Chapter 347: A New Boat

Leonardo stayed at Lemon Heights for a couple of days before returning. Viviana smelt the refreshing air in Abenney and she felt at home. Martha too had a bright smile on her face as Nelson was sent with her.

Viviana didn’t tell her that she was the one who asked for Nelson’s presence. She decided to wait for when Martha figures out her feelings and tell her that she is in love with Nelson.

Days passed and she had her phone in her hand all the time and her eyes were at the gate, expecting the arrival of her husband.

But her husband never arrived.

Viviana got bored of waiting. At times, she would worry if something bad had happened to him and other times she was just mad at him for leaving her alone. It has become his habit to leave her on her own thinking that she will be there for him whenever he returns.

She’s not that easy, alright? She has pride. She needs to show him that she will move on without him!

She will huff and puff in anger thinking this and that. Her habit of overthinking never went away. When it came to her husband, her thoughts would wander to the sky.

Her anger though, would go away in the blink of her eye.

He leaves her alone because he trusts her love. He knows he will wait for her. And that’s what she will do.

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t stay mad at him. She loved him more than anything. Even the anger she felt at times was an expression of love. Her anger was an expression of her disappointment. She knew that he loves her the most and if he was keeping away from her, there must be an apt reason.

But her nights have been awfully lonely these days.

Ever since she learned with proof that her husband was alive, she could only yearn for him more. Being in the same bed they spent countless nights in while drowning in the passion of their love, her body yearned for him more and more. The frustration of not having him near her to hold her came out as anger.

Loneliness is the most terrible feeling in the world.

She had no one to show her anger to and it was only affecting her. So, her anger was pointless. She started to get insomnia again and she had to seek the help of the pill to get a good night’s sleep.

If she didn’t have Ziya and her puppies, she would have lost her mind.

Viviana could sense that she is going the wrong route. Just being here for a couple of weeks, she has once again started to get focused on the negatives of her life. Maybe she should have stayed with her father. She had nice distractions once in a while and she wasn’t as depressed as she is now.

She was also a little sad to bring Ziya away from Leonardo. Ziya was getting along with her brother splendidly. She needed that male influence in her life—a father figure. Leonardo was just that. Seeing Ziya miss her uncle, she felt guilty.

But he will be here soon. My Leo.

But thinking about that made her worried too. Leander didn’t even try to get along with Ziya in the times he was with them. Will he get along with Ziya after he comes back? Will he take on the role of a father?

Ziya needs a father.

She didn’t want to give up. She put her mind to redecorating her house. She brought fresh plants inside the house as she loved the lush greenery inside the house. She changed the furniture in the house and remodeled the kitchen.

Her father and brother visited her on the weekends and those days were fun. Leonardo told her that he has started dating Allison Barnes and that everything was going well. Vito was so happy; He had already started making wedding plans. Their relationship had progressed to the extent of both families meeting each other.

Viviana attended the dinner with her father. She still sensed an air of chill on her from Allison and her family, but she ignored it. Her father was happy, she was happy and that was enough for her. Allison was so in love with Leonardo and it was obvious.

Maybe a bit too much, perhaps. Too much of anything is good for nothing, they say. But will love come in that category? Doesn’t love win all?

Weeks passed into months and there was just a month left before the premiere of Lionel’s movie "The Fatal Encounter".

Ziya was saying more words and she loved to run around. The angel statue in the garden was her favorite. Viviana showed her pictures of Leander for her to get used to him too.

He will return any time soon.

That day, Leonardo asked her to accompany them to the sea. Usually, Allison wouldn’t visit her with Leonardo but that day she was with him. She was all smiles and Viviana thought that she had warmed up to her.

Viviana didn’t want to be the awkward third wheel and she really was not in the headspace to watch a young couple in their honeymoon phase when she was missing her husband. But Leonardo insisted she joined them. Not bearing his nagging, she agreed after handing over Ziya to Martha.

When they reached the dock, she was for a surprise. She was under the impression that they were renting a boat but there was a new boat at the dock. It had a leafy lemon tree branch.

Lionel, Danielle, and Gabriella were there. Lionel had a bright smile on his face probably because he got to have a fun time with Gabriella. Danielle looked excited too.

"Is that a new boat? You bought a new boat?" Viviana asked Leonardo.

Leonardo shrugged.

Viviana got near the boat. "Wombat’s Gold... That’s an odd name for a boat," she said.

"What’s odd? That’s clever," Leonardo said.

"Whatever you say," Viviana shrugged.

"Here," Leonardo passed her a champagne bottle. "Break this on the bow," he offered it to her.

Allison looked at Leonardo with surprise and Viviana noticed that.

"Allison should do it," Viviana said.

Leonardo was not taking it. "Here," he stuffed the champagne bottle in her hand. "You should christen your boat."

My boat?

Viviana blinked her eyes in confusion.
