"I can’t believe they’ve lost the files. In fact, I refuse to believe that files like that could just go missing!" Serena murmured as they walked out of the police station, empty-handed and frustrated. Aiden, on the other hand, remained silent, keeping his thoughts to himself. As a matter of fact, he too, found it hard to accept that such an important case file had not just been misplaced, but that there was no backup record of it anywhere. The coincidence was too striking.

There was a possibility that the files had been hidden. Possibly to hide something scandalous. Whether it was related to Serena or not, they couln’t be sure. So, until they had more information, there was no point in creating a scene.

Serena, still fuming, pulled out her phone in a huff. "Look at this!" she exclaimed, showing Aiden an image on the screen. "Look at the huge pileup in last year’s news! I was in this! I almost died, and now the police claim they have no record of it?" Her voice was edged with disbelief even now, as shocked as she’d been when the police had informed them of this after making them wait for hours on end.

But even after venting and kicking the pavement, she was not satisfied. She needed someone to direct her anger toward, and of course, Aiden was the closest target. Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks and pointed a finger directly at him. "You!" she accused, her voice trembed with pent-up emotion.

Aiden raised an eyebrow at the accusing tone," What?"

"You are a billionaire, aren’t you? Can’t you use the money to get bribe them or something?"

Aiden sighed and shook his head," The number of zeroes in my bank account do not make me above the law, unfortunately."

Serena rolled her eyes. "That’s disappointing. What good is all that money if you can’t make the universe bend to your will?" She then muttered under her breath," He can’t do something like this. And then he thinks he is all that..."

Aiden chuckled at her muttered words and he was about to assure her that he would definitely look into the matter but before he could, Serena suddenly winced, and her hand shot to her leg as she stumbled forward. "Ow!" she gasped, as she lost her balance and fell face forward.

Aiden’s reflexes kicked in, and he reached out to catch her just before she her face could meet the concrete road. "Are you okay?" He asked her even as she moaned in pain. With one hand still around her, he bent down a bit to look at her and asked," What happened to you?"

Gasping for breath from the pain, Serena muttered out," Its a cramp..."

"A cramp? Where?" he asked, his voice laced with worry as he tightened his hold on her to to help her steady herself.

Serena, still grimacing from the pain, was about to respond when she realized something awkward. Clearing her throat, she said," Aiden...that is most certainly not where it is cramping..."

His hand—the holding her up—was currently resting somewhere it shouldn’t be. She glanced down and he followed her gaze, then back up at him with a raised eyebrow, trying to manage a wry smile despite everything.

When it hit him where his hand was, his eyes widened in horror even as his fingers flinched off their own accord, feeling the softness... that he shouldn’t be feeling. Hurriedly, he pulled back his hand and almost caused Serena to really free fall this time as he realized what had happened.

Quickly, he helped Serena to a nearby bench and apologized," I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to touch your... uhmmm." He gestured vaguely.

"Touch my B**bs?" Serena completed the sentence for him and watched as he almost turned red.

"Yeah. Uh. That. Touch you there. I’m sorry."

Despite the pain, Serena chuckled and shook her head," Relax! If you hadn’t grabbed them, I would have fallen and hurt myself even more...So, thank you for grabbing my bo*bies, Aiden."

Aiden sent a horrified glance her way when a woman passing by heard the comment and sent a glaring look at him and her.

Getting a control of himself, he scowled at her and warned," You! You better keep quiet! At least think before you speak! You have no filter."

Despite the pain, Serena couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction, which only made her wince more. To distract himself from his own blunder, Aiden quickly knelt in front of her and took her foot, placing it on his knee.. before moving expertly to rub the arch of her foot with deliberate pressure.

Serena leaned back slightly and sighed, closing her eyes as the tension began to ease under his touch. "You’re pretty good at this." She murmured slowly while Aiden shook his head," So, now is it okay to think I am all that?"

Serena grimaced and with the pain now almost gone, she pushed at his shoulder," No. You are not all that! Don’t be so full of yourself, Aiden Hawk."

Aiden stood up and even as he held her hand to help her stand, he complained," Ouch. I save you from a nasty fall, and this is the thanks I get?"

Serena laughed as she tested her foot and shot back, "Well, I did let you feel my boobs," she shot back with a smirk, "That should count for something, right?"

Aiden shook his head and hurried her along," You are going to get us both arrested for indecent behavior, you know that?"

As he walked faster, Serena could not help but chuckle as she called after him," Hubby dear, I am hungry. What do you want to touch to get me food." She watched as he stopped and turned around, glancing around horrified at that. But in the next moment, her laughter disappeared when she was picked up and almost dropped into the car like a sack of potatoes.."Hey!!"
