Chapter 622: Chapter 617 Courage 3

A group of people rested and recuperated. Together with Lin Xin, they got up and headed straight for the place where they had met with the other two sects previously.

Feng Huai and Lin Xin, both of the Fifth Rank, now led the team with more confidence, presenting a strong front as if they were out to question and accuse.

Lin Xin followed in the middle of the team. Unlike Feng Huai, he wasn’t familiar with these cultivators nor was he leading them. This mission actually had nothing to do with him.

Moreover, his only goal was to find Lin Yaoyang, assuming what Xia had said was indeed true...

Spell Methods could not be used within Snow City. The party proceeded swiftly, treading carefully and maintaining vigilance all around in the snow.

The chaos of the previous battle had ended with them unable to even collect the remains of their fallen comrades, a fact that suffused the atmosphere with a stifling sense of frustration and gloom. Consequently, no one spoke during the journey.

They passed through several streets and detoured around a collapsed building.

A new clearing appeared before everyone’s eyes.

Feng Huai stepped forward and felt the snow on the ground.

"They’ve left, but no more than an Hour ago."

He looked up at Lin Xin.

"Brother Lin, shall we go find Song Danhao first, or the people from the Four Seas Fairy Mountains?"

"It’s up to you, Brother Feng. You’re the leader," Lin Xin shook his head.

"I’m curious why you came afterwards, Brother Lin. I personally went to look for you, and wasn’t it also..."

"I sensed a presence related to me in these ruins, so I hurried over. I just didn’t expect to run into you all."

Lin Xin explained quickly with a smile.

"A related presence?" Feng Huai was slightly taken aback but did not pursue the question.

He stood up from the ground, and upon calming down, he too felt something was amiss. If the people from the Four Seas Fairy Mountains had the audacity to scheme against them, it was uncertain if they would fear being confronted.

"I wonder what Brother Lin is looking for. If it’s not urgent, I’m gravely injured right now. How about you take over the leadership? We’ll split the Contribution Points equally after completing the mission," Feng Huai suggested openly. He was indeed handicapped at the moment, so even though Lin Xin had not taken on this mission, seizing this opportunity to bring him into the team would be akin to adding a formidable force.

Lin Xin fell into contemplation. To find his foolish sister, perhaps this was indeed an opportune moment to leverage the power of the Green Lake Mountain team, at the very least as a pretense.

"Very well. We shall proceed together. I’ll decline the leadership role, but Brother Feng, didn’t you say you would gather all the lords nearby? How come you are the only Fifth Rank here?"

This question had been on his mind for a while, and now he seized the chance to ask it.

Upon hearing this, Feng Huai gave a wry smile.

"I won’t hide it from you; I secured some connections to come here, hoping to secure gains exclusively for myself. Most of the other lords are overseeing other areas where Snowman King ruins have appeared. Only this place was informed to be where Song Danhao and his group had appeared. That is why I pulled some strings to come personally, hoping to find some leftovers, but unexpectedly..."

"The ruins aren’t just in one place?" Lin Xin’s eyes narrowed.

"Indeed, dozens of ruins have appeared simultaneously. All the lords nearby are leading teams separately, and there are not enough of us. More experts from the sect are en route here," Feng Huai nodded while explaining.

"I see." Now Lin Xin understood why Feng Huai was somewhat surprised upon seeing him arrive.

So, it seems the Snowman City ruins were not the only ones to have appeared.

*********************

The Black Blade suddenly thrust past the side of Lin Yaoyang’s face, accurately and fiercely blocking a large mass of dark red liquid that was smashing forward.

The sticky dark red liquid plopped onto the ground, corroding a huge pit into the pristine snow, and faint sweet smells could occasionally be detected around the edge.

Lin Yaoyang’s hands, legs, and shoulders were all marked with red wounds caused by the corrosion.

She was drenched in sweat, her dress almost clinging to her delicate body, and her complexion faintly pale from excessive exertion.

"Go!"

Song Danhao charged forward. With a fling of his Black Blade, he conjured three Void Shadows and engaged in fierce combat with a four-eared man who was approaching at a measured pace.

He was shrouded in black aura, and a blood-red symbol flickered between his eyebrows, exuding an ancient and domineering deterrence.

"Move quickly!" Xu Ling came running, helping Lin Yaoyang up, while Gongshang Baiyu emitted a ring of silver light from his hand. Numerous silver Runes flowed out like water, isolating them from the surroundings.

"Brother Song!" she yelled.

Song Danhao immediately understood, forcibly using his Black Blade to parry the four-eared man and leaping back.

Hisss!

The silver Runes formed a hemispherical Protective Shield, enveloping the four of them and flashing away in an instant.

Suddenly, the place was empty, devoid of any trace.

The four-eared man stood there, licking the wound on the back of his hand. Yet, he had no intention of pursuing them.

"The reincarnation of the Demon God King? Tsk, truly formidable. Only at the Third Rank and yet able to unleash the power of the Fifth Rank, barely holding his own against me."

"Elder Brother, shall we immediately chase after them?"

A woman in a white and gold robe stepped forward and asked softly.

"No rush," the four-eared man shook his head, "Song Danhao will gradually lead us to the Snowman King’s place of courage. We only need to force him to flee instinctively; that’s enough."

"Why is that?" the female cultivator asked, not understanding.

The four-eared man laughed, "Song Danhao is the reincarnation of the Demon God King. Do you think that anyone could activate the ancient Teleportation Formation Diagram in Green Lake Mountain? All of this is predestined. The Snowman King was once the tenth vassal of the Demon God King and achieved countless feats during the war against the Evil Gods, annihilating a terrifying number of Evil Gods. Its purpose is definitely not as simple as just transporting its master’s reincarnation here."

"I understand now."

The female cultivator had an epiphany.

"Shall we go after them right now?"

"No hurry, I’ve left a little something on them. There’s no need to rush," the four-eared man chuckled softly.

Suddenly, he frowned slightly and looked to the other side.

"Hmm... Feng Huai actually managed to shake off the Wang Family’s Snowman guards? He does have some skills, let’s go."

A group of people quickly took orders, tidied up the battlefield a bit, and then leaped up, disappearing into the hollows of a high-rise building on the side.

Soon after, Feng Huai and Lin Xin arrived there with their people.

A series of disorganized footsteps followed, and more than ten people from Green Lake Mountain all arrived. They had found several team members who had gotten separated along the way, and now their team had grown slightly stronger.

Especially since Feng Huai had found his own deputy, an old cultivator at the peak of Fourth Rank. After understanding what the old cultivator had encountered, he was even more certain that it was the people from Four Seas Fairy Mountains stirring trouble.

They had come over in a huff, only to find the place empty and deserted—the people had already left the building.

"Damn it!"

Bang!

Feng Huai slammed his palm against the wall on the side, and the thick ice-covered building wall was instantly smashed through as if it were made of paper.

"The relic is only so big, as long as that four-eared guy doesn’t leave, we will eventually find them, Elder Feng doesn’t need to worry," the deputy old cultivator Zheng Rong said in a low voice.

"Are you saying we should go find Song Danhao?" Feng Huai reacted as well and asked in a somber tone.

"Exactly. No matter where they are now, as long as we find the reincarnation of the Demon God King, their goal must be related to Snowman King’s courage. We will encounter them sooner or later," the old cultivator Zheng Rong said calmly.

"Elder Zheng is right, the goals of the people from the major sects who rushed here are actually quite similar. As long as we find Song Danhao, we can secretly follow them, and we will eventually encounter people from Four Seas Fairy Mountains and the inhabitants of Illusory Sea Polar Region," another cultivator from the team agreed.

Two other people who had a good relationship with Feng Huai also spoke out in agreement.

Lin Xin did not say anything. He squinted his eyes, listening to the conversation of the people ahead while picking up a handful of snow powder from the ground, casually rubbing it away and letting it fall to the ground.

"This snow powder, it smells somewhat similar to that of the Snowman before... Perhaps the Mystery of Undying on the Snowman’s body is also related to this."

He applied greater force in his hand, and the snow powder was immediately crushed with a crunching sound.

Pop, pop!

Suddenly, from the right side of the team, several snowmen over three meters tall pounced down from the high-rise buildings.

Swords were drawn and blades were unsheathed within the group, and in just a few blinks, these snowmen were instantly chopped into numerous fragments.

"Retreat!"

Feng Huai yelled loudly.

These snowmen were essentially unkillable, especially these kinds over three meters tall derived from the Wang Family’s Snowman guards. They had no crystals in their bodies, so if killed once, they would immediately revive.

The team quickly retreated forward.

Lin Xin did not act. He stood in the middle of the team and saw that the snowmen had been cleaved into pieces, yet rapidly reconstituted themselves. What was more horrifying was that upon reassembling, they actually split from one to two.

The number had doubled directly.

"Move quickly!" Feng Huai was both frustrated and angry. In such a place where spell methods were restrained, they could only rely on themselves, and these fearless Snowman guards were the most difficult and formidable killers.

No matter how many times they were killed, each time their numbers would directly double, the more they were killed, the more there were. It seemed as though the act of killing them was in itself replenishing their power.

The team quickly started to run forward, with all the cultivators wearing ugly expressions.

When had the people of Green Lake Mountain ever fallen to such a plight, being chased around by a bunch of strange snowmen?

Pop!

Suddenly a snowman burst forth from underneath the snow in the middle of the team, fiercely pouncing towards a cultivator beside Lin Xin.

Lin Xin’s heart stirred, and the Red Flower Sword suddenly unsheathed, freezing everything in the vicinity.

"If mere physical attacks are of no use, then how about trying this?"

A layer of white light began to cover the blade of his sword.

It was a sign of the Purifying Force taking hold.

Sword light flickered, leaving behind a trace that was invisible to the naked eye.

The sword mark precisely cut across the waist of the snowman.

Hisss...

As if a hot knife through grease, the Red Flower Sword effortlessly sliced into the snowman’s waist as if cutting tofu.

And then, with a swoosh, it split the snowman in two.

Owww!

The snowman emitted a scream of agony, fell down and did not get back up, rapidly melting into a pile of snow powder with no further movement.

"It’s effective!" Lin Xin was immediately certain in his heart.

Feng Huai and the others saw this scene and were overjoyed.

"Brother Lin, how do you feel?" he asked loudly.

Lin Xin looked relaxed and nodded, indicating that he wasn’t burdened.

Making a split-second decision, Feng Huai turned around and directly pounced on the Snowman guards chasing them.

After several faint sounds of hissing.

The entire team, centered around Lin Xin, managed to stab the snowmen to death in just a few moments.

Several piles of scattered snow powder also appeared on the ground.
