Leander took a glance at his grandfather. Peter was not stopping what was going on here. Barnabas was not planning on interfering too.

Hosea caused a lot of damage to the Kastello family. Word on the vine was that Donatello was the one who spearheaded the campaign against the Kastello family.

But anyone smart can say that Donatello had help. Who it was remains a mystery. But it is good Leander shows Donatello what the Kastello family is about. Everyone should know that the Kastello family is not to be messed with.

That includes the Vitale family too.

But... to let a woman take the glory... Leander sure is besotted with that woman. Also, what’s with the interest Leonardo Vitale shows in her? There should be more to it.

Has Leander joined hands with the Vitale family against the Kastello family?

Barnabas decided to investigate.

Hosea crawled to Viviana on his knees and started to beg her.

"I am sorry, Signora Kastello. You will not see Nadia ever again. Spare her life, please..." Hosea begged Viviana.

Viviana didn’t know how to decide anything. She did not want Nadia dead. But she can see that the situation calls for the death of Nadia.

Before Viviana said anything, Nadia screamed her throat off holding her head. She scratched and scratched and she screamed as she saw locks of her hair tangled in her fingers.

Screaming in agony, Nadia scratched her hair. Tears as big as pearls rolled down her cheeks. No one could differentiate whether she screamed in pain or for the loss of her hair.

"What’s wrong with me? What is happening to me?" Nadia wailed.

Her scalp was exposed around the crown area as the hair fall was severe in that area. As Nadia scratched, patches of red formed on her scalp as it bled.

Those who were around scattered away thinking that there might be an outbreak of a dangerous virus.

Hosea ran to his daughter and hugged her. Carrying her, he ran through the crowd. Everyone let him pass.

Viviana observed Leonardo. She had a feeling this was Leonardo’s doing. He knew everything about her. It possibly is his retaliation for the time Nadia bleached her hair.

But she already got back at Nadia for that.

Whatever!

Viviana could only sigh. Leonardo glanced at her but then averted his eyes.

Viviana looked at Leander. Leander looked at her blankly. But when he looked at Leonardo, there was a twinge of pity in his eyes.

If he wants to get on good terms with this bleeding-heart woman, this is not the way!

Leander cleared his throat. It’s not his problem.

Leander called Steve. "Drop her at home," he said before walking to his grandfather.

Everyone here has gotten a show they wanted. Now it is back to business.

Viviana was glad she got to go home. This place is too scary for her taste. She’d rather be home and have some rest.

First thing after she got home, Viviana checked what Leonardo told the press. Her headache worsened and she decided that the powerplay by those men are irrelevant to her.

She has only a few working brain cells. She didn’t want to damage them by thinking too hard.

Why should she think hard about anything when she has her husband? He’s the smartest person she knows and she trusted that he will do the thinking on her behalf and protect her.

She decided to rest.

She couldn’t fall asleep as Leonardo’s face popped into her head. She googled the Vitale family and found one of the images of Vito Vitale.

He is my father...

She kept on staring at the picture. She couldn’t stop smiling. One cannot say that Vito was very handsome. But he had a lithe figure and his mannerisms screamed regal presence. He looked like a commander.

She might be taking a big leap here, but she had a feeling if Leonardo said that she is a Vitale, then he would have proof of that.

She searched for Leonardo’s mother. She had a feeling that she might not be her mother, but she couldn’t help her curiosity.

She definitely is not my mother!

Viviana stared at the picture of the divine beauty on the phone screen. Apparently, she was a famous actress before she married Vito Vitale. There were many rumors surrounding her. Some said that she was threatened to marry Vito. It was rumored that Vito killed her family to take her as his wife.

But in the few pictures available on the internet, Mercy Vitale looked mesmerized with Vito.

Sadly, she died early when Leonardo wasn’t even two years old in a freak accident. Some say it was Vito who killed his wife, but others say that Vito got back at those who were responsible for the death of his wife.

After the death of his wife, Vito became more ruthless; he respected no woman and had no morals.

Leonardo was thirty-one. If his mother died within two years of his birth, there is no way she was her mother.

Who is my mother then?

There was no list of the women who had a relationship with Vito Vitale. It was said that there were thousands as Vito never slept with the same woman twice.

In her thoughts, she fell asleep. When she woke up, the sky was darkening. She was feeling a lot better and decided to cook for Leander. She needed to clear her mind.

After cooking Leander’s favorites, she waited for him. She realized that she didn’t cry for her lost baby for a very long time.

She called Gabriella to ask about Father Patrick’s funeral. Gabriella told her that the service was good and they have laid Father Patrick to rest beside the Church.

Gabriella was surprised to learn that she didn’t talk to Lionel that day. Maybe Leander talked to Lionel after she left.

"I remembered what Father Patrick told me in the past, Gabby. Whenever I talked about avenging, he’d say that vengeance is of he Lord. I never understood it. Today..."

Viviana told Gabby what Leonardo told her. Gabriella listened to her patiently.

"Maybe I shouldn’t have taken the blade, Gabby. Leonardo probably would have killed Evander anyways. By taking everything in my hands, I’ve only dirtied mine with blood..."

"Do you regret it, Melanie?" Gabby asked, breaking the silence.

Viviana took in a deep breath. " I don’t know, Gabby. I am not sure as I did when I hurt Evander. I thought I did the right thing. But did I, Gabby?"

Gabriella didn’t say anything.

"Do you know what else Leonardo Vitale said? He said that he’s my brother. Can you believe that? I thought Evander was from the worst family, and if what Leonardo said is true, what does that make me? I too am soiled with blood in my hands. How am I different from them? I don’t know what to do, Gabby..."
