Chapter 767: Tracking Ivy

It was not until Ivy was out of the mansion that she broke down completely and tears spilled out of her eyes. The pain in her heart was intense and she was having a hard time keeping her eyes open. However, she held on. Her relationship with Joshua was over. From now onwards, she and him...

Ivy suddenly laughed as she thought about the time she had spoken to Aria about proposing to Joshua. ’I’m a fool. I’m utterly a fool. I should’ve known given Joshua’s history in love. Why did I even assume that I’d have a future with him? I am a fool.’

Even though she was smiling, her teary eyes were filled with anguish. Despite being broken from within, she did not show her vulnerability to anyone.

Ivy licked her lips which had gone dry and looked behind her, staring at the mansion that had once been her home. Steeling her heart, she entered the garage. Since she’d not be living in the mansion anymore, there was no use for her motorbike to stay there too.

Other than the guards who were protecting the people inside the mansion no one knew that Ivy was outside. They frowned as they watched her ride her bike away without informing anyone.

’Didn’t the lady inform us that she’d not be leaving the mansion today? What happened all of a sudden?’

They searched for Kaito. But the man was nowhere in sight. Usually, Kaito would follow her every time she left the house. But now, she was all alone.

None of the guards knew what had happened. But they didn’t dare delay the matter. So, they called Kaito right away.

Kaito, who had retired for the night, had no idea about the incident that had transpired outside. Being a light sleeper, he woke up the moment his phone rang and his heart dropped when he heard one of the guards speak about Ivy leaving the mansion without informing him.

He jumped out of bed immediately and even without changing out of his pajamas, he ran out of the guest house where the guards rested. He didn’t waste time by checking the matter with Joshua and drove the car he usually used every time he followed Ivy.

On the way, however, he kept calling Ivy. But she did not pick up any of his calls. Vexed, he dialed Joshua’s number. But he too didn’t pick up any of his calls.

Kaito didn’t know where Ivy was heading towards. So, he tried to track her phone using his phone like he usually did every time he followed her to work. He was utterly stunned when the location pointed towards the mansion he had just come out from.

Kaito cursed under his breath when he realized that Ivy had not taken her phone with her. Finding the situation utterly strange, he called Noah, his Boss. To his dismay, however, he too did not pick up his call.

"Where is everyone? Why is no one picking up my call?" Kaito was frustrated beyond belief and he kept calling the three people one by one. By in futile. No one picked up his calls.

Kaito didn’t know in which direction Ivy had gone. Not knowing what else to do, he searched for numbers he could call at that moment and the first contact he saw was Aria’s. He remembered that he had saved her number when they were in London.

Without wasting another moment, he called her and prayed for her to pick up his call. Fortunately for him, Aria picked up his call after two rings. Kaito wanted to cry tears of joy when he heard her voice.

"Madam," His panicked voice surprised Aria all the more. She was already astonished to find Kaito calling her all of a sudden and that too at this time of the night. She was preparing to sleep when he called her.

"What’s wrong, Kaito? What happened?"

"Madam, Miss West left the mansion without informing me and she’s all alone. I don’t know where she is right now. Her phone is at home and neither Master Martin nor Boss is picking up my calls. I don’t know what to do."

"What do you mean? How can she leave the mansion? Wasn’t she celebrating Joshua’s birthday today? How can she leave the mansion?"

"I too don’t know, Madam. I was in a hurry. So, I didn’t speak to Master Martin before I left. I don’t know where Miss West is." Kaito blabbered and hearing his panicked tone, Aria herself became anxious.

"Let me try calling Joshua. Maybe he’ll pick up my calls. In the meanwhile, call one of the guards in Joshua’s mansion. He can speak to Joshua and ask him to pick up your calls."

"Blimey, how could I have not thought about this?" Kaito immediately got to work while Aria called Joshua. But as Kaito had told her, he didn’t pick up any of her calls.

Aria was completely vexed and she hurried out of her bed. Changing out of her nightdress, she ran out, startling the guards who were keeping an eye on the mansion.

Aria did not say a word to them. But they knew what to do. Since their Boss and Ronnie were both not in the mansion, it now lay upon them to protect her and a group of guards followed her out of the mansion immediately.

Meanwhile, Kaito called one of the guards back in Joshua’s mansion and pleaded with him to get him to speak to Joshua. The guard, perceiving the severity of the situation, didn’t dare hesitate and ran inside the mansion without caring about anything else.

Joshua was completely oblivious to the mayhem the outside world was in. He stared at the cake on the table and Ivy’s teary face flashed before his eyes. The tears he had withheld for a long time finally fell and he couldn’t control himself. His heart was utterly in pain, and in his anguish, he picked up the cake and smashed it to the ground.

Next, he kicked the candles around him, destroying the decorations Ivy had done exclusively for him. He yelled in misery, his temperament nothing less than a deranged but wounded animal. He was utterly devastated and couldn’t forget the look Ivy had given him before she left him, forever.

The guard was shocked to see the state the poolside was in. Even though the entire mansion was dimly lit, it was easy for him to locate his Boss. Only the poolside was lit brightly. Suppressing his shock and ignoring the state the place was in, he entered the poolside.

"Master Martin."

His voice brought Joshua out of his stupor.

"Who allowed you to come here? Get out. Get out of here." He hollered, scaring the shit out of the guard. But he didn’t dare leave. The situation was grave and he had to get the man to speak to Kaito.

"Master Martin," He braced himself and spoke again. "Kaito is on the phone. Miss West has left the mansion without informing anyone and we’re unable to track her."

"Fuck!" Joshua dashed towards the guard, his heart pounding madly in fear. He snatched the phone from him and answered the call right away.

"Kaito?"

"Master Martin, did Miss West tell you where she is going? I’m unable to track her and her phone is back at the mansion. She left without informing me or anyone else." Kaito explained.

"Ivy must have gone to her sister. Let me call her." Joshua’s worry for Ivy overtook the pain he was in.

"Master Martin, I just spoke to Madam. She’s on her way here."

"Okay. Okay. I’ll call Aria."

Joshua ended the call and handed the phone back to the guard. He then pulled out his phone and it was only then he noticed the number of calls he had received. While most of them were from Kaito, Aria had also called him a lot of times.

Joshua’s hands trembled and he dialed Aria’s number immediately.

"Joshua, where the hell have you been?’ Aria almost screamed. She was out of mind and only she knew how she drove sanely on the road. Joshua was picking up none of her calls and she had no idea where Ivy was.

"What the hell happened? Why is Ivy out of the mansion at this time of the night?" Aria questioned, her tone not hiding her worry and trepidation.

"Is it due to work? Did something happen? Did she go out because she got a lead?" Aria questioned and Joshua felt a pang of guilt hit his heart.

"Why didn’t she inform anyone before she left the mansion?" Aria didn’t hide her annoyance and Joshua’s guilt increased all the more.

"Aria," He intervened and Aria stopped complaining. "It was me."

"What?" Aria was stupefied and she lost control of the car for a moment.

"Ivy and I..." Joshua hesitated but eventually decided to come clean before her. "We broke up."

This time Aria couldn’t control the car anymore and swerved towards the side the next instant. She braked hard before she lost control and hit someone on the road.

"What did you just say?" Aria felt her mind explode in shock.

"We broke up. I’ll explain later. We need to find Ivy first."

"You..." Even though Aria was livid, finding Ivy was her priority. So, she did not argue with him. "I’m nearby. I’ll be at your house soon."

"Do you think Ivy has gone to meet you or..." Joshua stopped when he realized he was about to call Oliver Dad like he usually did.

"If she was, she’d have reached our house by now."

"Is it possible that she has gone to your old apartment?"

"Possible. Could you send someone to our apartment as well as our old house? I don’t know where else she could be at this time. I can’t think of any other place."

"I’m on it. I’ll send the guards to your apartment and your old house." Joshua looked at the guard and he understood immediately what he was supposed to do.

Aria was close to Joshua’s house. She took deep breaths to calm herself down and started the car again. Though she was emotionally unstable, she couldn’t lose control.

Steadily yet quickly, she drove towards Joshua’s mansion. But just when she was about to reach the place, her phone rang again, only this time it was Stuart calling her.

Aria frowned, not having the strength to speak to him in the predicament she was in but nonetheless, she still picked up the call.

"Stuart, I’m in a hurry. I’ll call you..."

"Aria, I saw Ivy just now."

"What? Where is she?" Aria held her breath and stopped the car again, startling the guards behind her once again. Though they didn’t know what had happened, they could more or less analyze the situation. They knew that something huge had happened and their Madam was overwhelmed with anxiety.

"She was kidnapped by some people," Stuart revealed and Aria felt her heart drop in fear. "I’m following her. I’ll send you the location."

"Please follow her, Stuart. I’ll be there soon."

"Yes, Aria. Please call for backup as well. The people seem dangerous and they were heavily armed."

Aria ended the call and opened the live location Stuart had sent her. She now realized why Kaito had been unable to track Ivy. He had taken the opposite path and Ivy had gone in another direction.
