Evil dragon has a warm heart -
Chapter 679 - 679 677 Twin Stars Resonance
Chapter 679: Chapter 677: Twin Stars Resonance Chapter 679: Chapter 677: Twin Stars Resonance “Life in the mortal world polishes the heart, and what it polishes is fulfillment; only when the heart is fulfilled can one morph into a myriad of illusions, thereby touching the power of the elements. For essentially, elemental attributes are but different forms of magic power; its core is change.”
In the Dragon’s Path Study Society, the Ouroboros Snake, Uroboros, spoke through the mouth of the host via the tapir Tepp, speaking endlessly about his own advancement insights.
A part of these insights stemmed from his own true experiences as he advanced into a Phantom Dragon.
Another part had been nurtured by Russell.
Russell had already become a Third-layer High Illusion Dragon Knight and also a Fifth-layer High Dragon Domain Lord, with an understanding of the Dragon’s Path that was more profound than anyone else in the world. Moreover, as an Ancient Giant Dragon Knight, he comprehended the rules that governed the world.
“To sum up, both the Life and Death Dragon Tribulation and the refinement in the mortal world are meant to highlight the ‘illusion’ in Phantom Beasts, to deeply understand the source of their power. Only by understanding this power can one truly master it!”
After the lecture had ended,
Thunderous applause rang out, and whether it was common Knights, Dragon Domain Lords, or the spectating Phantom Beasts and Pseudo-Dragons, all felt greatly inspired by Uroboros’s words.
“How wonderful!”
Grand Duke Vitali of the Coldflame Duchy clapped his hands without stopping, and a golden mark on his forehead shone brightly.
This was the symbol of his contract partner, the Pseudo-Dragon Griffin.
He was also one of the few Dragon Domain Lords among human nations, currently serving as the director of the Amber Dreamland Path of Dragon and Man, responsible for researching and improving the Knight’s training path; he attended every lecture.
“Indeed, it’s marvelous. The lectures by all three Phantom Dragons were astounding,” the Griffin communicated telepathically.
Before this, Sacred Unicorn Polly and Harpy Hape had given lectures, and even Russell had come here to give several lectures.
“Insights from the Cold Spring Point, assistance from the horn of a Pseudo-Dragon, together with the Life and Death Dragon Tribulation and the refinement in the mortal world, this constitutes a complete system of cultivation,” Grand Duke Vitali remarked. “His Majesty Russell has paved a road for us, and we must not fall too far behind.”
“Vitali, we need to travel more on the Snowfield,” Griffin said. “After years of comfortable living, both of us have almost forgotten the thrill of battle… Although the upheaval on the Snowfield has subsided after the Snow Soul Sacrifice, the Frost Snow Giants still roam widely outside.”
“Yes, we indeed need to find a heavyweight opponent and have a proper battle!” Grand Duke Vitali nodded in reply. “We have wasted so many years because our mindset is not fully polished. If we aspire to advance to Phantom Dragon Knights, how can we shy away from battle?”
He paused.
Then he said, “I will pass the title of Grand Duke to Victor right away, no longer concern myself with state affairs, and focus solely on refining in the mortal world!”
Equally excited and ready to charge down the Dragon’s Path were many Knights, all of whom set their sights on the Snowfield without exception.
…
The Knights were gearing up, ready for a big showdown.
But Russell was exploring in the Snowfield.
“It was here, while I was chasing a Frost Giant, that I pursued it to this spot and then discovered this massive rift in the ground,” Marquis Cambiño of the Mountain Fire Duchy said with a serious expression. “There was definitely no rift here before!”
He was the son of the Grand Duke of Mountain Fire and also a Dragon Knight.
He knew the geographical surroundings of the Mountain Fire Duchy like the back of his hand.
“So, you’re saying this rift appeared after the fusion of worlds,” Russell stood at the edge of the rift.
The rift stretched for hundreds of kilometers and was hundreds of meters wide.
Looking down, it was so deep that the bottom couldn’t be seen.
“Yes,” Marquis Cambiño said.
“I want to go down and take a look,” Russell did not ride the Shadowflame Dragon as it was too large.
He summoned Polly and rode her slowly into the rift.
Marquis Cambiño called out, “Please be extremely careful, Your Majesty Russell.”
Russell waved his hand and flew into the fissure, swiftly descending into darkness, until only a sliver of light from a crack above was left. With the fissure meandering deeper underground, eventually even the light from above disappeared into total darkness.
He hadn’t brought a gemstone lamp.
But the golden horn atop Polly’s head was glowing radiantly, illuminating the fissure brilliantly.
“We’ve been flying downward for several kilometers now, right?”
“Yes, at least four thousand meters deep,” Polly, always sensitive to distances and paths, remembered clearly how long they had flown. “Now the fissure is getting narrower and isn’t wider than ten meters. Some places haven’t even split open.”
“Let’s go down further!” Russell said.
He wasn’t worried about getting trapped here; a purple lightning mark on his forehead was always with him: the Nightmare Beast Senbula was his ever-present companion.
He could always use Quiet Dream teleportation to return to Red Castle.
After diving another three thousand meters or so, their total descent reached over seven thousand meters. The fissure had finally become too narrow to fly any further, but looking down, Russell found he still couldn’t see the bottom.
“The depth of this fissure might reach around ten kilometers,” Russell concluded, stopping to tap on the rock walls.
There was flowing water on the rock walls, making a splashing sound.
Suddenly,
a rumbling noise came from deep within the fissure, and Russell keenly felt that the fissure had widened a few millimeters.“Is it still splitting? Are the continental plates about to break?” His mind flashed back to the theory of plate tectonics from Earth.
But then he quickly remembered he was in magic-infused Dragon Sleep Continent. “It’s most likely related to Frost Star… Polly, do you think if Frost Star shattered, it could affect Dragon Star? Like some sort of resonance and then shatter Frost Star as well?”
“I’m not sure, but it does seem this fissure is related to Frost Star,” Polly responded softly.
“Let’s head back for now and gradually investigate to see if there are other fissures forming.”
Back on the surface,
Russell just happened to see a group of Giant Trolls walking on the Snowfield, and they turned to stare at Russell and his companions, even making menacing cut-throat gestures.
Marquis Cambiño snorted coldly: “I really can’t stand the sight of these trolls from overlapping spaces. I wish the Great Scholar Roundtable Association would soon unravel the mystery of the portals to other worlds, so we could go on a killing spree in Frost Star!”
These trolls were not truly present; they were only slightly pale phantoms, a phenomenon that occurred frequently after the merging of worlds.
Except around volcanoes, where the merged worlds interfered with each other, Troll Phantoms couldn’t materialize.
In the Volcanic Oasis and the Warm Enclaves, scenes of humans and trolls cursing each other through their respective phantoms were common.
When they saw this group of trolls even undoing their beast hides and urinating towards Russell and his group,
Russell’s expression turned frosty, and with a casual wave, he unleashed a Golden Thunder sword aura, which burst forth, instantly shattering the Troll Phantom.
The ultimate elemental power could disrupt the overlap of two worlds, thus destroying the phantoms.
“Cambiño, you continue leading the team on patrols through various nations. It would be best to roam the Snowfield to see if you can discover new fissures.”
“Yes, Your Majesty Russell.”
After giving a few instructions, Russell left the Mountain Fire Duchy. He himself sped through the Snowfield for several days, seeking new fissures.
And indeed, he discovered a small fissure in the Snowfield, more than seven hundred kilometers to the east of Shadowflame Kingdom. It wasn’t very deep yet, but it was expanding each day.
Reports from nations also came in one after another, finding fissures in the Snowfields.
Even in the Gobi Grand Duchy on the Ancient Northern Snow Plains and the Volcanic Oasis, a crevasse had formed and was widening each day.
“This is quite clear now, the merging of the two planets has created some kind of resonating impact. The shattered Frost Star is attempting to tear apart Dragon Star… Over time, Dragon Star might break apart as well!”
Russell solemnly reported his observations at the Amber Council meeting, “Everyone should prepare themselves mentally. If Dragon Sleep Continent shatters, the Origin Power of Dragon Star will be exposed!”
