Chapter 356: A Deal

Viviana thought that Leonardo would try to infringe her day out with Angelina but he didn’t. She was told that he was resting at home. It was odd for him to not go out and sleep in his room but that guy deserved that rest.

Viviana mainly shopped for Ziya. Angelina was a big help. While at it, Viviana did some shopping for Angelina’s charities too. It was rare to find a charity that was truly making a change and she was glad to support the charity.

She was spending hours with Angelina and Vivana couldn’t believe that she was with a wealthy lady from an affluent family. Angelina talked and behaved like a normal upper-middle-class woman and Viviana was impressed.

Angelina also talked about her various travels and Viviana was ashamed a bit. She too traveled to a lot of countries but she only touched the affluent part of the countries, Angelina had visited the improvised parts of various countries and has helped thousands.

Angelina is a better person than me!

Viviana would say that with no hesitation anytime, anywhere.

While they were shopping, Viviana couldn’t move past a menswear store. Maybe the display showing a lot of dark-colored clothes was the reason.

She excused herself and walked in. Angelina followed in too.

Viviana looked around. Her eyes ended up on a black shirt with maroon stripes. The first shirt she got him was also maroon color. That shirt must have gotten burnt in the fire.

She decided to buy that shirt in his size. But then she remembered that he looked a lot thinner in the recent videos she saw. She mostly saw his backside but she could see that he had lost some weight.

She got a size smaller than his usual size. She couldn’t help but smile as she paid the bill. The last time she bought him a gift, she was strapped for cash. She had to check the tag for the cost and had to count her money. But this time, she could swipe her card without even looking at the bill.

How time changes!

She looked for Angelina and she was looking at a white colored shirt. It was obvious who she was choosing for.

"Will it fit him?" Angelina asked showing a size.

"He has broad shoulders and a slim waist, so a slim fit would suit him better than a regular fit," Viviana suggested.

"That’s a good point. Thank you," Angelina rushed to the next section and chose a shirt with a slim fit.

Viviana watched as Angelina painstakingly chose a shirt after checking the fabric, the button design, and other aspects of the shirt. She had a beautiful smile after choosing a shirt.

Viviana remembered what Leonardo told her the previous night.

Someone to smile thinking of me...

Well, brother! Maybe you didn’t have to look far after all. You had her by your side and yet you let her leave.

"I better get one for my brother and Dad too. I can’t have him think I got it for him alone," she mumbled the last phrase and went around choosing for her family.

It didn’t even take a minute for her to choose for her brother and father. Viviana waited for her to pay the bill.

"I should get something for my mother and sisters too," Angelina said. "But maybe we should get a coffee first."

Viviana agreed. Viviana enjoyed the chocolate pastry and the hot coffee.

"How long are you in love with him?" Viviana asked. "I’m sorry if I seem to be intruding on your privacy, but... I am intruding on your privacy...I’m sorry..." Viviana grimaced.

It was awkward for her to talk about it but she didn’t want to leave it as it is either.

"It’s okay..." Angelina waved her hand. "When I heard Leonardo suddenly has a sister, I wondered what you’d be like. You’re nothing like I imagined. I’ve... I intruded on your privacy too. I googled the name "Melanie Filia Dei". And I... I ended up getting confused after I confirmed that you are his wife, and from what I heard, you grew up in an orphanage?" Allison asked.

Viviana smiled. Allison is clever. Rather than getting defensive about keeping her secrets, she was willing to talk to her about them in exchange for her secrets.

Viviana only found it fair. It’s not like she needed to guard her secret anymore. There is a possibility that Angelina might gossip about it with her friends and they might talk about her colorful past, but Viviana was well above that. She was us as an orphan and she didn’t mind it if others knew about it. Her father might get hurt if others spoke about it. But he too can accept that it was her reality.

Also, she didn’t think anyone would laugh at her for growing up as an orphan knowing that Vito Vitale had accepted her as his daughter.

Viviana told Angelina everything. She also told why Melanie had to "die" and how she ended up knowing that she is Leonardo’s sister. Angelina was more than awed.

"I’m sorry I revealed the entire plot of "The Fatal Encounter"," Viviana joked. "I should have put a "spoiler alert warning"." She laughed.

"Oh my God! That movie is based on your story?" Angelina asked.

"It is," Viviana shrugged. "Lionel Waldorf is a friend of my husband."

"Is?" Angelina raised her brows.

Viviana could see the bewilderment and the awkwardness on Angelina’s face. She must be confused to hear her refer to her "dead" husband in the present tense.

"It’s... It is kind of a long story," Viviana said. "I don’t want to talk about it."

Viviana didn’t know if she could talk about it to everyone. Angelina understood what she was trying to say and she nodded.

"So, what’s your story? I can get Nellie to make your story too, you know if you permit..." Viviana winked.

"My story?" Angelina placed her coffee cup down. "It’s every Rom-com story, you know... Girl likes boy for as long as she can remember, boy considers girl a sister, the girl doesn’t want to lose his care and pretends to be a boy to stay closer to the boy, the boy never sees her as a "girl" he can date, girl watches in pain as he dates girls one after the other, girl confesses not willing to be in pain anymore and pushes him to a corner, the boy runs away without answering, the girl decides to leave the country because burying herself in the ground was not an option..."

Angelina covered her face.

"Did you wait for him in the airport?" Viviana asked.

What’s a rom-com without an airport or railway station scene, right?

Angelina peeked out from between her fingers.

"He didn’t address your confession?" Viviana asked.

"He acted as if we were brothers, you know, like always... It floored me. It’s one thing when the one you like doesn’t like you back, but it is something else when you never are in his league, you know...It’s like you never existed and you’d feel as if you’re not a woman anymore," Angelina sighed.

"And..." Angelina looked up taking in a deep breath. "It’s why I will never get jealous of you. I know how he treats family. I am family; just not the way I want to be his family; family nonetheless...You are family too. You do not need money. Even if you want money, I don’t mind letting you take it. I don’t care for his money. I only want to be his wife...and carry his children and grow old with him..."

Viviana nodded. That might hurt. "You are not giving up!" she said. She really liked Angelina. She was honest.

"One year. Maybe I will give it a year. And then... I don’t know..." Angelina sighed and looked down at her palm. "Maybe I’ll keep on traveling and helping whoever I can...I... I will succeed. Maybe I can get naked, you know. He suddenly found out I have tits," she grimaced.

"Do not degrade yourself for any man," Viviana waved her hand. She said it because Angelina found that idea to be abhorrent too.

"I know... but I am losing patience...I’ve been holding on for this long and I..."

"It’s okay..." Viviana held her hand.

Angelina nodded.

"You’ve never been with anyone else?" Viviana asked.

Again, she found herself to be intruding, but she couldn’t help it.

"It’s hard to date another person when you have a strong feeling for someone else, you know. Even if it’s not cheating, it’s...I don’t think it’s right, not in my book...I know I am weird...Just for unrequited love, I~"

"Oh, no!" Viviana interjected. "I find you admirable. There aren’t a lot like you these days. I like you, Angelina. I really like you... And I think you are what Leonardo needs. He’s a man whore but~"

"I don’t care," Angelina said. "I am pathetic."

"Preach!" Viviana said.

She knew how to be pathetically in love too.

"I’ll help you if you want any, Angelina. I promise," Viviana held her hand.

"You will?" Angelina’s eyes watered with happiness.

"Yes, if you promise to wear our brand dress for your wedding, or engagement party," she winked.

Angelina laughed wiping the corner of her eyes. "It’s a deal!"
