Chapter 241: Perfect Life

Leander’s hand shook hearing the gut-wrenching sobs of Viviana. He didn’t think that this topic brings her this much pain.

He held her chin and kissed her. He couldn’t bear to see her cry. He wanted to stop her from crying.

"Her loss," Leander kissed her more. "It was her loss to lose someone filled with love like you. And my gain..."

He kissed her until she calmed down. Viviana smiled wiping her eyes. "Do you mean it?" she asked leaning on his chest.

Is she really filled with love?

"Absolutely," Leander rubbed her back. "I wish you could see yourself the way I see you," he brushed aside the hair falling on her face.

"The way you see me...?" Viviana repeated his words. They were beautiful.

His eyes twinkled as he nodded. She reached her hand to his cheek. Those eyes... "What do you see in me?" she asked. She certainly is not special in any definition of the word.

Leander smiled. It would take an eternity to answer that question. He kissed her. "Let’s not talk about that woman anymore. You don’t need her."

Viviana nodded. It was a hard topic but she acted very unhinged with Leander. She cried extra in his embrace. She didn’t know why.

"Just like I don’t need my mother..." he said.

Viviana looked at him and he exhaled deeply looking through the window into the sea.

Viviana held his hand. His Adam’s apple bobbed and he wetted his lips. He looked hurt.

Viviana didn’t know much but she has seen how his mother treated him. She felt sad for him. At least she experienced the love of a mother through her adoptive mother.

"You have me," she hugged him.

Leander hugged her close. Closing his eyes, she took in her scent. "I know," he said. She is showing him motherly love without even trying.

All his life, he doesn’t remember anyone caring if he eats or sleeps. But she does. She makes sure he eats even if he doesn’t feel like it. She cooks for him and makes sure he has clean towels when he gets out of the shower. She dresses him and sings for him when he has nightmares.

When he is down, he knows that he can depend on her.

He’s an adult. She does not need to do all that for him. But he likes it when she does it for him.

About Tabitha Bruno... she doesn’t have to know.

He is not a mind-reader. But by the little words she said he could understand that she thinks that her mother left her because she wouldn’t be able to take care of a sick baby.

But Tabitha Bruno had every means to take care of a sick baby. She had the money. She didn’t have the heart.

If his guess is right and Helena is her twin, their mother chose the healthy baby to raise and left the other to die. How cruel was her heart?

His lovely wife doesn’t need to get hurt more knowing that her mother left her to die because she didn’t want to have the stigma of raising a sick child. She had the means to care for the sick child along with her healthy child but she chose not to. She was cruel to even deny a proper burial for her child and left the child in the mercy of strangers.

His hate for Tabitha Bruno only intensified. Helena too deserves his hatred. He remembered how his wife easily connected with Helena.

Maybe they are blood.

But the way Helena was raised by the serpent of a mother, turned her serpentine too. He should protect his wife who has the purest heart. She’d be better off as a borderline idiot than turning into cunning snakes like those women.

"Get ready!" Leander slapped her back.

Viviana kissed him holding his cheeks. She couldn’t help but smile looking at him. He was in deep thoughts some time ago. He didn’t look sad but determinant. She didn’t know what he was thinking about.

But he looked so handsome.

’What?"

Leander pushed her to the bed.

"Want some?" he kissed her.

Viviana took in the kiss. She would never get tired of kissing him. Leander left her lips and looked at her. With her eyes closed, she did want more.

He was tempted. She is a temptress. She’s been tempting him as long as he laid his eyes on her but lately...

He gulped. His throat felt like it was on fire.

"Go on!" he tickled her. "It’s getting late..."

Viviana got up with a pout. But then it hit her. "Where are you taking me?" she asked.

Leander said nothing and walked to the bathroom shaking his butt. "Jerk!" Viviana threw a pillow at him. It hit his back.

"It’s a surprise!" He chuckled doing a little dance and got into the bathroom.

After having lunch, Leander brought her to the dock.

"Another sail?" Viviana clapped in glee. She loved the sea and she won’t get bored even if she happens to live in the middle of the sea.

Leander smiled hiding the secret behind his eyes. Viviana was excited to get on the longer yacht this time. The crew welcomed them and Leander took her to the upper deck.

Wherever he takes her, Viviana noticed that Leander liked to stay in the second floor and keeps the entire floor for them. She liked the privacy.

She didn’t want to be in the sun and she sat on the lounge chair under the umbrella. Leander didn’t bother to take the other chair and sat in her chair. She gave up and ended up sitting on his lap, leaning on his firm chest.

To her surprise, he kept his hands to himself. They just chatted about this and that. By the position of the sun, Viviana figured that they were going South.

She was about to ask him where they are going, but Leander successfully distracted her by showing her the sunset.

He held her hand with his hand. Both of their rings were glittering in the setting sun. Viviana kissed his hand.

Perfect! My life is perfect!

The crew served dinner on the deck. It turned dark and Viviana looked at the bright town on a mountain at the distance.

Abenney!

Her heart skipped a beat. She looked at Leander.

What is he planning?
