Chapter 139: For His Love

Chapter 139: For His Love

Viviana so wanted to be excluded from the drama that went on there. If she should decide, she thought Tabitha was pitiful. And she had a feeling that Leander would help her.

He should, right? He should. She is her first love. And men cannot forget their first love for life.

Viviana gulped. There was some heavy feeling rising from the bottom of her chest. What is that feeling? She didn’t like that.

"First love? Are you deluded?" Leander asked, no, he roared and his roar echoed in the restroom. Viviana looked at him with her eyes wide.

"I thought I loved her. But it was two decades ago. And she wasn’t even my first love. She was my second. I tattooed my first love on my chest. So, don’t be deluded!" he pulled Viviana to his front wrapping his arm around her, and kissed her head.

Viviana’s heart skipped a beat. His tattoo? The tattoo of Jophiel? His first love? What is he saying?

Am I his first love? Or rather... Melanie was?

She lost the strength in her legs as her knees trembled. She couldn’t process what was going on. But in a way, it makes sense.

Leander didn’t notice her reaction. He pointed his finger at Tabitha.

"Why do you think I care what happens to that woman? Why do you think that I should protect your married daughter, Tabitha? I don’t know what’s your endgame here and what you’re planning to do. There are other names for what you are trying to do, Tabitha! But I would be gracious enough to not think of this meeting again," he said and turned to leave.

"You forgot everything from the past?" Tabitha asked. "Did you even love her?"

"You want to hear it?" Leander turned.

Viviana caught a glimpse of his eyes and she saw rage. She knew whatever words he was going to say is not going to be kind. She tried to hold his hand with her other hand hoping that it would comfort him, but he was not calming down.

"I do not care what happens to Helena Palatini... Did you hear it? Did you hear it well? I don’t want to hear from you or your daughter again. And be respectful of my wife if you see her again. If I heard you mouthing off against her, I’ll tear your mouth off and parcel your head to your dear daughter," he said and walked out of the restroom, dragging Viviana behind him.

Viviana looked at Martha and she bowed her head. Viviana could only sigh. Of course, Martha would have told everything to Leander. Her heart was pounding.

She looked for Celine. But she was not anywhere. She wanted to ask Martha but she was afraid to speak. Leander still was mad. His hand was sweating and she could feel it. He was walking fast and she had to run to be on the same speed as him.

As she searched for Celine, she noticed that fedora man again. He was having a phone to his ear and his back was to her, but she could see tha the was watching them through the reflection on the golden decorative plate in front of him.

She wanted to inform Leander about that guy, but when she looked at him, he was still fuming.

"What?" he asked her.

Although his voice was gentle, she shook her head in the negative. She didn’t want to take the brunt of his anger.

He sighed. He’s been doing that a lot lately when he is around her and she couldn’t understand what that meant. But this time, he slowed down and she appreciated it.

He passed his handkerchief to her and she smiled and took a wipe from her purse. "I’m short and I can’t keep up with your long legs," she said with an awkward smile.

Leander kept his handkerchief back in his trouser pocket. "You could have said something," he mumbled.

Viviana looked at him and he didn’t look angry anymore. His eyes looked gentle. And she saw Celine peeking from behind a pillar.

"Hey, kid!" Viviana waved her.

Celine came out from the safety of the pillar.

"She..." Viviana pressed her lips. "That... she..."

"What?" Leander asked. He was annoyed. She is trying to lie. That much was obvious. Can’t she be quick about it?

"Yes!" Viviana wetted her lips and looked at Leander. "I accidentally ruined her uniform and...her bag. Her books and notes too, probably..." she added. She didn’t know how much hazing that girl endured and how much of her properties got damaged by the bullying. She wanted to help her.

"What do you need?" he asked.

Martha already told him that his bleeding-heart wife might have sensed that the two girls were bullying this other girl. So, she wants to help this bullied kid. Why can’t she say the truth?

"A couple of uniforms for her. No, three sets of uniform just in case and replace any of her damaged books and notebooks. Shoes, a laptop... and maybe a good word to her teachers about..." Viviana pressed her lips scratching the back of her hair. "I know you don’t run a social service..." she cleared her throat as she sensed his eyes turn distant.

Leander looked at Steve and nodded. Viviana looked up bowing her head. Steve nodded and called the girl to ask the details.

Wow! Just a nod from him can change the life of the kid! He’s that powerful. If only, he used that power for good all the time...

She sighed.

Celine grabbed Viviana’s hand. "Thank you, ma’am," she sobbed burying her head in her hand.

"No, no... Celine, dear..." Viviana patted her head. "No need to thank me. You should thank Kastello," she said.

Truly, she’s not doing anything. She didn’t think that Leander would listen to her. But for some odd reason, he did.

This kid should thank him.

"Thank you, sir," Celine tried to grab Leander’s hand but he dragged Leander and walked away.

He did not do that for that kid. He did that for his silly wife who only knows to lie and anger him.

And what is this weird feeling in his heart when he saw the tears of that kid? Is that gratitude in her eyes? When was the last time someone looked at him with gratitude?

And why does it make him feel good?

He turned to look at his wife stifling her smile.

How come she shows him something new each day?
