Chapter 343: Leonardo’s Plan

The glass marble bounced once on the marble floor and rolled down the floor toward the stair. Ignazio standing by the stair kicked the marble for it to gain momentum and the marble rolled its way to the grass.

The sound of laughter of little Ziya filled the veranda. She tried her best to clap her hands while laughing to see her uncle running to the grass to get the marble.

Leonardo got up the stairs and standing near the couch, let go of the marble. The marble bounced on the floor twice before rolling. This time, the marble had enough momentum to roll down the stairs on its own making Ziya’s happiness triple.

"Ahdo... Ahdo..."

Gesturing for Leonardo to drop the marble once again, Ziya waddled behind Leonardo.

"Careful now..." Leonardo caught her as she got too close to his shoes. "Look how small you are... Why are you running into my legs? You might hurt yourself..."

Ziya laughed clapping her hands.

"What? You want me to drop it?" Leonardo asked.

"Yeah..." Ziya jumped, or at least tried to jump.

Leonardo laughed and dropped the marble once more and the game continued.

Martha sighed leaning on the tree nearby. They’ve been playing this game for more than thirty minutes. Usually, Ziya would get bored within ten minutes but this time it lasts longer. And Leonardo was continuing the game without trying to change her mind. He should be tired by now.

Whatever, she didn’t mind it. In fact, she was happy to see Ziya getting coddled by her uncle.

It’s been three days after the party. Viviana was more than happy these past days and her happiness had spread everywhere making this house colorful. She had a meeting with Danielle regarding her business and she had left the house for the morning.

Leonardo was home after being very busy for the past two days. Martha thought he would spend time outside the hosue with his women but he was staying home spending time with Ziya.

He’s a weird guy.

She averted her eyes as Leonardo looked in her direction. She saw Vito’s car coming in the driveway. There was another car behind his car. He must be having a meeting.

"Ziya, have some juice," Martha picked up the sipper and brought it to Ziya. Once Ziya sees Vito she would be hard to control. She needed to distract little Ziya. "It’s your favorite apple juice... here..."

But Ziya was not getting the sipper. She ran to the front door. She has already heard Vito’s car. Putting his hands inside his trouser pockets, Leonardo followed.

"Pop-pop!" Ziya’s face brightened the moment Vito alighted from his car.

Martha tried to catch Ziya as she staggered on the stairs but she managed to balance herself and ran to Vito.

"Who is this little angel? Who is this?" Vito picked Ziya up and kissed her cheek.

As if she hasn’t seen him for ages, Ziya wrapped her little hands around Vito’s neck tightly.

"Aww... did my angel miss me?" Vito hugged her back and got up the stairs.

He waved his hand, dismissing Martha. Martha understood that Vito is bringing Ziya with him for the meeting. She checked the ones who followed. They looked like C-level execs from the legal businesses the Vitale family owns.

Martha retracted. If it was a meeting with one of their illegal partners, Signora wouldn’t let Ziya with them. It’s not like Signora didn’t trust Vito. She just didn’t like those bad men to lay their eyes on Ziya. She feared it might be dangerous for Ziya one day or another.

"Ah!"

She almost cussed as she turned seeing the tall figure in front of her. Leonardo smiled at her and her palms went cold.

It’s okay, Martha... Let’s pretend we didn’t see him and walk around him...

She took a step to the side and Leonardo slid in front of her.

She held her breath and looked up. She pressed her lips to hide them trembling. What does he want with me?

"Are you scared of me?" Leonardo asked seeing the perspiration on her face.

"No," Martha wetted her lips and instinctively covered her chest. "I know you won’t hurt me. If you hurt me Signora wouldn’t~"

"Heh! Hurt you?" Leonardo scoffed.

Martha looked away. Does this guy not know what his reputation is? He’s with women all the time. What woman would feel safe with him?

"Hey!" Leonardo shouted at her.

He’s been treating her so well just because she is his siter’s maid. And what does he get back in return? Heh! Why is everyone associated with my sister so dumb?

Martha had gathered her courage by then. This guy wouldn’t hurt her for real. She is being treated well in this house because Signora considered her as a friend. There is no need for her to be afraid of him.

She looked at him. "Do you need me for something, Mr. Vitale?" she asked in a polite tone.

"Leave that..." Leonardo waved his hand in front of her face. "What did you mean by hurt you? Did you think that I would r*pe you?" he asked.

Martha said nothing. That was exactly what her first thought was. But thinking through, she understood she was scared for no reason.

"I never r*pe. Hey, look at me," Leonardo shouted. "I’ve never touched a woman without her consent. Who do you think I am? I’ve never found the need to r*pe a woman. They always throw themselves on my lap. Why would I~" He sighed. "And you’re not even my type."

"Thank you, Mr. Vitale," Martha bowed her head. She was glad she was not Leonardo’s type.

Leonardo did not like the attitude of the woman at all. But he needed her.

Vito Vitale came out of his room and he saw Leonardo talking with Viviana’s maid. "What’s going on there?" he asked.

He had asked Leonardo to treat Viviana’s maid properly. She got mad at him for hurting her dog and she wouldn’t like it if he showed his character to her maid. Vito didn’t want his daughter to find a reason to leave them already.

"He is planning on keeping the princess here forever," Ignazio said.

Vito looked at him with a curious furrow between his eyes.

Ignazio told him Leonardo’s plans.

Vito looked at Ignazio with awe. "He came up with that plan?" he asked.

Ignazio nodded.
