Chapter 393: To Another Domain

Chapter 393: To Another Domain

Clyde stepped out into the open courtyard, the cold wind brushing past his silver coat. The sky above the Ruins was dark and quiet, but the tension in the air was undeniable.

Two soldiers stood guard at the mansion’s entrance. They straightened the moment they saw him.

"I’m leaving now," Clyde said, his voice calm but resolute. "Prepare yourselves. Things are going to change soon, maybe for all of us."

The two soldiers exchanged a look. A quiet, alarmed understanding passed between them.

They didn’t ask where he was going or why. They knew, or at least, they knew enough.

They only bowed slightly and said in unison, "Understood, my lord."

None of them wanted to know more than they had to. Whatever Clyde was involved in was far above their role and their purpose. They were soldiers, not gods. And this was a war that stretched across realms.

Moments later, Asqa stepped out of the mansion. She wore a robe of silver and gold, embroidered with ancient runes that shimmered faintly under the fading light. A slender wand was strapped to her hip, and a small bag of crystal vials clinked at her side.

"I’m ready," she said simply, eyes steady.

Clyde looked at her for a moment, then gave a single nod. He reached for the amulet around his neck and channeled his magic power into it.

A hum filled the courtyard, low and deep like the growl of something ancient awakening.

Then, with a sharp pulse of power, a rift opened before them. Swirling shadows twisted into a portal, and through its unstable shimmer, the burning skies of Uriel’s Domain could be glimpsed once more.

Clyde didn’t know exactly where the higher beings meeting was being held. But Uriel’s Domain was his first step. From there, he would branch out, moving between realms, sowing chaos and tearing at the seams of their alliances.

He turned to Asqa. "Are you ready?" he asked.

She met his gaze without hesitation, her eyes looks filled with determination. "Yes."

"This will be different," Clyde said. "More dangerous than anything you’ve faced before. Stay back. I’ll be at the front. You only move when it’s safe."

Asqa gave a quick nod. "Got it."

Without another word, they stepped into the portal and vanished.

The soldiers remained behind, watching the rift close and the courtyard fall silent again.

One of them muttered, "Where is the universe heading now?"

The other just exhaled slowly and replied, "No idea. We’re just along for the ride."

They both turned their gazes skyward, toward the sky and their fate that never been feels so uncertain.

Clyde and Asqa emerged from the portal into Uriel’s Domain.

Just like before, the ground was scorched and cracked—an endless sea of burning earth and molten rivers that hissed and spit ash into the air.

The sharp and foul stench of charred flesh still lingered. Scattered across the landscape were the blackened remains of fallen corrupted soldiers, some burned to the bone by Uriel’s divine fire, others clearly cut down by Clyde’s own blade at that time.

Everything was the same. As if time itself had frozen in this desolate battlefield.

Uriel had done nothing to this domain. No restoration, cleansing, or mourning.

Clyde scoffed quietly to himself. "She must be sulking somewhere. I should’ve asked Michael if she was at the meeting too. But it doesn’t matter."

He glanced around and then turned to Asqa. "Stay close. Move carefully. This place might be quiet, but it doesn’t mean it’s safe. They already noticed about me."

Asqa nodded and kept her wand ready, her eyes scanning the scorched horizon. They moved silently across the ruined terrain, checking old paths and battlegrounds, but nothing of importance remained. No messages, signs, or traps. Just echoes of destruction.

Finally, Clyde stopped.

"We’re done here," he said. Then his eyes shifted toward the skies above. "Tell me, do you have the [Flight] skill?"

Asqa’s face lit up with a proud smile. "Yes."

Clyde gave a rare, impressed nod. "Amazing. Then let’s go."

With a flash of power, both activated [Flight]. Their bodies lifted smoothly into the air, rising above the destruction. Wind and ash swept past them as they ascended, the heat below giving way to colder, thinner air the higher they flew.

Together, they soared above Uriel’s ruined domain, heading toward its far borders.

The landscape beneath them gradually began to shift. The scorched ground gave way to shimmering light, where the boundaries between Eden blurred.

And then, they crossed the edge, leaving Uriel’s domain behind, and arrived at a corridor of shimmering gold and white.

This was Eden’s outer fringe, a neutral zone suspended in the space between Archangel domains. Now, it was too quiet.

Clyde slowed his flight, hovering. "I think we’re getting close to another domain," he said quietly.

Asqa hovered beside him, eyes wide at the surreal beauty of the place. She and Clyde had never personally crossed this place before.

The air here shimmered with magic. Giant marble structures floated in the distance, connected by bridges of light.

Yet not a single being could be seen.

Clyde narrowed his eyes. They pushed forward, deeper into Eden’s passageways.

They emerged from the far end of the shimmering corridor, the golden-white light of Eden’s fringe fading behind them as the landscape shifted once more.

The border of a new domain stretched out before them. A vast expanse of cracked earth, but nowhere near the scale of destruction Uriel had left behind.

There were still signs of battle but the ground here hadn’t been scorched clean.

Clyde hovered in the air and looked around warily. "This domain is less destructed but still broken."

"Whose domain is this?" Asqa asked.

Clyde shook his head. "Not sure. But I’m sure we will find out soon."

They flew forward, now at a slower pace, gliding cautiously above the landscape. Towers of marble and steel jutted out of the ground, most of them cracked but still standing. The air was heavier here with pressure.

Asqa had already drawn her wand, keeping it low and ready, fingers tight on the handle.

Clyde scanned the ground and sky below, his senses stretched out as far as they would go.

Then, something glinted in the distance. Clyde’s eyes sharpened. A flicker of motion. It was something fast.

Three blurs of light spears coming at them.
