Chapter 269: She is His

Lionel was about to explain it further, but Leander waved his hand. He looked like he was in deep thought.

"Who killed your mother?" he asked.

"I always thought it was my father who killed my mother or it could be that woman he married. But... I have no proof but I think it might be a kill-for-a-kill deal," Lionel said.

This is as far as he could go to imply Peter in the death of Victoria Viceroy.

"You have no proof," Leander said. His burrows twitched as he squinted his eyes. "I’ll leave now. I don’t want to talk to you again."

Leander’s voice didn’t waver as if he had arrived to a conclusion. Lionel sighed as Leander left banging the door close. He half-expected this would be the result. Leander still trusts his grandfather. Because Peter pretends to care for Leander, he thinks that Peter is someone who wouldn’t hurt his own family.

Leander, you fool! We do not belong to a normal family. When will you see that?

Lionel opened his eyes as the door opened a few seconds later.

"You will not talk about this to anyone else, not even Brie," Leander said pointing his finger at Lionel. He then closed the door again.

Lionel sat on the couch with a deep sigh. Leander thinks Brie would talk to Bellissima about this. Only then he realized that he was still holding the letter. HE was about to stand up when the door opened again.

Leander walked in and got the letter from Lionel’s hand and turned to leave a gust of wind on his wake.

"You should read my script," Lionel said.

Lionel had a feeling that Leander was not very mad at him. He looked disoriented. He worried for Leander. He is going through a very tough time. He hoped that Leander would open up to his wife. She would support him.

Leander stared at Lionel. He then held out his hand. Lionel hid his smile and got the script and gave it to Leander.

"Sit," Lionel said.

Leander glanced at Lionel before shuffling through the pages. After reading the part Lionel guessed Leander would read, Leander threw the papers at Lionel.

"You wanted to make fiction turn real?" Leander scoffed.

He then walked out of the room. He never returned.

-----

Viviana finished dinner and waited for Leander. She had a bad feeling in her heart as it got late. She tried calling him but he was not answering.

It was almost midnight when Leander returned. He was shocked to see her waiting in the living room.

"You aren’t asleep yet? You didn’t have to wait for me. Your face looks puffed. Why aren’t you sleeping?"

"Why are you shouting at me?" Viviana pouted.

Stomping her feet, she walked upstairs. Her face was puffed because she was crying. She was waiting for him, worried knowing that he is the only person left for her. And he is shouting at her the moment he saw her.

"I knew this would happen," she mumbled. Tears streamed down her face.

She is unlovable. She knows that.

Leander let out a sigh. He was unfair to her. She knows nothing about the letter and He followed her. Hearing his footsteps, she ran up the stairs. But he caught up with her with his long legs.

He hugged her from behind. Her neck was wet with tears. He almost forgot she stores her tears in her skull.

"Did you have a bad day?" Viviana asked wiping her tears.

She was hurt by him but she forgot that he too was handling losses all around. She only focused on herself. She’s been doing that a lot lately.

It’s not fine. She needs to think about him more.

She patted his arm. "I’m sorry."

Leander took a deep whiff as he rested on her shoulder. As always, she shows him how much she cares for him. He is doubting her love for him and she is making him feel ashamed.

He carried her and brought her to their bedroom. He placed her on the bed and climbed on top of her.

"I want to take you," he grunted in her ear.

He really wanted to. He couldn’t find any other way to express his love for her. But he can’t. She can’t accept him now.

"I won’t..." he gently rubbed her belly. "But I want to, so badly..."

She was staring at him with her almond eyes that were dull. His heart skipped a beat. Is she going to blame him for only thinking about sex when she is bleeding and grieving?

He regretted voicing his thoughts in such a way. Why is he useless?

But she laughed. "Aare you feeling better now?" she held his cheek.

If he is thinking about "that" he must be feeling at least a little better.

"Maybe wait a week or so... then you can take me. For now..." Viviana smirked. "Should I help you?" She slipped her hand inside his trousers.

Leander grunted as her hand ran along his length. He wanted to say that she should rest. But he couldn’t speak as her hands pleasured her.

Hugging her, he kissed her. She slowed down, but he didn’t care. He wanted to kiss her. He wanted to merge her to him.

You’re mine, Melanie... You are mine!

-----

The next morning, they got ready for Evander’s funeral. Viviana didn’t know if it was twist of fate, but Father Patrick’s funeral was at the same time as Evander’s funeral. Gabby was already in Abenney and she told her that she would give her all the details when she returns.

"Thank you for the sunglasses. I needed it," Viviana said wearing the sunglasses Leander got for her.

Leander kissed her forehead.

She looked sickly pale and her eyes were red. The black dress didn’t help at all. He didn’t want to bring her there when she needs rest, but she insists that she comes.

He’s not going to leave her side either.

-----

Viviana walked with Leander to the Kastello family’s private cemetery. There were chairs placed and there were already a lot of people there.

The coffin that was gilded with gold and was decorated with flowers. Viviana wanted to throw up. But she controlled herself.

Leander gave her a rose to place on the coffin. She got it. Her mind went to Abenney. She placed the flower on the coffin imagining that she was placing it on Father Patrick’s coffin.

Tears rolled down her cheeks. Leander held the small of her back and let her to the chair. Sitting there, she couldn’t help but cry silently.

Rest in peace, Father Patrick.
