Chapter 330: Chapter 323 Chaos - Part 1

Chunks of rock fell within the cavern, the clouds above masked by flame and dark mist, splitting the entire cavern in two with their powerful presence.

A scaly, fierce red beast’s head formed as the crimson fire swept over almost half of the cavern, quickly condensing.

Condensed dark mist shaped like a swift swallowed from above, darting down like lightning, reaching the front of the red beast’s head in an instant.

Clang!!!

Blade clashed against sword.

Golden sparks flew, the two stood locked in a momentary stalemate, then both flame and dark mist exploded around them, creating a small vacuum nearby.

Wusheng’s knife, with its sinister dual eyes, stared fixedly at Lin Xin.

"Self-taught Sword Intent?"

With a fierce shake, Lin Xin suddenly exerted his strength, sending him flying.

Watching as Wusheng’s knife tumbled backwards toward another cavern wall. His eyes instantly lit up with a red glow, he stepped forward, and his Longsword fiercely slashed down.

Boom!!

A large cloud of fire burst forth, transforming into a massive five-meter-tall crimson beast’s head that opened its jaws wide, roaring as it lunged at Wusheng’s knife.

Roar!!

The terrifying roar shook the entire cavern, causing the walls to crackle again.

"Command the Dark Death!" As Wusheng’s knife’s body tumbled, a large swath of black shadows suddenly lit up around him. With a swish, it completely devoured the Qilin Fire Cloud, the roaring subsided to calm in an instant, creating a stark contrast. Not only were the surrounding Golden Core Daoist Masters stunned, even Lin Xin himself was slightly taken aback.

"Go!"

Wusheng’s knife pointed at Lin Xin.

The broad shadow, like ink spreading in clear water, rapidly extended toward Lin Xin.

"What Divine Skill is this?" Lin Xin dared not let it touch him and could only lightly tap his foot, leaping backwards.

The shadow touched where he had been standing, instantly devouring the ground’s stone and spring water. Even the residual flames were directly swallowed.

Fortunately, the shadow faded quickly and disappeared after missing its target.

Wusheng’s knife gently landed, standing on the surface of a hot spring, confronting Lin Xin, who had also landed opposite him.

The two resumed their initial standoff. Both had barely tested each other for a moment before concluding that neither was an easy adversary, thus they both decisively ceased their attacks.

The only additions to the cavern from before were two large pits created by the residual effects of their exchanged blows.

"Where’s your Primitive Demon Body? Why not unleash it?" Wusheng’s knife eyed Lin Xin. "One of the Yuan Dou Demon Sect’s most famed top Demon Bodies; I’ve long wanted to see it."

Though his words suggested casual interest, he was already harboring some wariness towards him.

Without using the Primitive Demon Body, but still being able to use Sword Intent and Spiritual Pressure Formation Talisman to condense something like that flame beast’s head and stand against him, only slightly falling short— if he were to use the Demon Body, under the significant enhancement, he feared even his trump cards might not be sure to take down his opponent.

"Aren’t you supposed to kill me?" Lin Xin stood casually holding the Red Flower Sword, showing no signs of the fight that had just occurred.

"You think I wouldn’t dare?" Wusheng’s knife’s eyes narrowed. He was not one to be easily provoked, always immensely volatile, and no one had ever dared to provoke him to his face before.

Lin Xin smiled. His figure suddenly flashed, disappearing from the spot.

When he reappeared, he was beside the Green Lotus Spirit Heart Sword, swiftly grabbing it with a fierce grip.

Swish!

The blade of the sword was quickly tucked into his Storage Bag.

On the other side, Wusheng’s knife also appeared before the black vortex. Seeing him actually going for the Green Lotus Spirit Heart Sword, he and the red-robed man both paused, seemingly unprepared for him to prioritize a seemingly inconsequential Third Grade artifact.

Lin Xin, however, couldn’t care less about what the two thought; he needed many Demon Talisman Seeds. The Green Lotus Spirit Heart Sword suited him better than Heavenly Banner Qi; rather than competing for the latter with two formidable experts of uncertain strength who valued it, better to secure this item first.

The red-robed man and Wusheng’s knife began their confrontation.

The red-robed man, with a pair of bare hands surrounded by ribbons of silver runes, exchanged blows with the black swallow.

His palm strikes weren’t straightforward clashes. Instead, he dodged the sharpest attacks at crucial moments and lightly tapped from the side, deflecting the opponent’s direction, then counterattacked.

"I can feel it, my chance for enlightenment is right here,"

the red-robed man said indifferently.

"So what!? Command the Dark Death!"

Wusheng’s knife once again conjured a mass of black shadows, wildly consuming toward the red-robed man.

This time, the coverage and speed were too vast, engulfing almost the entire cavern. The red-robed man couldn’t avoid in time and was directly swallowed.

"Red Flower Chorusing."

Shi!

A strikingly bright red light suddenly flashed,

blazing behind Wusheng’s knife at a speed indiscernible to ordinary cultivators.

Clang!

Wusheng parried with the back of his blade without even looking, successfully blocking the sword attack.

The demonic voice that could shake one’s soul had not affected him at all.

Lin Xin’s figure also appeared instantly behind him, his sword thrusting straight toward Wusheng’s back.

Their blades met, and in the blink of an eye, they exchanged blows dozens of times, creating a storm-like clash that sprayed more and more golden sparks around them.

"Mundane Heart Worship, Flower Rain."

Suddenly, a serene voice spread from the void.

Wusheng’s expression changed, and a black shadow suddenly opened behind him. A red figure burst out from it, followed by a pink flower slowly blooming within the shadow.

The shadow could no longer close, and at its center, dozens of layers of intricate petals rotated complexly, with a white and gold-edged vortex in the center continuously radiating dazzling golden light.

It seemed as though it could erupt into a massive explosive force at any moment.

The flower bloomed right within Wusheng’s controlled shadow, making it impossible for the surrounding shadows to retract.

"That is... Daoist Venerable Fu Yuan from Hong Ling’s ultimate technique—Mundane Heart Worship!"

From a distance, several Daoist Masters who had gathered together all changed their expressions. Daoist Venerable Fu Yuan was a famously top-notch Dao Seeking expert who had been stuck at the peak of Dao Seeking for over a hundred years, now seeking a breakthrough moment. Interfering with someone’s path to Dao is like killing their parents, as such experts might step into the Scenic Level at any moment, and making an enemy out of them could be disastrous.

With these thoughts, the remaining three Daoist Masters hurriedly rushed toward the exit.

Daoist Venerable of Hong Ling, Wusheng, and Yuan Dou Crown Prince—the level of this confrontation had already far exceeded what an ordinary Golden Core Daoist Master could engage in.

Just by observing the remnants of their fight, one could confirm that these were peak-level Dao Seeking experts who could be at least within the top forty on the exquisite Heavenly List.

For mid-level Golden Core Daoist Masters like them, even if they brought sufficiently powerful trump cards, it was unlikely they could stand against the three.

Hearing the name of Daoist Venerable of Hong Ling, Lin Xin’s eyes narrowed.

A veteran peak Dao Seeking expert, definitely possessing profound Dao Seeking techniques. At this level, victory is no longer determined just by cultivation level; the power of the mastered Divine Techniques and Secret Techniques are the real deciding factors.

Dao Seeking techniques could be of any type, among them lurking unpredictable and even bizarre Taoist Arts.

So far, although the three seemed to be fighting intensely, they had not yet reached a point of true life-and-death confrontation, merely testing each other.

At that moment, the pink flower suddenly exploded, scattering countless petals that violently shattered the shadow. Wusheng grunted as he was flung back, smashing into a stone wall causing it to crack open, creating an unfathomably deep black hole. He had been sent flying far away by the impact.

"How about you let me have half of the Heavenly Banner energy for a breakthrough? The rest can be evenly shared among yourselves," Daoist Venerable of Hong Ling said indifferently, his figure completely enveloped in a red robe.

Lin Xin’s eyes gleamed with red fluorescent light, feeling tempted, then slowly released the Secret Technique to detect the Demon Talisman Seed.

Suddenly, red lights lit up more or less on every individual inside several caves.

He could distinctly sense that Jian An from Liaoyin Temple clearly had a large cluster of red dots, evidently as preparation to pay their reward.

The other Daoist Masters, however, had no red dots on them.

But what surprised him the most was that the figure of Daoist Venerable of Hong Ling in front of him starkly had a massive cluster of bright red dots, densely packed with at least twenty or thirty pieces!

Adding those from Xia Haiji’s former teammates, there were at least forty pieces in total on the site!!

Seeing this, even the usually composed Lin Xin felt a bit overwhelmed by the temptation.

Robbery indeed seems to be the quickest way to make money; this gathering of the Heirs of the Hidden Mansion was truly worthwhile!

"I don’t want the Heavenly Banner energy, I want all the Demon Talisman Seeds you carry on you!"

Lin Xin’s eyes shimmered brightly, the red halo around them growing more intense.

Daoist Venerable of Hong Ling stood in front of a black vortex, looking at Lin Xin somewhat unexpectedly.

"No problem. While Demon Talisman Seeds are precious, they’re not that rare."

He took out an Earth Escape Talisman from his Storage Bag and threw it onto the ground in front of Lin Xin.

With a hiss, the Talisman Paper turned into a yellow circular ring with a faint yellow halo emerging in its center.

"This is the Earth Escape Talisman portal, leading to a place a hundred miles away. If you are skilled in Formation Talismans, you can check it yourself."

He then took off a red bag from his body, which glinted with faint silver runes.

He simply tossed the bag into the circular ring.

The bag instantly disappeared into the glowing halo.

"The Demon Talisman Seeds you want are there. If you don’t hurry, some other creature might snatch them away," he said.

Lin Xin squinted at him. The red light indicating the Demon Talisman Seeds indeed had disappeared from him.

"Daoist Venerable of Hong Ling is indeed compassionate."

"I just wish to avoid unnecessary slaughter," Daoist Venerable of Hong Ling said indifferently.

He clearly noticed that Lin Xin harbored murderous intentions toward all the Daoist Masters present. Such keen perception was truly extraordinary. Initially, Lin Xin intended to kill several Daoist Masters, which could also help him rapidly advance his cultivation level.

Since entering the Central Prefecture, every Dao Seeking expert he encountered was tough to deal with; far from being as easy to handle as before. Fighting above one’s level had also become increasingly difficult.

This time, if not for his trump card, the Primitive Demon Body, he might not have been able to contend with Wusheng.

Let alone now, when with a single strike, he had forced the retreating Daoist Venerable of Hong Ling, who had hidden Wusheng. Thus, upgrading his strength was also an urgent matter.
