Chapter 382: A Proposal with Passionate Love

Leander kissed her. Her words were like a soothing salve for him. He could see the care she had for him in those pretty black eyes. She was worried about his feelings and looked like she would take on the entire world for his sake.

What more would a man want from his woman?

"I think my father tried to overcompensate my mother who raised me as a girl. That was why he pushed the gun in my hand early and brought me with him to every fight. I’ve forgiven him too."

Leander said brushing aside her hair. He didn’t want her to have negative feelings about his father. He didn’t. Honestly, he didn’t care much about his past anymore. There wasn’t anything there that he would like to remember about the family he had in the past.

She is the only one he wanted to remember. She was the one best thing that happened to him. He didn’t want to waste his time and energy thinking about those who weren’t important. He didn’t want her to waste her time feeling bad for his past too.

"Shall we go?" he asked folding the letter.

Her clothes were still wet and he didn’t want her to catch a cold. He decided to leave so that she could get changed.

Viviana looked at him.

"What?" he asked. He could see that she was expecting something from him but he didn’t know what she was expecting from him.

Was it his jacket for her cold?

He threw his jacket back there. "Are you cold?" he asked.

"You’re such a dumb man, Leo," she said with a little smirk patting his trouser pocket. "There is something left, isn’t there?" she asked.

Leander smiled. Of course, she found the ring!

"In the letter, of course," Viviana added. "You didn’t finish reading the letter."

She knew he didn’t finish the letter. He didn’t read the last page. She wanted to know what it was. Also, that ring box has been poking her for some time now. She thought he would propose to her after finishing the letter. She didn’t like that he wanted to pack up.

Aren’t they in the perfect place for a proposal?

Leander held her waist with a smile. He didn’t want her to figure out what he was planning but she did. He fell in love with a terrific woman.

"Then stand up," he said helping her up.

He cannot propose to her while she is sitting on him.

Viviana stood up and fixed her clothes. She looked around and there was no one, not even a drone around. Her life the past year was filled with flashes whenever something important happened to her.

The silence was great. Being alone with him at that precious moment was perfect!

"What?" she asked seeing him looking for something in his pockets.

"My phone..." he bit his lips and then realizing something he sighed. "...In my jacket..."

Viviana kept on looking at him. He looked nervous. She didn’t understand why though. It’s not like she was going to refuse him. What was he nervous about?

With a flushed face, he knelt on a knee. Viviana’s heart skipped a beat. Everything around came to a standstill. The reassuring sound of the crashing waves and the scent the sea carried all went numb. He cleared his throat and her heart started to pound inside her chest cavity.

She took it all in.

Her man was not wearing a tuxedo. He was just wearing his trousers and his undershirt. It was a sight to behold. The wet undershirt stuck to his skin revealing his chiseled muscles. She’s rarely seen him nervous, which added to the romantic ambience in that musty cave.

Her man had the ability to turn any place into a mystical forest just with his charisma, she thought, not fully understanding how much her love was affecting her vision.

"I wanted to play a song," he said. That was the reason he was looking for his phone.

"Haven’t learned to sing?" she asked. Her voice broke, this time out of excitement.

"I will pale in front of you even if I learn to sing like an angel, Angel," he said without missing a beat.

Viviana bit her lips and bowed her head. She was lost for words. She knew she was blushing.

What a man!

"You’re too much, Leo..." she gathered her courage to see his face.

Holding the letter to his chest, he looked at her. She knew he was going to say something. She fought her instinct to look down and maintained her eye contact with him. She had a feeling that she’d regret it if she didn’t look at his face for the next minute or two.

And she was right!

"I have no grip on anything..." he said.

Her eyebrows lifted and she took a step closer. She thought he was in pain. With a smile, he shook his head and waved the letter in his hand.

Viviana realized that he was reading from the letter. Well, he was not reading. He knew what was in the letter word by word. She remembered the last thing he read was how Leona felt confused with everything happening around.

"But I know one thing, Melanie..." Leander continued. "I know I have you, my Angel, my love. As I told you earlier, I’m going to reach out to you, Melanie. I’m going to crown you with flowers that won’t wither and you’ll be mine forever."

The tears that had stopped till then started to flood her eyes once more. That day, everything around Leona was coming down crumbling. Leona’s entire life as he knew it was exposed as a lie. Even in that extreme situation, Leona could find a solid support in little old her.

That love was too much to bear.

Leander put his hand in his trouser pocket and pulled out the box.

"Will you come to me? Will you be mine forever? Please don’t forget me. Please don’t refuse my hand. Then I will have to force you. I would hate to do that. But you are all I have, Melanie. I will burn down the world for you. I love you so much. I love you more than I can express..."

Viviana tried hard to not cry, but she couldn’t. She covered her mouth with her hands to stop herself from sobbing.

He did it, didn’t he? He burned down his entire world for me and came to me. He protected me and loved me more than anyone in this world!

Taking out the ring, Leander held out his hand. "So, please come to me, my darling Angel...With passionate love... Your Michael...Here asking for your~"

Viviana ran to him and hugged him around the neck. "I am already with you, dearest Michael! Of course, I will come to you! You are all I have and all I love. Of course... Of course..."
