Chapter 389: A Happy News
Viviana found her entire world going dark. But still, she couldn’t stop her smiling.
I am Minerva Michaels, wife of Leon Michaels.
Oh, wait... I wanted to have a dance with my father. I wanted to see Leon dancing with Ziya...
Wait...
Where am I?
When Viviana came to, she was surrounded by light. She heard the voice of someone familiar. She didn’t like his voice. Squinting her eyes, she tried to look around.
Oh, sh*t! Why am I at the hospital?
She looked at her. She was not wearing her dress anymore. She was wearing the hospital gown and there was an IV connected to her. She sighed.
What happened now? My day wasn’t even over yet!
She searched for her husband but he was not in the room. IN fact, there was no one in that room.
"Hello..." she called.
A head popped in. Even in her confused state, she couldn’t help but smile seeing that face.
"Leo..."
He rushed in.
"You’re fine... You’re fine..." he hugged her. "It’s okay. You’ll be fine..."
Viviana who was not anxious till then started to feel nervous. He was trembling.
"Leo... is something wrong?" she asked.
She was feeling stressed lately. She didn’t think that there was more to it. But judging by his reaction, she got doubtful.
"Leo!" she clutched his shirt.
He was still wearing the dress shirt he was wearing at the reception. But it was crinkled and he sounded scared and tired.
"There is nothing to worry about, Signora..." Doctor Nathaniel walked in.
"You?" Viviana’s heart started to pound. "You never give me good news."
"That’s..." he gulped. "...hurtful, Signora."
Viviana looked at Leon. He was still clinging to her. Usually, he would not stay hugging her when there is someone else in the room. This time, he appeared to be afraid to let her go. He refused to let her see his face and she got scared.
She didn’t want to die. She wanted to live.
"What is wrong with me?" She shouted.
Leander pressed his forehead on her shoulder and wrapped his arms around her waist.
Nathan smiled. "Here," he gave her a bunch of papers.
Viviana got them and shifted through them. Something slipped down—a dark paper, thick like a photograph.
She picked it up and observed it. Her hands shook as she couldn’t believe what she was looking at.
"Is this..." she looked at the doctor.
Nathaniel smiled and nodded. "It is Signora. It is your baby. Congratulations, you are pregnant!"
Viviana’s lips trembled and she couldn’t peel her eyes off the little photograph in her hand.
"Leo!" she gripped his shoulders hard. "Did you hear him? Leo, did you hear? I am... I am...Oh, God!"
She hugged him and started to sob.
"Ziya! Where’s Ziya?" she asked amidst her sobs.
"She’s with her uncle. I’ll tell your family about the good news too," Nathan got out of the room and closed the door.
"Leo!" she pushed him back. She didn’t know what he was thinking. He was behaving oddly.
"Are you not happy?" she punched his arm.
Leon looked up. His eyes were red and he was pressing his lips. He looked like he was holding back his sobs.
"Oh, Leo," she hugged him. "I love you. I love you so much..."
"I’m scared, Lemon..." he said. "He says that your uterus is weak and you might have to stay on bed rest. And still, there might be a lot of complications. I am happy. I am happy..." he touched her belly. "I am happy you are carrying my baby, but... I cannot, baby. I cannot even think of losing~"
Viviana covered his mouth before he finished. "I am not going to die, Leo. I want to live. I want to live with you for a long time. I am not going to die..."
Leon hugged her.
"Leo," she held his cheeks. "I need you, all right. I need you, strong, by my side. We can do this together. We can have a child of ours... Wouldn’t that be wonderful?"
Leon kissed her forehead. He took in a deep breath. "Anything goes wrong, I am saving you. You should not hold that against me. It’s my only condition," he said.
He wouldn’t lie. He was happy. But only the fear of losing her overcame him. He would give up anything and anyone for her. She alone is all he needed and all he loved more than anything.
Viviana didn’t agree at all with him but she nodded. She can take care of it when the time comes. She placed her hand over her stomach.
I’ll protect you, baby. I’ll give up anything for you!
Leonardo came in with Ziya and Viviana hugged Ziya. "Ziya! You are going to become a big sister!"
Ziya smiled beautifully.
Viviana vowed in her heart not to let Ziya lose this beautiful smile of hers. No matter what, Ziya was her firstborn because she was the one who made her a mother first.
Leon walked to Steve. Apparently, the youngest daughter of Helena was admitted in the same hospital with a serious spinal fracture as she slipped down from the roof. The eldest daughter was traumatized.
As for Helena... she ended with Steve’s bullet to her head. Steve asked for his forgiveness for taking that decision by himself. But he did not regret his decision. Steve didn’t want Helena to be a thorn by his Signora’s side so he killed her.
Leon was confused till then wondering about Viviana’s reaction but now, he found that Steve’s decision was right. Helena was so far gone that she didn’t even mind the safety of the children she gave birth to. What kind of danger would she pose for his wife whom she hates?
It’s better she’s dead!
"She need not to know, Steve," Leon patted his trusted man’s shoulder.
Steve nodded.
"Capo," he leaned closer. "The eldest’s blood didn’t match her sister’s," he said.
Steve didn’t know if it was important but he was hearing this and that about Helena these days. He had a doubt and he wanted to ask permission from his boss to continue probing.
Leon raised his brows. "Check her DNA. We still have some of Evander’s blood, right?" he asked.
Steve nodded.
"Congratulations, boss," he smiled widely before leaving.
Leander peeked inside. His lips curved up seeing the happiness on her face.
I hope this smile stays on your face forever, Lemon. I am going to make sure it stays!
