Chapter 214: Chapter 207: Fierce Battle - Part 2
Inside the cave.
In the darkness, Lin Xin lay quietly on his back, his eyes faintly emitting a dark red glow.
Little by little, red formation patterns lit up from his body, one by one, in clusters, and within just a few seconds, his whole body was covered in countless eerie crack-like red patterns.
Whoosh!
The first dark red flame, like a flower, slowly lit up inside the cave.
Then came the second, the third... countless more, until they were too numerous to count.
The temperature inside the entire cave suddenly rose to an unbelievable level, the stone walls began to melt, turning into flowing magma.
For a moment, Lin Xin’s body seemed to be surrounded and burned by countless flames, creepy, enchanting red patterns also began to emerge on his face.
Heart Eye Sword Path and the Red Flower Sword stored by Yin Mantuo continuously resounded, bursts of Sword Intent erupted, mixing with the numerous fire formations densely covering Lin Xin, neutralized under the bell tones of the great decree.
Yin Mantuo slowly drilled out from the ground below, its huge body and branches densely engraved with countless fire formations.
"Sorry," Lin Xin said lightly. He pulled out a green Spirit Jade that looked like a seashell from his Storage Bag, lightly crushed it, and scattered it towards the flower vines.
Boom!
All the fire formations on Yin Mantuo activated at the same time.
The whole cave suddenly exploded like a bomb, dozens of fire formations activated at the same time, large amounts of flames intertwined, dozens of burning sounds burst out simultaneously, as if transforming into a beast-like primal roar.
"Ever since I created this move, this is the first time I have used it... Let me see its power..." Lin Xin murmured, slowly stretching out his right hand, his face full of blood-red patterns suddenly lit up with red light.
Whoosh.
A lotus-like flame ignited in his palm.
In an instant, all the flames in the cave, whether ignited by the fire formations on his body or by those on Yin Mantuo, were all absorbed into this lotus-like flame at the same time.
******************
Bang!!
The cave by the waterfall burst open, stones shattered and countless dark red flames surged out, magma flowed down from the cave entrance into the deep pool, evaporating a large amount of steam.
Hua Yunu’s eyes narrowed, staring intently at the cave entrance.
"You actually survived?"
A dark red figure appeared at the entrance, his body wrapped in flames like a burning red torch.
The twisted flames roared, like some kind of beast’s angry roar.
"I should thank you, though," Lin Xin said as his entire body, wrapped in the fire of the formations, levitated. "If it weren’t for that claw of yours, it might have taken me much longer to fully integrate this move..."
"Your power has increased at least tenfold..." Hua Yunu’s expression became serious, "Using formations to amplify your own Spiritual Energy, drawing on the Spiritual Fire of heaven and earth without limit? Your body can’t possibly endure it...!"
"Indeed, as you said, my body is almost unable to withstand it, even if just as a carrier for the formation... However," Lin Xin said leisurely.
He raised one index finger.
"Ten breaths."
"What?!" Hua Yunu was slightly stunned.
"Ten breaths, to deal with you!"
Before the sound of his voice fell, countless dark red flames suddenly appeared before Hua Yunu’s eyes. Intense heat enveloped her from all directions.
"Red Flower Sword Path, Qilin!"
The voice seemed to ring right in his ears.
*****************************
Dongyue, carrying Jing’er, cautiously ran out from the side, the violent explosions and sword cries from behind him at the waterfall shook the ground slightly.
"Running away like this... isn’t that a bit improper...?" Jing’er whispered.
"It’s fine, I know who is helping us. He helps us because he wants us to successfully escape and ensure our safety. If we don’t take the opportunity to run now, his coming will be pointless!" Dongyue struggled to find his way deeper into the dense forest as he ran and responded.
The sound of gurgling streams around them covered their slightly hurried footsteps.
"Where are we going?"
Jing’er asked softly.
Dongyue didn’t know where they should go, momentarily feeling like there was nowhere in the vast world for them to stay.
"Yeah, where can we go?"
He suddenly stopped, looking bewildered.
"Let’s find a place to hide first. As long as my wounds heal... everything can be discussed," said Jing’er, struggling.
"Okay." Dongyue regained his focus and continued running deeper into the forest.
He had just taken a few steps when a shadow slowly emerged from behind the trunk directly in front.
"Aye aye aye... if it isn’t my dear sister? You’re in such a hurry, where are you thinking of going?" The shadow revealed itself to be a black beetle, just over one person tall, and it opened its mouthpiece to speak in a human voice.
Its six saw-like black legs deeply pierced the ground like nails.
"Fedora... my sister... I have been looking very hard for you..." The beetle spoke in a mature male voice.
Dongyue tensed up completely, the Jing’er on his back shivered.
She bit her lip, her thoughts swiftly considering countless options, yet ultimately her gaze landed on Dongyue, softening into a tender look.
"Ferro... you’ve always wanted my transformation, haven’t you? I’ll give it to you, all of it," she said with a hint of resolve in her eyes.
"For me?!" The beetle slightly stunned, seemingly perplexed by her words. "Are you... serious?"
Any trace of levity in his voice had vanished, replaced by seriousness and skepticism.
"Truly," Jing’er said softly, "but I need you to do me three favors!"
The beetle lowered his body, a hint of ecstasy flickering in his six eyes.
"What favors! Speak, if it’s within my power, I’ll certainly help!" he exclaimed.
Dongyue, standing nearby, could not understand what was being said, feeling rather bewildered. Moreover, the language they were using seemed to be a private common language among beetle tamers. He was even more confused, only judging from Jing’er’s tone that she seemed to be giving up something extremely important.
"We’re as close as siblings, my sister’s concerns are my concerns. Please speak!" the beetle continued.
Jing’er paused for a moment, then closed her eyes slightly.
"First request, ensure our safety and a peaceful life for a hundred years. We won’t make it difficult for you; just needing a secluded place is enough," she stated.
"That I can do!" the beetle affirmed.
"Second, I want that section of the dragon bone you keep," Jing’er spoke faintly.
"Dragon bone? What do you need it for?" the beetle hesitated slightly but then resoluted, "That’s okay, that thing is of no use to me anyway, better to exchange it with my sister than with the humans."
"The third request, I haven’t thought of it yet, let’s talk about it later," Jing’er said softly.
"Fair enough, to exhaust such centuries of cultivation so hastily would really make me doubt your sincerity," the beetle spoke deeply.
"I’ll lead you to a place to heal and rest first!"
"No hurry," Jing’er shook her head, "I still have something else to do."
****************
The dark red fire, like blood plasma, continuously burned at the edge of the waterfall, streaming down through the crevices of the rocks into the pool, emitting hissing steam and high temperatures.
Lin Xin gripped the Red Flower Sword in both hands, the Dual Swords were completely destroyed in fierce battle and unusable, and he had no choice but to draw the Red Flower Sword for the fight.
A treasured robe had enabled him to suffer only minor injuries in that last strike, but the robe was also completely ruined.
At that moment, he stood by the pool, his body wrapped in a mass of dark red flame tendrils resembling vine-like fiery serpents slowly moving around him.
The dark red fiery vine tendrils around him looked exactly like a miniaturized Yin Mantuo, encircling him like a flame armor, isolating everything from the outside world.
Directly in front of him, a large mass of dark red flame torches burned fiercely, seemingly enveloping a kneeling humanoid figure.
Shua.
With the Red Flower Sword held beside him, Lin Xin freed one hand, the arm also ablaze, as the fiery tendrils completely covered most of his skin, causing the surrounding air to subtly distort.
"Transforming Dragon Technique, half-dragon half-human, truly a formidable life force..."
The high temperature that could melt stones didn’t turn the adversary into instant charcoal.
He stared at Hua Yunu inside the burning flames with a strange look, a burst of black and red fire igniting in his free palm, slowly blooming like a red lotus.
"Do you... think you have beaten me...?" Within the flames, Hua Yunu struggled to stand up, unsteady, supporting himself on the ground with a massive Dragon Arm.
Wow!
He spit out a mouthful of fresh blood which vaporized before it even hit the ground.
"This flame...!?" he suddenly realized something was amiss, this flame was not merely about burning with high temperatures.
Suddenly, he reached out his hand.
Hum!
A wall-like array of red symbols suddenly appeared on the perimeter of the flame, a dense array of Formation Patterns illuminating the area he touched.
Hissss...
The Dragon Claw that made contact was also scorched black. The original golden Dragon Thorns, even under the intense burning of the dark red flames, had remained unscathed, but merely making contact with the outer red wall of flames directly dimmed the gold,
"This is...!!" Hua Yunu fiercely exerted force again, hammering hard on the perimeter of the flames.
Hum!
Another violent vibration, and the red rune wall reappeared.
"It’s no use." Lin Xin moved the Red Flower Sword, slowly straightening it in front of him, pointing towards his opponent.
"My Qilin merged dozens of different flames, fused by a unique decree I discovered during an accident, transforming through sound frequency vibrations into one entity, becoming a terrifying flame of such power that not even I can ascertain."
Lin Xin’s face bore red Formation Patterns extending to the corners of his eyes and stretching backward, giving him an unusually sinister and eerie appearance.
"Even I, if trapped inside, wouldn’t know if I could make it out."
"How can this be...! I, Hua Yunu... how can I possibly... die here!?" the fire-array bound Hua Yunu suddenly knelt down, his massive Dragon Claw turning into golden light, swirling continuously around his entire body.
"Heavenly Yin....."
Hua Yunu growled in a low voice.
"Heavenly Yin..... Dragon Garb!!!"
He suddenly roared skyward, the golden light suddenly attaching itself to him, isolating the surrounding flames, and his whole body seemed to stiffen at once, his chest slowly revealing a golden circular hole, inside which a Taiji Diagram flowed slowly with black and white colors.
Hisss!!
Suddenly, from within the Taiji Diagram, a white and golden dragon shape burst forth, fierce and twisted, slamming hard into the surrounding firewall of fire runes.
Crack!
The wall finally began to show some stress, revealing faint cracks.(To be continued. If you enjoyed this work, feel free to cast your recommendation and monthly votes at Qidian (qidian.com). Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
