Chapter 131: Salon Visit(2)

Viviana dressed in one of those needlessly expensive morning dresses. She did feel comfortable wearing that. It had a nice silk lining and the stitching was much more refined to give the tailored look.

She understood why it is that expensive. But still, it was a little too expensive even considering everything. A good seamstress can make the same dress with the same stitching for a quarter of this price tag.

But who is she to find ways to get cheaper alternatives? It’s not her money.

She made sure she was wearing the right shoe and some jewelry. She didn’t know how the closet now has women’s jewelry. Leander must have bought them for her.

When she went downstairs, Martha and the chauffeur were waiting for her. Without any words, the chauffeur drove her to the largest high-end mall. She knew that all the international brands had their shops there. It’s the mall that only the richest of the richest would frequent.

She was not used to such luxury. And she was nervous to even step out.

This is where the wealthiest shop and she’s not even new money. She doesn’t even have a single cent to her. Well, she did bring her $90. But she didn’t think that she could even buy a coffee for that price in this place.

But everything went extremely unexpected. Before she opened the door, the door was opened for her and in front of her stood a smiling woman wearing an Armani suit skirt.

"Welcome, Signora Kastello," she smiled with the perfection of an air hostess. "I am Beulah, your personal concierge. I’ll take care of your every need today."

"Th-thanks..." Viviana smiled.

She thought only hotels had concierges. Nowadays, malls are having concierges too? And that too a personal concierge?

What the...

Viviana almost stumbled as she walked in. She knew she was making a fool of herself. But she sucked in a deep breath. She should represent Leander Kastello now. She should not be Viviana but act like Minerva Kastello.

She avoided staring at those high-end shops that exuded luxury. She didn’t want to appear like a country bumpkin who steps inside the luxurious mall for the first time.

Dignified...act dignified, Melanie... You can do it!

She struggled a bit, but she got a hold of it. With the little bag hanging on her forearm, she walked with one foot in front of the other as her red-soled shoes clacked against the marble floors.

Turns out, even luxury had levels too.

The brands she thought were "top brands" were in the two lower levels of the mall. And the brands that those Hollywood celebrities mention were on the third level.

What higher brand is there in the fourth level she wondered.

Guess, she won’t find out today. Beulah, the concierge, brought Viviana to the third floor and along with the exuberant interiors, an overpowering scent of the hair products welcomed Viviana into that salon.

Well, it looked more like a...palace—like Versailles. Gold glittered everywhere.

She felt like Queen Marie Antoinette as she sat in that cushioned chair. She was certainly not dressed as splendidly as the last queen of France, but she certainly got the urge to spend like her being in that place.

But she quickly controlled her thoughts. It’s not her money she is going to spend. She should be careful.

Martha was given a seat at the back. But she opted to stand beside her. "I was ordered to watch the stylist like a hawk," Martha spoke in a robotic voice.

She did look scary. The stylist looked annoyed, but then he had to accept it. He knew whom he is serving. He is serving the wife of a mafia heir. He will be having restrictions.

Viviana told him about the incident with her previous stylist. The hairdresser who introduced himself as Tony had no change in his expression and listened to her.

When she said that she wants to chop off her hair and he can have the freedom to choose her hairstyle, he did look a bit contemplative. She thought Leander didn’t like her to have short hair, so she said that other than boyish hairstyles, any short hairdo will do. She did prefer vintage curly styles and suggested it, but only if it would suit her face.

But more importantly, she asked for the style to be easily maintainable. She also asked for a facial—one some actress said she had that helped in rejuvenating her skin.

And so, it started.

She was given a separate cabin for her privacy and she just closed her eyes and rested. Martha was serious about watching everyone like a hawk. She didn’t sit down even to take a break.

Viviana found that she had no reason to worry.

Hours passed (possibly), and Viviana almost fell asleep for more than half of it. She only opened her eyes when the stylist told her that he is finished.

She looked at herself in the mirror. She was utterly pleased. It gave her a sense of familiarity as it reminded her of her days as an orphan. She still had some pictures from those days. Even the color matched her natural hair color.

"Thank you so much," Viviana smiled from her heart.

Touching her hair, she looked at herself in the mirror as she couldn’t keep her eyes off herself.

Will he like it though?

Her lips pouted as she thought of Leander. She hoped he liked it.

"Boss will be tongue-tied when he looks at you, Signora. You look so pretty," Martha said with a blooming smile.

Viviana patted her blushing cheeks, but she couldn’t control her grin.

Everything was finished. This would be the time for her to finish. She looked around to see if Leander had arrived.

But she couldn’t see him on the waiting couch.

"He’s not here yet?" she leaned and asked Martha.

Martha shook her head. Viviana’s heart skipped a beat. But Martha looked indifferent.

Yeah, he will surely come!

Viviana sucked in a deep breath.

"My husband will be here any minute," she said and waited.

It was then she heard a familiar voice from the next cabin.

She was shouting at someone. No surprise there!
