Falling For My Accidental CEO Husband
Chapter 41: Wedding Pictures

Chapter 41: Wedding Pictures

"Grandma! Do we have to do this?" Serena whined when she looked at Grandma. When grandma asked her to accompany her shopping, she had expected to shop something for her. Not for herself.

And certainly not for bridal dresses. Grandma nodded sagely," Of course we have to do this, Serena child. "Next week, we are having your wedding celebration and there is not a single picture of the both of you together! Forget a wedding picture but not a single picture. What kind of a couple are you? In this day of all pictures, the two of you were like an old couple, not even having a single picture together? Hmpf."

Serena looked away as she shut her mouth. Considering the fact that the two of them had never even met before she woke up in the hospital, having couple pictures was of course impossible.

"Serena, child, you must understand. This isn’t just about some silly tradition or just pictures. These photos will be something you’ll look back on—something your children will look back on. Imagine them growing up and asking why there aren’t any pictures of their parents looking happy, in love. They’ll think you two lived in ancient times, like you were too busy surviving to snap a picture or two."

Serena blushed at that and hurriedly stood up, still trying to protest one last time, " But grandma..."

"No buts!" Grandma cut her off, wagging a finger. "We’re not just getting a few wedding photos. Oh no, we’re doing a full couple’s photoshoot! The kind where you two look like you’re madly in love—because that’s what you are, right?" Grandma raised an eyebrow, daring Serena to argue.

Serena nodded and walked away. Grandma was dangerous. It was better to choose a dress and go with whatever she said. No wonder she was considered formidable in the business world. The woman was like a steam roller, making everything go in her direction.

Mabel Hawk watched her granddaughter in law walk around the store and quickly mode another call," Come here, you little rascal. I know I asked An to schedule this in."

Aiden grimaced as he looked up at the large mall, already regretting telling An that he should always accomodate Grandma. Now he’d ended up in some mall when he should be working.

"I’ve reached Grandma! I’ll be there."

Hearing that Aiden was on his way, Mabel Hawk couldn’t help but smirk. She winked at an assistant who had been hovering nearby, waiting for her cue. The young woman immediately nodded and approached Mabel with a courteous smile.

"Madam, would you like to rest for a little while? We have a private lounge inside where you can relax."

"That sounds lovely, dear. Serena, I’m going to take a little break. You go ahead and keep looking around. I’ll be just inside if you need me," she said, already heading toward the lounge with the assistant by her side.

Serena nodded absently, feeling relieved. Now, she could simply choose a simple dress without having Grandma’s eagle eye on her and get this entire thing over with.

But before she could even sigh in relief, another assistant appeared beside her, holding a dress carefully draped over her arm. "Mrs Hawk," the assistant said, "Madam Hawk specifically requested that you try this on. She said it would be perfect for the photoshoot."

Serena eyed the dress skeptically. It was a beautiful piece, something that she would have definitely chosen for herself if she had really been madly in love.. But for this... It was too sheer and delicate.

And yet, she could not help but resist it. What was the harm in trying? It was only for grandmother anyway...

As she tried on the dress, she couldn’t deny that the dress was stunning, with its intricate lacework and elegant design. But as she tried to zip it up, Serena quickly realized there was a problem—the zipper was positioned on the side and she couldn’t quite pull it up, no matter how much she twisted and turned.

Frustrated, she called out, "Excuse me! Can someone help me, please?" But there was no reply. Serena frowned, glancing around the small fitting room as if expecting an assistant to materialize from thin air.

But she was only met with silence. She tried again, raising her voice slightly, "Hello? I need a little help in here!"

Still, nothing. What the? Just a few moments ago, the assistants had all been hovering around her and now that she was inside, did they all disappear?

Reluctantly, Serena peeked outside, hoping to spot someone nearby. She kept one hand on the dress to hold it in place, pushing the curtain aside with the other.

But instead of finding a helpful assistant, she found herself standing face to face with Aiden.

Her eyes widened in surprise, and her breath caught in her throat. Aiden’s expression mirrored her shock as if he was not expecting the curtain to open up suddenly. Her hand, which had been holding the dress in place, instinctively flew to her mouth.

"Aiden!" she finally managed to squeak, her voice muffled behind her hand. "What are you doing here?"

In the next minute, she watched as his gaze was drawn to her half-dressed form, specifically where the dress was already threatening to slip down with nothing to hold it. She quickly moved her hand to stop the dress from slipping off and flashing him as she stared at him.

"Grandma called me to... help, I suppose," he said, his voice slightly strained as he averted his eyes. "But I didn’t expect to be needed quite like this."

Serena blushed, and looked away as she tried to explain," I was just trying on the dress that Grandma gave but the zipper wouldn’t move... Can you call for the assistant?"

However, in the next moment, Aiden looked up into her eyes and took a step forward. Widening her eyes, she took a step back as she hissed," What are you doing?

Without a word, he continued to walk into the small space and then closed the curtain..."Let me help..."
