Chapter 237: The Confession
Chapter 237: The Confession
"Wherever?"
Viviana asked placing her hand on his beating heart. His heart had a nice rhythm to it.
"I cannot watch you in danger," he said. His voice rumbled as a thunderclap when heard through his chest. "I’ll follow you to protect you," he added.
At that moment, she remembered Leona. Every time Leona asked her to walk to her front is when they went to unknown or dangerous places. It made sense.
She bit her lips hard as she felt guilty. The more she tried not to relate to Leander and Leona, and to not think of Leona when she was with Leander, the more she failed.
She hated herself. It probably is cheating in a broad sense.
"What if it was not a dangerous place?" she asked.
Her husband was in so much pain because of a girl in his dreams. It was her fault he was distressed. At least he won’t be distressed anymore knowing the truth.
And here she is, still doing what she was doing forever whenever they share a moment together.
Why can’t I stop? I am sorry, Leander. I am sorry I can’t control my thoughts.
Leander chuckled. "Then I’d join you or watch you enjoy yourself," he said. He was swaying slightly. She didn’t know if it was him or if it was the boat.
"I like to see you happy," he said.
She hummed. "It’s like..."
You’re in love with me... You fell for the wrong person, Leander.
Her heart skipped a beat. She didn’t want to jinx him by stating the obvious. She does not have the courage to see him leave her forever.
"Hmm?" he rubbed her back because she stopped midsentence.
"It’s better that you follow me," she said.
If that’s the case, she won’t see him leave. That was enough for her.
But...she realized how selfish she is. Didn’t Leona die because she followed her? Didn’t her parents die because they wanted to see how she was doing? Had they stayed home for dinner, they wouldn’t have died. They died because they looked for her.
"I’ll follow you," he said holding her chin to have a look of her eyes.
The sun was closer to the horizon and her eyes reflected the orange rays of the sun with a golden hue.
My light!
She shows him the path just by existing. But he saw a ripple of emotions that he was used to see in her eyes. The emotion he hated on her eyes.
"I want to tell you something, Leander..." she pressed her lips on his. It was warm. Just some minutes back, when he was sinking, his lips were cold.
It’s better he is warm.
Her heart got warm. There was a flood of emotions collecting in her chest that she couldn’t control anymore. She needed to let them out so that she could stay alive. Her heart was pounding as if it would burst any moment.
"What?" he brushed her wet hair to the side and held her cheeks. She listened to him and told him the truth. Now it is time for him to listen to her.
"I’m going to tell you this only once. I am never going to repeat it... ever..."
"What is it?" he raised one of his eyebrows. He was very curious obviously.
"You will not reply to it. Otherwise..." she looked at the open sea. "I’ll swim away to be never seen again with a broken heart that you didn’t care for my feelings. I mean it, Leo. You will never see me again."
She clenched her jaws as his hold got tighter. He was obviously not liking the words out of her mouth. His deep eyes glinted with impatience. His lips were pressed to a line.
"Promise me that you will not be reckless ever again like today... Promise me that you won’t follow me when I am in danger. Promise me and I will tell you something that I never said to any man in my life, ever..."
She pleaded with him. Promise me this one thing, Leander. Rest my heart with your words.
Leander shook his head. He was not stupid. He knew that she was going to confess. He did want to hear her heart. But that doesn’t mean he is going to make a stupid promise.
What is it even going to achieve?
"No," he said, his voice deep and firm. "Do you expect me to sit on my thumb when you are in danger?"
Viviana cowered. This tone makes her submissive. Why? She doesn’t know. She was never the confident person.
Or is it because she was actually happy that he refused this fatuous promise that she asked from him?
"I am your husband," he said pulling her up on his lap. Her eyes were rightly in front of his. Looking into his eyes, she forgot everything else for a moment.
This is the first time she hears him say that he is referring to his relation to her. Till then he mostly says that she is his wife.
"I will protect you. Even if my life is in danger, I will protect you. I love you."
Viviana’s eyes clouded with tears and she couldn’t see his eyes anymore. She only could see an orange blur in front of her as the sun was in her eyes.
He said it... I thought I could cheat fate, but he said it! What should I do?
She started to hyperventilate. It is something that causes turbulence in her heart. How can he ignore her like this?
"You cannot say it!" she wiped her eyes and pressed her hands on his mouth.
"What?" He could still speak even when she covered her mouth. Or was she listening to his eyes and not his voice?
Ah, right! He got her hands from his mouth. Her hands were frozen and she couldn’t feel them anymore. He kissed her hands.
"I love you. I love you, Melanie. I love you. I love you. I love you. How many times do you want to hear it? I love you..."
*Blank*
Viviana’s world went dark. She closed her eyes and slumped on him.
She opened her eyes to the sound of motor. Her head was throbbing as if someone was slicing it with a butcher’s knife. She was warm as she was wearing sweatpants and shirt—his shirt. Her hair was drier than it was previously.
The sky was deep blue. The sun has went down for the day. The moon was hanging high in the sky. The cabin had a mild lighting on. She could see Leander’s head in the cockpit.
She tried to sit up from the bed.
*Clang*
She felt a pull in her wrist and looked at it.
"Get me out of it!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. "What are you planning on doing with me?"
Why has he tied her wrist to the bed with a pink fluffy fur handcuff? What is he planning to do?
She was genuinely terrified.
"Oh, shut up!" he turned and scoffed at her. "Don’t cause a ruckus. We are near the docks. I don’t want you jump into the sea...that’s why..."
Viviana looked at the handcuffs with disgust.
"Get me off or I am going to scream that I saved you from drowning," she threatened.
Leander scoffed and with a smirk turned to the front as if he was not even bothered by her words. She did see that they are closer to the docks as she saw lights from other boats.
"Hear ye! Hear ye!" she screamed as loud as she could. "The lion cannot~"
Before she could even finish her sentence, Leander dashed to the bed and covered her mouth. "Shut up, idiot!" he sat beside her and covered her lips with his.
He then slipped his tongue inside her mouth. "Shout now, b*tch!" he said pulling her pants down. "I’ll take you here for everyone to watch."
Viviana couldn’t even open her eyes as his kiss got deeper. "B*tch who faints hearing my heart needs no mercy," he slipped his finger inside her womanhood.
She gasped but he covered her moan with his kisses. Viviana couldn’t even grab his shoulder as he was holding her free hand. He had long fingers and they hit a lot of her sweet spots. As if that was not enough, he pressed his thumb on her sensitive nub right at the entrance.
She arched her back and her toes curled.
"Say it," he said nobbling on her earlobe. "Let me hear you say it..."
"No," Viviana resisted.
He bit her lips hard. "You liked it when I didn’t move my hands. Why shouldn’t I return the favor?" he asked clutching the hair at the back of her head to force her to look at him.
"Still scared?" he raised his brows. "Scared of me?"
Viviana shook her head. She was scared some time ago. But now she is not scared. Although he appeared to be forceful, she didn’t feel much pain. She felt something else.
Her heart raced.
Holding the back of her head, he leaned on her to kiss her neck as his fingers thrusted inside her.
"You’re very wet inside...take me in..."
She wanted to moan loud, but she held herself back as she realized where they are.
"Let’s continue this in our room, Leander," she said.
Leander raised his brows. "Then say it," he smirked licking his finger that was slithery with her love juices. "...say what you were about to say earlier..."
