Evil dragon has a warm heart
Chapter 422 - 422 421 Ouroboros Snake

Chapter 422: Chapter 421: Ouroboros Snake Chapter 422: Chapter 421: Ouroboros Snake At first, there was nothing in the Gloomy Dreamland, not a sliver of light to be seen, but after Russell mounted the Little Dream Dragon,

the light of magic power erupted.

Now, accompanied by a roar from the Little Dream Dragon, the sound of magic power also blossomed.

Immediately, Russell rode the Little Dream Dragon straight towards the direction of the Fir Parasitic Cordyceps, and upon arriving at the branches, he could hear the magic sound emitted by the Fir Parasitic Cordyceps, a very faint sound, like the rustling of leaves.

Then,

Russell listened intently and soon heard another sound, like the hiss of a snake flicking its tongue.

Following the sound, right near Russell’s encampment, it came from beneath the roots of a Snow Fir Tree.

Upon closely examining the shadowy outlines that formed the tree roots, one could discover a tree hole about the size of a bucket.

“So, this Phantom Beast is hiding in the tree hole, that’s why I cannot see its magic light?” Russell suddenly realized.

He then laughed heartily, “Let’s go, Ice Cream, we’re going in!”

In their Primordial Spirit form, both the Little Dream Dragon and Russell were small and easily flew into the tree hole, then after twisting and turning inside it and descending about three to four meters underground, they finally saw the magic light at the end of the passage.

It was a serpent-like Phantom Beast coiled into a serpentine loop.

The light of magic power outlined the patterns on its scales, and its size was similar to the King of Ebony-waisted Snakes contracted by Mr. Luo Man, an ordinary snake with the thickness of an arm, not one of the enormous pythons.

Strangely, this serpent-like Phantom Beast that slept at night was biting its own tail in its dream.

“Hiss, hiss…”

The sound of magic power radiated continuously from its body, truly as if a snake were flicking its tongue.

“Ga?” The Little Dream Dragon sniffed with its nose and then, as if discovering something, its eyes lit up suddenly, “Ga!”

“What?”

The Little Dream Dragon couldn’t speak, but its gesticulations made it easy for Russell to understand: “You like this Phantom Beast… not like, you look down on all Phantom Beasts… you mean, your feeling towards it is the same as towards Polly?”

“Gaga!” The Little Dream Dragon nodded repeatedly.

This caused Russell’s eyebrows to rise: “The same as Polly, which means that this Phantom Beast’s talent is related to the Gloomy Dreamland!”

Out of all Phantom Beasts, undoubtedly, only Unicorn Polly was highly regarded by the Little Dream Dragon.

The reason for the regard was Polly’s talent for Wraithwalk. Her Primordial Spirit had been pulled into the Gloomy Dreamland and could even wield the Dreamy Unicorn Horn to pierce the barrier between the dream and reality, thereby drawing magic creations from reality.

Other Phantom Beasts, like the Pseudo-Harpy Dragon Hape contracted by Russell, even being a descendant of the Phantom Beast Pseudo-Dragon lineage, still failed to earn a second glance from the Little Dream Dragon.

It was clear that the Little Dream Dragon was quite a practical giant dragon, favoring those that could be of help to it.

“This… Ouroboros Snake, has caught your eye, Ice Cream, and evidently, it will soon become our companion,” Russell immediately pledged, “Don’t worry, give me a few days and you’ll see how I’ll capture it!”

“Ga!”

“Let’s go, I’ve made note of this place. We’ll come back tomorrow to subdue it,” Russell said as he gestured with his hand, “It’s a pity that there’s no other sound of magic power, and no fairies to be found… Let’s wander around the Heibo Mountains and look for traces of Snow Giant Da.”

They searched tirelessly through the night.

The Heibo Mountains were desolate, with even Snow Ghosts and Snow Demons being rare sightings.

“Gone, by the looks of it Snow Giant Da and the Xueda Pilot have both fled,” Russell shook his head. Otherwise, with Snow Giant Da’s brilliant radiance, it could be seen from kilometers or even tens of kilometers away.

With a “Ga,” the Gloomy Dreamland dissipated.

Early next morning, Russell woke up leisurely on the back of the Black Oil Dragon Ross and, without even bothering to eat breakfast, began to search for the large tree with a hollow.

He had just reached the tree.

A familiar yet peculiar whispering voice came to his ears, “Why has this human come over here? Has he discovered me? And… I feel there’s something different about him today. How strange, how strange, I really want him to touch my tail.”

“Hmm?”

Russell stopped in his tracks.

Suddenly, he felt as if the Ouroboros Snake was possessed by Unicorn Polly, their tones of speech were different, but both wanted him to touch them.

Only, Polly wanted him to touch her horn, whereas the Ouroboros Snake wanted him to touch its tail.

“Could it be?” In an instant, various thoughts flashed through Russell’s mind, “Its tail is as special as Polly’s horn. Also, Polly wanted me to touch her horn, and the Ouroboros Snake wants me to touch its tail; they might both be related to Ice Cream.”

Russell was not so narcissistic as to think that he could conquer numerous Phantom Beasts with his charm alone.

Considering the Little Dream Dragon’s special feeling towards the Ouroboros Snake from last night, it was clear that what truly attracted Polly and the Ouroboros Snake was not Russell himself but his Golden Finger, the Little Dream Dragon.

Or rather.

It was the aura of Quiet Dreamland that drew them together.

With this realization, Russell knew what he had to do, “Hello, little snake in the hollow, I’ve come to visit you. Let me introduce myself first. I am Russell Fluorescent Fungus, and I mean you no harm.”

There was no sound from the hollow.

Lucky Whisper wasn’t triggered either.

Russell continued talking to the hollow as if to himself, “I know you live in this hollow, and you might find it strange, but I can hear your heart… I also want to touch your tail, and I can grant you more powerful abilities.”

“Ah! What is that human outside talking about? It’s so confusing, how does he know I’m here?” came the peculiar muttering voice again.

The voice didn’t stop, continuing, “It’s too scary, but does he really want to touch my tail? Oh my goodness, why am I having such strange thoughts… No, no, no, I should hide, just hide…”

Then, the peculiar murmuring carried on with strange words, “I’ll just hide in a dream.”

“Hide in a dream, does that mean Quiet Dreamland?” mused Russell, squinting his eyes.

He then loudly said, “Little snake, hiding in a dream is pointless, I can see you, and I must tell you, I am the Master of Dreamscape, you hiding in a dream is like hiding in my own house.”

“Ah, how terrifying!” exclaimed the peculiar whispering voice, “Is this human the Master of Dreamscape? Then I am in danger.”

“You don’t need to worry. I won’t hurt you, I just want to be friends…” Russell reasoned with emotion and logic, dallying near the hollow all morning. Unfortunately, haste makes waste, and the more he talked, the more silent the Ouroboros Snake became.

By the time noon had passed, he could no longer hear the Ouroboros Snake’s Lucky Whisper.

“Russell, the Ouroboros Snake is clearly frightened, we should take it slow,” Polly suggested telepathically. “When we first met, I was also hesitant, which is why I only met you a few days later.”

“Is that so?”

“That’s right, as a Phantom Beast, we are much more cautious about everything around us than humans are.” Polly said with a laugh, “I can sympathize with the Ouroboros Snake. Since it wants you to touch its tail, sooner or later, it will accept you.”

“Alright, I’ll go with your advice,” Russell agreed, pliable.

He no longer rushed to see the Ouroboros Snake and also shelved the idea of digging a hole to catch it alive.

The Ouroboros Snake, with its talent related to Quiet Dreamland, was undoubtedly an excellent candidate for a contract.

So, in order for their future cultivation to go smoothly and to avoid any emotional barriers, it was best to win its heart first.

Only when the Ouroboros Snake proved to be intractable should he consider digging a hole to capture it alive.
