Chapter 324: Ch 324 : Illusory Finale

Facing Erza’s blade, there wasn’t the slightest hesitation on Stella’s face.

Instead, she immediately raised her arm, and Erza’s body was sent flying back at an even faster speed than when she had charged in.

(It’s about time.)

The moment Erza was knocked back, a glint of sharpness flashed in Mira’s eyes.

She opened her palm, where a black energy sphere had already been prepared.

"[Demon Strike]."

Boom!

A blast of black energy erupted from Mira’s hand, surging toward Stella with a destructive aura.

Stella stared at the incoming attack, planted her feet, and leapt back.

With a hint of caution in her eyes, she softly counted under her breath: "Five, four..."

Whoosh— The massive wave of black energy completely engulfed Stella’s body.

Both Erza and Mira stared intently at the silhouette shrouded in the dark energy.

"Did it work?"

"What a pity," came Stella’s indifferent voice from within the darkness.

The next moment, the energy exploded outward as she appeared right in front of Mira.

Seeing the shock and fear on Miraj’s face, Stella’s lips curled into a faint, mocking smile.

"You miscalculated the cooldown time of my spell."

Bang!

Stella’s fist slammed into Mira’s abdomen.

Blood spurted from her mouth as her face twisted in pain.

She was sent flying, crashing hard into the wall of the room.

Her body, along with the shattered rubble, slowly crumbled to the ground—buried beneath the debris.

"Mira!!" Erza cried out in alarm as she watched Mirajane get thrown through the air.

"You still have time to worry about someone else?"

Stella’s icy voice echoed in Erza’s ears, sending a chill down her spine.

She quickly crouched to dodge Stella’s knife-hand strike, then countered with the Moon Goddess Sword, slashing directly at Stella’s neck.

But Stella’s lips curled into a cold, indifferent smile.

Instead of retreating, she stepped forward, driving an elbow strike toward Erza’s throat.

In her haste, Erza could only lean back slightly—Stella’s elbow landed squarely on her chest, sending Erza flying backward.

Chest burning with pain, she stared at Stella from across the room.

"Looks like the game ends here," Stella said with a frosty smile as she slowly approached Erza.

"Even though you seemed intent on exploiting the brief cooldown of my spell, it was a futile effort in the end."

"Failure, huh? Maybe so," Erza replied with a complicated smile.

"From the start, maybe there was no chance of winning. After all, if it’s a flaw, as a magic user, it’s only natural you’d have found a way to cover it."

Stella walked right up to Erza, reached out, and grabbed a handful of her crimson hair, yanking her off the ground with it.

"The Fairy Queen Titania Erza, and the Demon Mirajane, both to perish here... How complicated that makes me feel. But, I suppose it doesn’t matter. This is only the beginning. The birth of a new world always demands countless sacrifices to make it happen."

Stella’s face drew closer to Erza, her icy blue eyes clear and cold as frozen crystal.

"At this point, no one can stop it anymore. You too will die here."

"That... is where you’re wrong." Though disheveled, Erza still wore a faint smile on her face.

"Because I believe in him—Noel will stop this, no matter what."

"His Majesty Nord is no match for Master," Stella replied calmly.

"You’ve never seen Master’s true power—that’s why you still place your hopes in His Majesty Nord. But your baseless hopes like this... may well be a burden to His Majesty himself."

"Maybe you’re right," Erza said, her smile turning bitter.

Then she continued softly, "Noel... he’s always been someone people place their hopes in. He carries burdens that were never his to bear. He must be exhausted. But no matter how difficult it gets, he always does everything he can to live up to everyone’s expectations—silently solving all the problems. That’s just the kind of person he is. Someone who makes you worry, who you can’t help but feel for... yet he’s so incredibly dependable. I believe that, even if it’s hard, he’ll still find a way to make things right in the end."

Stella fell silent for a few seconds before speaking.

"Hmph, then... how about you die clinging to that hope?"

"Sorry, but I don’t plan on dying just yet," Erza replied.

"?"

Before Stella could grasp what Erza meant, a strange light suddenly began to radiate from beneath her feet and across her body.

"What? What’s going on?" Stella frowned, her expression darkening.

"You know," Erza said as she looked at Stella, "the ability of my Moon Goddess Armor—it can neutralize magic power. Unfortunately, due to my own limitations, I can’t fully unleash the armor’s potential... but there are other ways to use it."

Stella glanced at the cracked armor on Erza’s body, then shifted her gaze down to her own feet and limbs—faint, nearly imperceptible particles glowing with a violet light.

Her expression darkened as realization dawned.

"You’ve noticed it, haven’t you?" Erza’s smile curved more confidently.

"The moment you use magic, it vanishes completely. Right now... you can no longer use your magic."

"Soul—Annihilator."

A voice rang out behind Stella—Mira’s voice.

Stella’s pupils contracted.

She turned sharply to see Mira slowly and painfully dragging herself out from beneath the rubble, a dark energy sphere closing in from behind her.

Boom—Stella was struck hard, her hand involuntarily releasing Erza as her entire body was sent flying.

She skidded a long distance across the ground before finally coming to a halt.

"D-Damn it... taken down by something like this..."

Gravely injured, Stella struggled to lift herself up, trying to tear off the fragments of the Moon Goddess Armor clinging to her body.

Seeing this, Erza didn’t have time to think.

She grabbed the Moon Goddess Sword beside her and hurled it straight at Stella.

Whoosh—the Moon Goddess Sword traced a beautiful arc through the air, like a falling star, flying toward Stella.

The sharp tip of the blade grew larger and closer in her vision.

A spray of crimson blood burst forth—the Moon Goddess Sword pierced straight into Stella’s abdomen before she could dodge.

It went clean through her.

Stella coughed up a mouthful of blood, her face going deathly pale.

"I can’t believe... I actually lost..." Stella clutched her bleeding stomach, utterly weakened.

The massive blood loss rapidly drained her strength and consciousness.

At this point, she had lost all ability to resist.

"...Garlos... where are you... Garlos..."

Suddenly, Stella began to weakly call out that name.

Whoosh—the sound of space fracturing echoed through the air.

Under the stunned gazes of Mira and Erza, a man drenched in blood slowly appeared.

He reached out and gently held Stella in his arms, whispering softly, "I’m right here, Stella."

"Garlos..." Stella reached out, clutching the front of Garlos’s shirt, a look of relief spreading across her face.

Boom—a large chunk of rock suddenly fell from the ceiling, separating Erza and Mira from Garlos and Stella.

Garlos looked up calmly, murmuring, "So the chaotic spatial fluctuations have reached even this place... I suppose that’s fine. We may be twenty years late, but in the end, this is still the destination we were meant for."

"But... it’s still missing a little spark, Garlos." Stella smiled weakly, her expression full of complicated emotions.

"What a shame... I won’t be able to witness the world our Master spoke of, together with you."

"That’s true. But for me, this is enough. From the start, as long as I was with you, I had nothing else to ask for," Garlos said softly, a faint tenderness in his eyes.

"Though... this ending probably doesn’t quite match your sense of style."

"What are you saying?" Stella raised her hand with difficulty, gently caressing Garlos’s face.

"Dying together with you... that’s already a perfectly dramatic ending."

Boom—stimulated by the spatial fluctuations, the room could no longer hold together and began to collapse.

Like a natural disaster, massive chunks of stone fell relentlessly.

Mira, carrying the severely injured Erza, struggled to flap her wings and flew out of the collapsing chamber.

Gazing at the devastation behind them, Mira spoke with a complex expression:

"Erza... did we win?"

"Yes," Erza nodded.

"But... I don’t know how to put it, I don’t feel happy at all."

Erza glanced behind them and let out a soft sigh.

"Mira, maybe... this is what war is. They had their own stories, their own reasons to fight. Just like Noel once said—there’s no true good or evil in this world. All we can do is defend our beliefs with our swords, even if it brings sorrow. There’s no other choice."

A bitter smile appeared on Mira’s face.

She fell silent, saying nothing more.
