. "Aria, sweetheart, please wake up."

"Ivy, please..." Aria cried as she continued to move her head.

"Aria, please wake up. It’s me, Noah. Everything is fine. We are fine." Noah tried to wake her up and wiped her tears. "Ivy is fine. She is with us."

"Don’t hurt her, please," Aria begged again and continued crying.

Noah’s voice didn’t even reach her and he had no choice but to speak louder.

"Aria!" he shouted and this time, she heard him and woke up with a start.

"Ivy!" Aria screamed and looked ahead blankly.

"Aria, it’s me, Noah. Everything’s fine. We are fine," Noah assured her again and pulled her close until she was in his embrace with her face pressed against his chest.

"Noah?" Aria looked at the man blankly.

"I’m here." Noah rubbed her back and waited for her to gain her senses back.

"I thought... I thought..." Aria’s lips trembled and she hugged him back instantly, seeking his warmth greedily. Her body had gone cold like it usually did whenever she had a nightmare.

"Shh, everything’s alright. I promise. You have nothing to worry about." Noah continued to rub her back as he warmed her up.

Nobody spoke a word for quite some time. While Noah was waiting for Aria to return to normal, Aria snuggled deeper in his embrace and warmed up her cold body, relieved that it was all a nightmare and everything was fine.

Only after a few minutes had passed, Aria recalled their meeting with Ian and she pulled away immediately but remained in his arms.

"What about Ethan?" she asked with a hoarse voice.

"He has agreed to help us and has gone to make arrangements. Deputy will assist him in the mission," Noah promised and Aria nodded.

"I’m sorry about that. I didn’t know when I fell asleep." Aria gave him a sheepish look and lowered her head in embarrassment.

"You don’t have to apologize, Aria. We all understand. And to be honest, you didn’t fall asleep on your own. Ian had to induce a sedative." Noah didn’t hide the truth from her. She had to know what was happening to get well soon.

"Why? I didn’t need any sedatives. Why did he give me one?" Aria was confused. She couldn’t comprehend why she was given a sedative when she was perfectly fine.

"Aria," Noah hesitated. He didn’t know how to tell her about her PTSD. "You were hallucinating down there and Ian feels that you’re suffering from PTSD."

Noah looked at her carefully, searching for any signs of agitation or anger. However, to his surprise, Aria’s reaction was completely different than what he had expected.

"Ohh, that explains everything. PTSD it is." Aria nodded in acceptance. "Looks like I need to see a therapist."

"I have already booked an appointment for tomorrow," Noah stated and Aria nodded again before returning to lean against his chest.

"I must have scared you," she mumbled and sucked in a deep breath to stop her runny nose. "I’m sorry."

"No, Aria. Please don’t apologize. It’s not your fault. I should have noticed it sooner." Noah stopped her before she drowned herself in guilt.

Aria sighed and let out a tired yawn.

"Want to sleep some more?" Noah heard her yawn and smiled softly.

"No. I’m hungry. Can you prepare something good for me?" Aria asked innocently, making Noah’s smile widen.

"Sure. What do you want to eat?" Noah didn’t let her go and waited for her to finish.

"I don’t know. I’m fine with anything you prepare." Aria was confused. She couldn’t decide what she wanted to eat. Anyway, it didn’t matter to her much. Noah was an excellent chef. Anything he prepared would be delicious.

"Fine. Let’s go down. I whip up something amazing for you."

Aria giggled and let go of him before the couple made their way down.

No one was around. Ian had gone to the hospital while Ivy was still sleeping. Oliver too had gone to rest for some time and Joshua... they didn’t know where he was.

Noah led Aria to the kitchen counter. "Let me prepare something for you real quick."

Aria leaned against the counter as she watched Noah busy himself in the kitchen.

"I must have saved a nation in my previous life," She stated suddenly and Noah paused for a moment.

"Why do you say so?"

"That’s why I got such an amazing boyfriend," She declared, making Noah smile in joy.

"I don’t know about the previous life. But you did save our nation in this life."

"Then, I guess we’ll end up together in our next lives as well."

"There is no doubt about that," Noah affirmed and retrieved a packet of pasta from one of the cupboards. "Are you okay with pasta?"

Aria nodded.

"I must have saved the world then ’cause I have you." He flashed a playful smile and winked at her.

"Maybe." Aria shrugged. "Who knows?" Even though she was trying to be nonchalant, her jubilant eyes said it all.

"Noah?"

"Hmm?"

"I was thinking..." Aria started, gaining Noah’s attention to her for a second. "Why don’t we all go on a trip or something?"

"Trip?"

"Yes, not immediately. But once everything ends. Once the danger around us is no more."

"We can do that. Where do you want to go?" Noah was curious. He wanted to fulfill all of her wishes.

"Well, New Zealand is out of the question ’cause it’ll be a girl’s only trip."

"Hey, that’s not fair," Noah protested. But Aria gave him a deaf ear.

"I want to go to Switzerland, Greece and Finland, Finland, especially for the northern lights. But let’s keep it for our honeymoon." Aria mused loud enough for Noah to hear and his eyes lit up instantly.

"Did you just say honeymoon?" he asked, his tone filled with excitement.

Once again, Aria ignored him.

"Why don’t we all go to Italy? We’ll have a lot to explore."

"Italy? That works for me." Noah didn’t mind the place at all. If he was with Aria, he was willing to even go to his enemy’s house. He just had to kill them. That’s all.

"Great. Italy, it is." Aria raised her hands in delight and Noah burst out laughing.

"By the way, what were you saying a few seconds ago?" Noah questioned as he added the cooked pasta to the cream.

"What did I say?" Aria feigned ignorance even if she knew what he was referring to.

"Something about our honeymoon," Noah probed.

"Did I? Why don’t I remember?" Aria still didn’t give in and frowned as if she was puzzled and didn’t remember speaking as such.

"You wanted to go to Switzerland, Greece, and then to Finland to watch the northern lights." He didn’t let it go just like that.

"Ohh, did I?" Aria didn’t accept defeat and saw Noah turn around as he set the heat to low mode before sauntering towards her.

"Do you want me to help you recollect?"

Aria nodded her head at first but shook it later when she saw his devilish expression. It seemed as if he was ready to eat her up at any moment.

"I’m hungry." Aria tried to change the topic. But Noah was having none of it.

"The pasta is almost done. Give it a few more minutes. Until then, let’s talk about your honeymoon plans."

"It’s not like it’s only my honeymoon plans. Will you not be with me?" she grumbled and Noah’s lips curved up on one side into a smirk.

"Now you’re on the track. So, tell me more about it." Noah leaned on the counter until he was at eye level with Aria.

"What do you want to know?" Aria understood that she couldn’t evade the topic anymore. Noah wouldn’t allow her to. "By the way, do you have any destinations in mind?"

"For our honeymoon?"

Aria nodded.

"It doesn’t matter. Anyway, we’ll not be leaving our room much."

Aria narrowed her eyes and glared at him.

"Then, there is no need to go out at all. Why should we waste money?"

"That’s right. We can remain cooped up in our room all the time. Aria, you’re so caring and smart. You’re already thinking of ways to save our money. How amazing!"

Noah then turned around and returned to his pasta while Aria gnashed her teeth in fury.

"Fine. You stay at home. I’ll go on my honeymoon alone."

"No way. No chance." Noah rejected her thought immediately. "I’ll go wherever you go. After all, it’s our honeymoon."

"Is the pasta ready? I’m famished." Aria couldn’t win against him. So, she gave up arguing.

"Yes, Ma’am." Noah picked up the bowl containing the pasta while Aria moved to arrange the dining table. She had no idea Noah had already started making plans go to Switzerland, Greece, and Finland.
