Chapter 774: Rescued? - Part 2

None of the men dared to take a step forward and they turned around at once. A sudden gush of wind passed by them unsurprisingly and they heard a loud cry of anguish which broke them apart.

Joshua had tears in his eyes as he saw the state Ivy was in. The pool of blood around her was a ghastly sight and he felt his entire world crumbling down. A pain so terrible that it suffocated him spread through his heart and he knelt beside her. Extending his trembling hands, he tried to hold the girl who had planned a surprise for him the morning but now lay before him in a pool of her blood. He had no idea if she was even dead or alive and the thought of losing her tore his heart.

With quivering hands, he turned her around, ignoring the blood that coated his arms. It was one thing to see her this way while she had her face down. But it was another matter altogether to look at her face that was covered in blood.

Joshua felt his body run cold and tears that he had been holding with great strength tumbled down instantly. "Ivy!" He screamed in such pain that all the men standing behind him felt it.

"She’s alive, Jo. Cover her up first." Ian ordered hastily.

Joshua had no idea when Ian had even come to them. The girl who had loved him wholeheartedly now lay wounded before him and he could do nothing about it. It pained him and a sense of self-loathing started to ignite in his heart. It was all his fault, it was he who pushed her into the arms of danger.

Even though he was shattering from within, the moment he heard that Ivy was still there, his body jerked in response and he removed his jacket instantly. However, he could only manage to cover her torso. The rest of her body was still bare.

"Give me your jacket." He extended his hand towards Ian who was checking her pulse and Ian did as he was asked without questions.

"We’ll have to go to the hospital. I can barely detect her pulse. She’s slipping in and out. We need to hurry up." He glanced at Noah who was catering to an unconscious Aria while Ronnie and two other men helped Stuart up. None of the three people seemed to be in a good state. But Ivy had it worse.

While with Aria and Stuart, he could see them breathing. Their chests were at least moving. But Ivy.... She was barely moving. Heck, there was no movement at all.

"Please, Ivy. Please stay with us." Ian begged while Joshua lifted her carefully.

"Ronnie, what about the choppers?" Ian knew neither Noah nor Joshua was in the state to command the men. They were too devastated to handle such a responsibility at that moment. So, without a word, he took it upon himself to deal with everything even though his state was no less miserable than theirs.

Aria and Ivy might be Noah and Joshua’s girlfriends respectively. But they were his friends as well, his family and to see them in such a situation made him feel horrible.

"Yes, Doctor Davis. All choppers are on standby." Ronnie responded, his voice filled with an emotion no one had ever witnessed before.

"Good. We need to hurry up. Joshua, Noah, get going."

Nobody had to be told twice, the three men sprinted out of the place as they held the three unconscious people.

"Burn this place down," Ian ordered the men coldly before he followed them.

In no time, they reached the hospital, and during the entire journey, Ian had been trying to find out from where exactly Ivy was bleeding. But the blood on her face made it impossible for him to find her wounds. He couldn’t even catch her pulse. The only thing that kept him holding on was that her body was still warm. They had not lost her completely.

The three people were wheeled inside the hospital and the doctors who were on standby felt the hair on their bodies raise in alarm as they saw the patients. Yet, none of them commented about it and they got to work immediately.

Joshua was unwilling to let go of Ivy. He just didn’t want to leave her. He had committed the biggest mistake of his life, a sin by letting her go once. He didn’t wish to repeat it. But when Ian pressed on his shoulder, he reluctantly let go of her.

While Ivy was wheeled inside the OT right away, Aria and Stuart were pushed to take a full body scan. Joshua remained outside the OT while Noah followed Aria and Ronnie took charge of Stuart. Ian had taken over the job of supervising everything.

How he wished to enter the OT as well and operate on Ivy himself. But he knew he was not in the state to handle the surgery. He could barely maintain his composure and his hands had not stopped trembling since he had first seen Ivy’s state. He couldn’t operate on Ivy in the state he was in.

"Please just be fine, Ivy. Please." Ian looked around and felt his eyes sting. But he controlled himself. At least, one of them had to be rational and calm. Two of his friends were already losing it, especially Joshua.

At least, Aria would be alive. He knew it. Her wounds seemed superficial. But Ivy.... He didn’t know if she could even survive the surgery.

Ian let out a deep breath and stared at his blood-covered hands. "Shit!" He gasped when he realized he had to inform Oliver.

But he hesitated immediately. How could he tell Oliver about his daughters’ situation when he knew that it’d kill him eventually? He was not that courageous to do it. However, he had no other option as well. He had to inform him. He first washed his hands to remove Ivy’s blood before he dialed Oliver’s number with shaky hands.

Meanwhile, Joshua stood right outside the OT as he stared at the closed doors blankly. His world was on the other side and he just prayed she’d survive the surgery.

’Please return to us, Ivy. I promise I’ll do everything you say. Everything. Just stay with us.’
