Chapter 100: Chapter 100 Cooper Manor
"Aunt!"
After calling out, Aiven let Daphne pull his hand and talk as they walked, thoroughly enjoying this rare sense of family affection in his life.
"At that time, Ferman had just passed away, and soon after, there came the bad news from Black Stone Town that you and Anita had disappeared. You were both so young, my heart nearly broke.
But thankfully, thanks to the Goddess, we are finally reunited!" As she spoke, Daphne’s eyes turned red again.
Aiven knew this was Aunt Daphne’s genuine outpouring of emotions.
Before marrying Uncle Gel, this aunt’s hometown was also in Ilya, and she was actually a distant relative of his family, with genuine blood ties.
Including her marriage to Uncle Gel, which was arranged by his parents, the relationship between the two families needs no further explanation.
After an Extraordinary Transformation and spiritual activation, Aiven’s memory and thinking ability had undergone a qualitative change, making even childhood memories vivid once more.
Soon he was able to align the gentle and kind figure in his memory with Aunt Daphne, who, despite some changes, was no less beautiful than she was back then.
"Aunt, I’m sorry for worrying you! But everything is in the past now. I know my sister is still alive, and I’m sure we’ll find her." With Aiven’s delicate female emotions, he had no choice but to clumsily console her.
Actually, after Aiven and Milan revealed their identities to each other, he had immediately asked Milan to divinate his sister’s whereabouts. Although limited by Milan’s Apprentice Tier, the divination undoubtedly failed, it did indicate that Anita was still alive and was at least a Knight Tier Extraordinary.
So what Aiven said wasn’t just for comfort, and in fact, because Milan successfully predicted the attack by the Shark Tooth Pirates, he had completed the preliminary ceremony for advancing to Tier 2 "Prophet." Once he completes his advancement, he should be able to make more accurate predictions.
Probably, once they complete the short training and return to Gabred, this matter will be brought back to the agenda.
By then, even without the big data comparison system from the previous life, finding sister Anita in the vast sea of people would no longer be a mere fantasy.
Hand in hand, the two walked through the garden and into the manor’s three-story white main building.
Since it wasn’t a castle built by nobles for protection, it pursued grandeur and ornate decoration, matched with carefully arranged gardens and fountains, making it appear elegant and imposing.
The double mahogany doors portrayed golden flora and geometric patterns, solemn yet elegant. The Ionic composite marble pillars formed an aisle-like entrance, rich in classical charm.
Inside the door, the hall was spacious enough to host a small ball. The floor was covered with soft red wool carpets, the intricate beautiful patterns stretching to the oak stairs on either side of the hall.
A luxurious chandelier hung from the ceiling in the center of the hall, adjustable according to need. Under the control and maintenance of three servants, it was not inferior to the automatic lighting of the previous life.
Although carrying the title of a fallen noble, Uncle Gel’s manor conditions far surpassed the old house in Black Stone Town. Not accounting for the modern skyscrapers of the past life, it gave Aiven the feeling of Granny Liu entering the Grand View Garden, opening new horizons.
It seemed even though Uncle Gel maintained a righteous reputation, he hadn’t lacked means of... ahem... accumulating wealth over the years!
"Come, Aiven, I’ll show you to your room. Rebecca, hurry and call Elante back for me, and tell him his long-awaited cousin Aiven has arrived; remind him to tidy up before coming." Asking the maid to fetch her son, Daphne personally led Aiven upstairs to tour the long-prepared room.
"Yes, Madam." The young maid curtseyed and hurried out.
"Turner, help young master Aiven with his luggage." The male servant standing by immediately stepped forward to take the suitcase from Aiven’s hand.
Bang—
The suitcase felt light as a feather in Aiven’s hand, but when the servant named Turner took it, it was as heavy as a thousand pounds, accidentally falling to the floor.
"It’s a bit heavy, I’ll carry it myself." Realizing the servant was just an ordinary healthy person, Aiven declined his kind offer and picked up the suitcase again.
Leaving the confused servant staring at his own hands, Aiven held the smooth, rounded oak handrail as he ascended to the second floor with Aunt Daphne.
Swoosh—
The light blue curtains were fully drawn, and sunlight filled the entire bedroom.
With polished wooden floors, a mosquito-netting canopied carved bed, complete with desk, bookshelf, and weapon rack, the shelves were already filled with an array of precious books like The Brief History of the Kingdom, Sea War, Continent Geographic Atlas, and Universal Potion Manual.
Though not rare collectibles, the effort was clearly visible.
"How is it, Aiven? If there’s anything unsatisfactory, you can tell Aunt, and we’ll have it changed immediately." Daphne placed her hands on her hips with the posture of an authoritative matriarch, yet her domestic long gown appearance didn’t feel out of place at all.
Aiven was touched. Whether Uncle Gel or Aunt Daphne, they were truly kind-hearted people, sincerely wishing to accept him as a family member and had made every effort to do so.
How fortunate he was to have "relatives" like this?!
He looked around at his room, smiled at Daphne, and said, "It’s unexpectedly perfect, I’m extremely satisfied!"
’A hundred thousand times better than living in the cupboard at Aunt’s place like Harry Potter,’ Aiven silently added in his mind.
"Hehe, satisfied is good." Daphne smiled, feeling that all her previous efforts had not been wasted.
Thud... Thud... Thud...
"Huff... Mom, is Cousin Aiven here?" Following hurried footsteps, a tender voice with characteristics of puberty sounded.
Immediately, a gray-haired boy just like Uncle Gel poked his head through the door, and upon seeing Aiven sorting his luggage, his face turned to delight.
He bypassed his mother standing at the door, ran straight to Aiven’s side, and grabbed his hand.
"Cousin Aiven, I’m Elante, nice to meet you!
Will you be living with us from now on? You’re my idol!
Can you tell me how you defeated the Sea Monster? And how formidable the Great Pirates that roamed the Black Sea are? Do you think I have the talent to be a Sniper Musketeer? Where can I see your Thorned Gold Rose, Cousin Aiven?"
Being caught by a twelve or thirteen-year-old with a deluge of questions was overwhelming.
Aiven felt thick black lines forming on his head, inwardly shouting, "Uncle Gel, what have you been telling your son?"
He had never met him before, yet suddenly he had a little fanboy.
Besides, dealing with a middle-schooler was no easy task!
