Falling For My Accidental CEO Husband -
Chapter 135: Lie
Chapter 135: Lie
Aiden had lied to her. As he drove back to the house, a heavy sense of defeat settled over him. He realized he hadn’t been entirely truthful—not just to her, but to himself as well. Deep down, he had indeed fallen for her. His grip tightened on the steering wheel as conflicting emotions churned inside him.
Never had he expected to fall for someone, especially after building walls around his heart. Yet, last night, when he learned she had met Sidney and regained her memories, it struck him how deeply he cared. He shook his head, trying to dismiss the thoughts clouding his mind. Perhaps he was mistaken about the depth of his feelings; after all, she was the first woman who had stayed in his life for so long.
For now, he decided to put aside questions of love and focus on what truly mattered: protecting her and standing by her side. But how was he supposed to do that when she wouldn’t let share anything with him was beyond him.
Tonight, just because she had not returned home, he too had returned to his apartment instead of going back to the house. However, as he stepped out of the car, a sudden gust of wind swept past him, and before he knew it, a fist connected sharply with his jaw, sending him stumbling backward in shock.
Aiden barely processed what had happened before he reacted instinctively. In a split second, he swung his fist back, landing a punch squarely on Sidney’s jaw who also fell back before grabbing his collar," Aiden Hawk! Do you have no shame? I thought you at least had some principals! But I can see I was mistaken by you! How can a person with Charles’ Hawk’s blood have any morals."
Aiden pushed him away and gave the man a cold smile," Are you really the person to be talking about morals, Sidney?"
"This fight is between us! You had no right! No right to drag Rena into this!" Sidney roared.
"Her name is Serena." Aiden pointed out, not liking the name he addressed her by.
"I am well aware of her name! She was in a coma! A coma! And you had the audacity to ’marry’ her?"
Aiden stilled. How could Sideny know this? And yet, his silence was the only confirmation Sidney seemed to need.
With a huff, he let go of Aiden’s collar and growled," Divorce her! You really are a piece of work, Aiden Hawk. You even left Charles behind!"
Aiden pushed him away,"Since when did I start listening to you?" he snapped, his voice low and laced with irritation. "Who do you think you are, trying to tell me what to do? This matter is between me and my wife."
Sidney scoffed, his expression a mix of disbelief and anger. "Your wife? You really think that’s what she wants? The marriage isn’t even legal! You married her while she was still in a coma!"
Aiden raised an eyebrow, his smile smug, "Oh, it’s perfectly legal, don’t worry about that. We signed all the paperwork, and I made sure everything was in order."
Sidney glared at him and clenched his hands on the side," You will regret bringing her into the feud, Aiden."
"Well, I think the one who is regretting his decisions is you. Does your fiance know you are here asking me to divorce your ex?"
"You really think you’ve won, don’t you? Taken Serena away from me? You’re deluding yourself, Aiden. Just because you have a piece of paper doesn’t mean you have her heart. She wasconfused, and you took advantage of her vulnerability. And the only reason she has not already moved to divorce you is because she probably thinks that you will be helpful to her in this blind quest for revenge that she has started on. So, isn’t it better you leave her before she throws you out after she is done with you?"
Aiden smiled then, even as the bruise around his mouth seemed to be hurting, he could not help but taunt," Sidney... you really are quite smart. Should I be scared that she would discard me and leave her alone? Is that what you did? Made her feel alone when she needed you? Tsk tsk. Will you ever learn to stick to someone?"
Sidney raised his fist then, ready to punch Aiden again but this time, Aiden was prepared and held his fist, pushig him back," Listen well to me Sidney Price. There is no way that I and Serena are going to separate? Do you know why? Because I am not like you, looking only for my own profits while disregarding those around me. Som if you think you can get Serena from me, think again. I am never letting her go..."
Sidney stepped back, his eyes blazing as Aiden continued to talk, driving the final nail in his coffin," Me and her are already one. So... I suggest you give up now."
Sidney turned around then, feeling his rage ready to explode. Just then, he heard Aiden’s laughter and unable to stop himself, he turned around and walked back to Aiden," I will take her away from you, Aiden. Just wait and watch. I will take her and everything else you value away from you, the same way you took my..."
Aiden stopped laughing then and narrowed his eyes," Try it, then. And we’ll see who wins in the end. I might be the most despicable scum on this earth... but you... you are even worst than me. At least I have the courage to fight for what I want while you... only know to play games and stab people in the back."
With that, Aiden turned around and walked into his apartment building uncaring of everything else. The challenge had been laid. There was no way he was going to let Serena go back to Sidney...
However, he could not have imagined that some things were too far beyond his control... and he could not change the fates.
