Falling For My Accidental CEO Husband -
Chapter 51: Thinking
Chapter 51: Thinking
"You are right. She has been injected with a sedative."
Aiden cursed as he looked at her sleeping form! The situation was spiraling out of control, and he couldn’t afford any more complications. They had to avoid all kinds of trauma due to her mental health anyway and now, if Grandma were to discover what had happened, things would be even worse.
"Don’t worry. The sedative was not too strong. She should wake up in about thirty minutes."
"Thanks, doctor. And I would appreciate it if you keep this matter to yourself."
The doctor nodded and left quietly but Aiden was not as calm as he seemed to be. Tonight he’d been shaken by the intensity of his own anger at finding his father had tried to harm Serena! That old man had done much more horrible things in the past with any girl he’d dated but the thought of him trying to do any of those things to Serena made his stomach churn. He needed to teach that old man a lesson that he wouldn’t forget.
Before he could make a move, however, Serena stirred on the bed. Hurriedly, he went to her side, only for her to jerk up in bed, ready to attack him. He stepped back, hand raised, "Relax, Its me."
She blinked at him but did not back down as she continued to remain alert.
Her eyes, still heavy with the effects of the sedative, darted around the room. Her breathing was rapid, and she seemed disoriented, struggling to piece together her surroundings. Aiden took another step back, giving her space while keeping his voice calm and steady.
"It’s okay, Serena," he said gently. "You’re safe. It’s me. You are in my room."
She seemed to slump down on the bed as she realized she really was safe and he stepped closer, hating the air of vulnerability around her. He closed the distance between them, and climbed onto the bed, gently pulling her so that her head was on his arm as he lay back down with her. Gently, he brused her hair back and tapped her nose," You are safe. You will be fine in the morning. Just calm down."
As he said this, he patted her head, as if soothing an agitated animal and sighed in relief when she seemed to accept his ministrations. Slowly she rested her head on his chest and he could still feel her tremble.
"Shh, it’s okay," he murmured into her hair. "You’re safe. I’m here."
Serena’s voice was a faint whisper, but he could hear the tremor in her words. "Aiden... your father... he..."
"I know what he did. He will be punished for harming you..."
Serena shook her head," No no. He is planning to harm Grandma..."
As Serena slowly explained the entire matter, Aiden’s eyes hardened. He needed to make sure that Charles Hawk would be taught a lesson that he wouldn’t forget.

"What were you thinking, Charles. Did you really think that Aiden would believe you when you said that she walked into your bedroom? What are you doing now? Why are you packing? Will you at least tell me something?"
"Will you stop yapping and start packing? The moment Serena awakes and tells Aiden everything, that boy is going to come after us guns blazing. And how would I have known that he would react so wildly? I was only checking..."
"What were you checking by kidnapping her and bringing her to your room?" Milli asked as she started to pack. Even though she was worried about Aiden’s retaliation, it was not much. After all, he wouldn’t go over the limits as long as his dear old grandmother was alive acting as a shield between him and them.
"The last time I seduced his girlfriend, he walked away without a second glance," Charles said, his grin widening with dark satisfaction. "But this time, he didn’t even question her. Isn’t that something?"
He married her, so of course he’s going to trust her implicitly," Milli said, trying to make sense of his actions.
"Yes, but don’t you think there’s something peculiar about their behavior?" Charles’s grin turned into a smirk.
"What do you mean?" Milli asked, confusion evident in her voice.
But Charles grinned and waved away her question. I’ll tell you later. For now, know this my original plan to have her kidnapped may have failed, but I think I’ve finally discovered a weakness in Aiden," Charles finished, his eyes gleaming with malicious intent. "And it’s her."
"So? How are you planning to exploit this weakness when you are already running away..."
Charles’s smile widened, his mind already racing with new schemes. "You’ll see. I have a few ideas that should make Aiden’s life very difficult. We’re not done yet. Hush up! Now is not the time. Lets make a move. We have to leave the country until his fury subsides. "Also, here, take this..."
"What is this?" Milli looked down at the small packet which he shoved into her hands with distaste. "Why have you taken her hair?"
"Because it is something that might help us in the future. Millie, ever since I saw her, I had an inkling that I had seen her somewhere. And if my guess is correct, and this lock of hair will help determine that, then it will be the downfall of Aiden’s reign on Hawk Industries!"
"Come on come on. Lets go. We need to beg someone for help..."

In the deep of the night, Charles and Millie Hawk, knocked on the door of a palace, seeking shelter and protection and as the butler looked down on them, the two exchanged a glance before passing something to the butler as Charles leaned forward whispered something. The butler frowned and nodded, looking at them doubrfully before going inside.
A few minutes later, the butler returned," You are invited to be a guest at the Price residence for a few days... But be careful. If your information is not true, then you might not be able to leave..."
Charles and Millie exchanged a worried glance but nodded and entered the palace...
