Chapter 44 - Black Pearl Village, Golden Flame Village—Three Territories
Chapter 44: Black Pearl Village, Golden Flame Village—Three Territories
Two more days passed.
Sea Dust Valley, Cold Pavilion Mountain.
This place was no longer home to just a single Xianteng Village.
Twenty li to the left and right of Xianteng Village, two new settlements had emerged—Black Pearl Village and Golden Flame Village.
Both villages also had their own companion spirit objects.
The former was the unusually towering Black Pearl Rice Tree that Blackhead had reported upon discovering the Dreamfire Cave.
The latter came from the edge of the Golden Flame Grass colony on the cave walls—the ancestral root of the ten thousand Golden Flame Grass plants.
It had long developed spiritual properties, but because Golden Flame Grass propagated through root division, this ancestral root had split into countless offshoots, giving rise to thousands of plants while suppressing its own spiritual growth. Thus, its grade was only slightly higher than the rest.
It had gone unnoticed earlier purely because its spiritual aura was dim. However, Wu Yuan had always known of its existence in the Dreamfire Cave.
After becoming a spirit object, Golden Flame Grass was graded slightly differently. As a spiritual herb, it was classified as mid-tier Grade 2 (possessing spiritual energy but not full sentience). But as a spirit object, it only ranked as mid-tier Grade 1.
The sentient Black Pearl Rice Tree was also a mid-tier Grade 1 spirit object. However, it had evolved from a top-tier Grade 1 rice tree into a sentient being, making it equivalent to a mid-tier Grade 2 spiritual herb—far stronger than the Golden Flame Grass ancestral root.

Wu Yuan had finally put the population and resources he painstakingly brought into Sea Dust Valley to good use. Since the three territories had different development plans, resources—aside from population, grain, tents, and tools—were allocated unequally.
For instance, though not displayed in the territory attributes, the ten Yellow Rhinoceros Carts were distributed as follows:
3 each to Black Pearl Village and Golden Flame Village.
4 remained with Xianteng Village.
While Black Pearl Village and Golden Flame Village lagged behind Xianteng Village in overall stats—due to the Green-grade Village Foundation Stone, the mutated Cloudvine, and the secondary primordial vein—they were far from weak.
In fact, having two Grade 2 attributes upon establishment was already impressive.
[Skillful Hands], the primary attribute from the village foundation stone, was superior to simple strength or speed boosts. Thanks to the Gray-grade foundation stone being repaired and upgraded by stone milk, it naturally advanced to Grade 2.
The companion spirit objects provided additional benefits:
Early spiritual energy conversion.
Growth acceleration for relevant crops or plants.
Most importantly, their emergence granted additional rewards—each village received a Stellar Origin Building.
Though not as valuable as Xianteng Village’s Population Token, Wu Yuan was satisfied because both rewards were Household Registry Steles.
The Power of the Household Registry Stele
Once built, the stele produced an indestructible ledger.
Villagers who dropped blood onto it would:
Be bound to the territory, gaining full attribute benefits.
Those beyond the population limit could still bind but received no bonuses.
Unbound individuals would only receive half the benefits at most.
Beyond bonuses, the stele had a hidden function—control.
Traitors could be severely punished through the stele, damaging their foundation and lifespan (though not fatally).
This was why Wu Yuan prioritized its construction in both villages.
Primordial Force and Building Slots
Thanks to upgraded foundation stones and companion spirits, both villages started with:
12 primordial nodes.
2 building slots (just enough for one Stellar Origin Building).
For comparison:
A standard Gray-grade village begins with 6 primordial nodes and 1 building slot, only gaining a Stellar Origin slot at Level 3.
A standard White-grade village starts with 9 primordial nodes and 1 (nearly 2) building slot, unlocking a Stellar Origin slot at Level 2.
Thus, despite being weaker than Xianteng Village, Black Pearl and Golden Flame Villages were already far stronger than ordinary territories.
Xianteng Village had not yet built a Household Registry Stele because it lacked an available slot. Wu Yuan estimated it would gain one upon reaching Wilderness Camp Level 2.
Construction Plans
For the remaining ordinary building slots, Wu Yuan had specifically selected slaves with carpentry experience and distributed them across the three villages.
They would spend at least half a month constructing specialized wooden houses on the primordial nodes, following his blueprints.
Black Pearl & Golden Flame Villages: 1 warehouse each.
Xianteng Village: 1 warehouse + 1 residential house.
Building on primordial nodes allowed the structures to:
Gradually absorb primordial force, evolving beyond ordinary buildings.
Potentially develop supernatural effects over time.
Though not as powerful as Stellar Origin Buildings, they would still surpass mundane constructions.
Living Conditions & Labor
Due to limited space, Wu Yuan arranged:
Black Pearl & Golden Flame Villages: All-female populations.
Xianteng Village: All-male population.
(Thankfully, Liuyan had already considered gender ratios when sending slaves to the Dreamfire Cave.)
Beyond construction, villagers would gather resources—high-quality timber and stone were essential for early development.
Sea Dust Valley, surrounded by three mountains, had abundant stone. Though mostly grassy, it still had scattered forests.
Wu Yuan had strategically placed Black Pearl and Golden Flame Villages near these forests—areas with higher primordial force concentration. With time, they might even develop primordial veins.
After finalizing arrangements and appointing temporary overseers (“Lizheng”), Wu Yuan finally left Sea Dust Valley with peace of mind.
