FALLEN ANGEL: MARRIED TO THE DEMON KING -
Chapter 48: THE REALIZATION
Chapter 48: THE REALIZATION
Arella had run away.
She peeked down the hallway, conscious of anyone who might have heard her. Thinking back, she had been very loud, and the meeting room was obviously not soundproof if the laughter she had heard when going in was anything to go by.
She released a sigh she hadn’t realized she was holding. It had happened again, she had been swept up in her feelings to jump him.
She needed to breathe away from him. At the very least, when she was away from him, she could make good decisions. Decisions that did not consist of her jumping the demon king and locking them both up in a room for hours.
Her cheeks flushed as she remembered his words. Was he serious? He wanted them to do it outside more than in their chambers. Was he mental?
Hot liquid dripped down her thigh, and she realized that she was not wearing underwear. Or rather, he had tore her underwear. She was not sure if he even knew that he had done it.
The thought in itself caused a flush to rise up her neck.
Had she always been so wanton?
She looked left and right, trying to remember which way Velmoria had led her when they were coming to the meeting room. As if she had read her mind, Velmoria popped out of nowhere, a large smile on her full lips.
"Your majesty," Velmoria curtsied lightly. "I take it you had a successful meeting? You look absolutely radiant."
Arella was tempted to toss the demon out the window that was opposite them. "Don’t tempt me to silence you forever."
Velmoria’s smile widened even further: "I wouldn’t dare, your majesty."
"Wonderful, I need a bath. We still have much to do and so little time."
Velmoria all but wiggled her eyebrows. "I mean, with all due respect, your majesty, I do think that it is mandatory that we confirm your satisfaction with the king." Velmoria gestured down the right side of the hallway, indicating that they should walk. "Having a child will silence the high lords if not for a little while. Before they begin trying to kill whatever child you and the king have."
Arella walked as she had been directed, allowing Velmoria to walk in front of her. "If they do decide to do such a thing, it will be their heads I place upon a stake."
Velmoria cackled, "I will be right by your side, your majesty."
There was momentary silence before Arella spoke up, "Do you not feel the slightest bit embarrassed talking about such matters outside?" Arella tried to hide her embarrassment by looking out a window; they were passing. It was large, and a section of the demon realm she had not seen before came to view.
"Your majesty, I am a succubus. In the past, our kind lived on the essence of our hosts, though we needed to ensure they had a pleasurable time. Thus, such talk does not phase me." Velmoria licked her lips as if she had gotten a wonderful memory over her words.
"Even so. The matters between a man and a woman should not be so openly discussed."
"This is the demon realm, my queen. Demon males absolutely love the thought of keeping their partners up at night, showing their virility. The wedding night is the most important of all. Male demons usually come together to discuss these matters with their close friends. As do females. You need to be prepared for such talk tomorrow." Velmoria turned down another hallway that now looked familiar to Arella. "The king has not taken a lover in many many years. Many believed him to be infertile. He proved them all wrong though." Arella flushed slightly upon hearing her words.
Velmoria continued, "Three days and four nights is the longest recorded so far. Many demons would at least take a break. But the demon king did not allow anyone into your chambers. At the moment, how strong the king has got to be is the main talk of many demons. Including myself."
Arella’s flush lightened as Velmoria’s words sunk in.
Showing their virility? Was that all it was? Was that why he had not let her rest? All because of a custom in the demon realm? Because he wanted to prove a point?
Clearly, he had done a wonderful job of it, seeing as it was the talk of all the demons.
Arella wondered why she was even so hurt by it. Her brother had warned her that their customs were nothing like their customs. She knew that, and still she had allowed herself to feel something.
"I see."
Velmoria looked back slightly, noting the change in Arella’s tone. Arella had, however, gotten her bearings, so she did not need Velmoria to lead her to the room any further. She took the lead and walked up to the door of their shared chambers.
"Have the others prepare me a bath, Velmoria, while you help me pick out my clothing."
Velmoria bowed and went to get her other maids, leaving Arella’s thoughts swirling.
Why did the thought that the demon king had slept with her simply to prove a point wound her more than she expected? Now all that she wanted was to grab him by his throat and shake him till he spilled every secret he was keeping from her.
She sunk onto the bed, laying down with a thump. The faint scent of lavender filled her nostrils. Those three days, all she could smell was him and her. Their combined scent had been intoxicating, and it had caused her entire body to want him more and need him in all ways he could give her. The only reason they had stopped was because she had gotten exhausted to the point of nearly passing out.
She doubted that the sex was the reason that she had gotten so attached to him, though. She had heard humans say that people usually got attached to their firsts. He was not her first though, so that made no sense.
However, there was that pull that made her want to climb him like a tree whenever she was close to him. What was it? Angels had nothing like this. At least, none that she had ever heard of. Perhaps... She needed to talk to her mother.
Or even her brother.
From what she knew, he had had a flurry of lovers in his prime, although that was long ago, and he had changed after she was born because he wanted to set a good example.
Arella sighed and raised her hand to touch her halo. It had been a hundred years since she had used her halo, and she did not know if she was even back in the system. Trying to see if it worked normally was still worth a shot, though, so that she could talk to her brother about all she was feeling.
Demons were different from angels. None of them could understand what she was feeling, but perhaps the angel who had been there for her all her life would understand what she was feeling
Decision made, she walked to the bathing chamber, where Lysia, Xyra, Solenne, and Velmoria were. Velmoria’s back was turned to her as she was giving the other demons instructions.
"Velmoria." Arella called out to the demoness.
Velmoria turned to face her, "Yes, your majesty?"
"I would like some time alone in the bath. Is that alright?"
"Of course, your majesty. The bath will be ready in a few moments. Let Solenne help you out of those clothes."
Solenne followed after Arella, leaving the other three in the bathing chamber.
