Chapter 146: Chapter 146 Thank you, Miss Shen, for the reward.

Shen Zhiyi woke up to find herself in Huating, completely dazed, because she had drunk too much the night before, and her head was still a bit sore. She got out of bed and saw the familiar furnishings around her, confirming this was indeed the master bedroom of Huating.

How did she end up back at Huating? Shen Zhiyi tried to recall, but her memory only went as far as chatting and drinking with her fans. It seemed like, at some point, she began to have gaps in her memory.

The bedroom was empty; Pei Yu wasn’t there. Shen Zhiyi walked down the spiral staircase and saw the housekeeper placing flowers on the coffee table.

Upon hearing the noise, the housekeeper looked up and smiled at her. "Awake? Would you like breakfast now?"

The attitude was so natural it was as if Shen Zhiyi had always lived there.

Shen Zhiyi nodded and hesitantly asked, "How did I get back yesterday?"

She was certain she must have been very drunk last night, maybe Pei Yu deliberately brought her back to Huating, he was capable of such a thing.

"The master carried you back," the housekeeper said gently.

Shen Zhiyi: "...That’s not what I meant."

She was a bit embarrassed. "Was I so drunk that I couldn’t walk?"

Her alcohol tolerance was average; she had never drunk herself into a blackout, so she didn’t know what it was like to be completely drunk.

"It doesn’t seem like it," the housekeeper said, who had only glanced briefly last night before retreating but heard enough to have a clear understanding, "You weren’t that drunk."

She added, "I’m not too clear on the details, you should ask the master later."

Shen Zhiyi drank a couple sips of warm water. "Where is he?"

"He went to the company early in the morning, said he would return soon."

No sooner had the housekeeper finished speaking than Pei Yu walked in from the outside, neat and impeccable, merely adjusting his tie casually as he approached.

Upon seeing Shen Zhiyi seated on the sofa, he frowned slightly, not very noticeably. "Not feeling well?"

Shen Zhiyi didn’t know how he could tell. "A little headache, should be better soon."

Pei Yu responded with a low "hmm," and touched her face with the back of his hand. It was cool from just coming in from outside, causing Shen Zhiyi to flinch back and, annoyed, pretend to kick him.

"Annoying."

Pei Yu raised an eyebrow. "That’s not what you said last night."

Having no recollection of the events of the previous night, Shen Zhiyi felt uncertain after his comment and asked doubtfully, "What happened last night? You brought me back to Huating?"

"You didn’t want to go home," Pei Yu took off his coat, drank water from her cup, and said slowly. "So you had to come back to Huating with me."

His explanation greatly differed from what Shen Zhiyi had guessed, and she didn’t quite believe him. "Why wouldn’t I want to go home?"

That seemed unlikely.

"Don’t know," Pei Yu pretended to think for a moment. "Maybe you just wanted to come back to Huating with me, any excuse would do."

Even when talking nonsense, he appeared utterly serious, and Shen Zhiyi was fooled by his demeanor, believing his words.

She had never thought about returning to Huating, but subconsciously she liked the place very much; perhaps it was a drunken truth.

Shen Zhiyi decided to end the topic, turning her head to look at the kitchen. "I’m getting a little hungry."

"Not going to ask any further?" Pei Yu didn’t let her change the subject, saying with a half-smile, "Aren’t you curious about what happened after you got back to Huating?"

Shen Zhiyi was briefly torn, curious about what happened last night on one hand, but knowing Pei Yu on the other, she felt he would definitely take this chance to tease her. His words weren’t necessarily the truth.

After a moment’s hesitation, reason won over curiosity; she stood up to walk towards the dining table. "Not curious."

Pei Yu blocked her way, stretching out a leg to stop her, effortlessly pulling her into his embrace with a faint smile on his lips. "Really don’t want to know?"

The more he acted like this, the more Shen Zhiyi felt he was holding back something bad, "I don’t want to know."

As she struggled, not only did she fail to break free from his embrace, she was held even tighter and said helplessly, "Are you forcing a sale and a purchase?"

She had already said she didn’t want to know.

"Hmm," Pei Yu admitted very openly, pinching her earlobe, "so you have to listen even if you don’t want to."

Anyway, she couldn’t struggle free, so she might as well listen early before the butler arrived to get it over with. Shen Zhiyi therefore gave up struggling and compromised, "Then go ahead."

She was so drunk, what could have happened last night?

Pei Yu chuckled lowly, very pleased, and whispered a sentence in her ear.

Shen Zhiyi’s originally calm expression instantly turned to shock, her first reaction being denial, "Impossible."

How could she possibly call him...

Half in panic and half in hesitation, she said, "Don’t take advantage of the fact I was drunk and can’t remember anything to fool me."

Pei Yu took out his phone, as if he had anticipated she wouldn’t believe him, "I recorded a bit."

Recorded it?

Shen Zhiyi’s face instantly flushed with embarrassment and she tried to snatch his phone from him, "I don’t want to listen!"

Did she really call him that?!

Too ashamed, Shen Zhiyi couldn’t bear to listen to it again; she thought it would be better to let this matter be forever sealed in her memory.

"No way," Pei Yu, who looked especially like an honorable gentleman at that moment, said, "How will you know if I’m telling the truth or lying if you don’t listen? What if I deceive you?"

He raised his arm high to keep Shen Zhiyi from touching his phone and tapped the screen a couple of times.

Seeing that there was no way to stop him, Shen Zhiyi immediately covered her ears.

After all, she really didn’t want to listen.

As she covered her ears in vain, Pei Yu lowered his hand and suddenly turned his head with his shoulders trembling inconspicuously.

Shen Zhiyi immediately realized she had been fooled again.

She got so angry that her volume rose several levels, "Pei Yu!"

Pei Yu turned his head back to her, and sure enough, there was a light smile in his eyes, "Why are you so easy to deceive?"

In fact, Shen Zhiyi felt that she wasn’t easy to deceive at all, but somehow, she always fell for his tricks.

As she tried to stand up angrily, Pei Yu knew if he let her go now it would be even harder to appease her, so he reined in his smile and apologized with a gentle voice, "I was wrong. Don’t be angry."

Shen Zhiyi sulked in his arms, not wanting to pay him any attention, until after several kisses on her temples and cheeks did she gradually soften, leaning on his shoulder and whispering a complaint, "You’re so annoying."

"Yes, I’m annoying," Pei Yu always admitted to any mistake when soothing her, "Not angry anymore?"

Shen Zhiyi wouldn’t really be angry with him, but she was just provoked; she didn’t want to admit she had calmed down so quickly and bit his neck lightly yet firmly.

Then she said, "Not angry anymore."

Pei Yu touched his neck where a faint tooth mark was left, and the corner of his mouth quirked up, "Thank you, Miss Shen, for the reward."

Shen Zhiyi: "..."

Dammit, it was clearly a punishment.
