Chapter 275: Strange Information
A few days later, in a grand celestial chamber suspended in the shimmering expanse of Eden, the Archangels held a meeting.
The room was vast and radiant with ceiling adorned with constellations that shifted and pulsed.
A round table made of polished gold stood at the center. Each seat was carved with intricate symbols representing its occupant’s domain and authority.
Gabriel seated gracefully with his silver wings folded neatly behind him. His expression was calm, his piercing blue eyes scanning the room. A trumpet resting by his side.
Raphael exuded warmth and serenity. His green-hued robes shimmered like forest leaves under sunlight and a staff of light rested against his chair.
Raguel radiated an aura of fairness. His crimson and gold attire was reminiscent of a judge’s robes, and his stern gaze swept across the others, ensuring decorum.
Michael sat tall and imposing as always. His golden armor gleamed and the legendary sword that had cut down legions of darkness rested at his side. Despite his stoic demeanor, there was an unmistakable glint of something unreadable in his eyes.
The chair designated for Uriel stood conspicuously empty. She had not back from the Far North guiding their troops againts the Black Wall forces.
The meeting began with Gabriel addressing the room. He spoke with his melodic yet firm voice.
"Uriel has proposed an audacious plan, to send scouts into the Black Wall to uncover its mysteries and identify a potential weakness. She believes that if we understand it, we may contain or destroy it."
There was a murmur of mixed reactions around the table.
Raphael leaned forward with a concerned expression. "Sending anyone into that place is to risky for them. The Wall defies the natural order. We only know madness and horrors beyond comprehension on it. Even our strongest concealment spells may not suffice to shield them."
Gabriel nodded, acknowledging the concern. "True, but Uriel argues that without knowledge, we will remain blind. The Wall is expanding and its influence grows more dangerous by the day. We have to destroy it as fast as possible."
Raguel spoke next with measured tone. "Uriel’s logic is correct. Justice requires action even when the risks are steep. If the Wall threatens the balance, we cannot sit idle. I support her plan, provided we choose capable individuals and equip them adequately."
All eyes turned to Michael, whose expression remained inscrutable. He rested his hand on the hilt of his sword and start speaking.
"I have reservations. The Black Wall is not just a normal threat, it is an unknown phenomena with the potential to destabilize everything. Sending scouts could provoke it or worse, alert whatever entity lies within to our intentions."
Gabriel’s gaze narrowed slightly. "Michael, do you suggest inaction?"
Michael’s golden eyes flicked toward him. "I suggest caution, Gabriel. Blindly plunging into the depths of an enemy we do not understand is stupid. If Uriel wishes to pursue this, let her take responsibility for the consequences. But I will not endorse a reckless endeavor. However, if the majority of you agree, I will say nothing."
The tension in the room thickened. Gabriel glanced around the table, noting the divided opinions.
Raphael seemed hesitant, Raguel resolute, and Michael enigmatic as ever. He let out a soft sigh.
"Then let it be noted that the council remains divided. But I will support Uriel’s initiative. The scouts will be equipped with the strongest spells and blessings we can provide. If there is a way to weaken the Wall, we must find it."
Michael inclined his head, though his expression remained unreadable. "As you will, Gabriel. Let us hope this venture does not awaken a force we cannot contain."
The meeting adjourned soon after, but the unease in their heart stayed.
As the Archangels departed from the meeting, Michael lingered for a moment, his gaze fixed on the stars above.
A mysteriouus faint smile played on his lips.

Back in the Sivagadh Fortress, Clyde stretched lazily as the soft morning light filtered through the slatted windows of his quarters. He had slept well. It should be considered a rare luxury in these chaotic times with everything that happened around them.
Rising from his bed, he took a moment to enjoy the stillness before heading to the small bathroom.
The cold water was bracing as he washed up, shaking off the last trace of his sleep.
After cleaned and refreshed, Clyde dressed quickly and made his way to the cafeteria.
The fortress was bustling with its usual morning activity—fighters and workers moving between their duties, the clatter of cutlery and murmured conversations filling the air.
He grabbed a simple breakfast of bread, eggs, and water and found a quiet corner to sit and eat.
As he finished his meal, he noticed two familiar figures making their way toward him through the crowd. They were Samuel and Leyan.
Clyde had worked alongside them several times and their presence always promised something interesting, or dangerous.
Samuel had a faint smirk on his face as he pulled out a chair across from Clyde. His dark hair was tied back and his scarred hands rested on the table. Leyan the Elf, followed, his sharp eyes scanning the room before settling into the chair beside Samuel.
"What is it?" Clyde asked, setting his coffee mug down and looking at them.
Samuel’s smirk turned serious. "We just got some information. Something weird’s happening at one of the Ruins."
Clyde frowned, his interest piqued. "What do you mean?"
Leyan leaned in and said. "An anomaly appeared. Monsters with blackened skin and strange mutations. All of them came from a strange energy that suddenly manifested there."
The description sent a jolt through Clyde’s mind. Blackened monsters and strange energy? It sounds strange.
He rubbed his chin, thinking. "And you want to check it out?"
Samuel nodded. "Yeah. Whatever this is it’s not normal. Could be dangerous. Could also be something we can use. And we want you to come with us."
Leyan added, "Your skills might be what we need."
Clyde didn’t hesitate. His curiosity had been ignited and if the anomaly held any solution of his search for power, he needed to see it for himself.
"Alright," he said, finishing the last sip of his coffee and standing. "Let’s gear up and head out."
The three exchanged a brief no. Then they made their way to their respective destiny.
Clyde going back to his quarter and wearing his black coat. Under it was armor crafted from a unique blend of materials Hammer had perfected few months ago, lightweight but durable enough to withstand extreme conditions.
His armor fit in his body, each plate shaped to move with his body, offering protection without sacrificing agility. The Elderglass Sword hung at his waist.
In the armory, Samuel and Leyan preparing their own gear. Samuel’s spear was strapped securely to his back and he donned light yet reinforced armor suitable for his quick and aggressive combat style. That armor also recently created by Hammer.
Leyan adjusted the straps of his leather armor and inspected his twin daggers, bow and arrow meticulously and nodded in satisfaction.
About half an hour later, the three were ready.
As they walked toward the center of the fortress, Clyde glanced at the two of them. "So, just the two of you this time? Don’t you usually work in a party of five?"
"Yeah, Kei, Haru, and Kiara are tied up with something. Some emergency scouting mission near the western boundary. It’s just us this time."
"Shouldn’t be a problem," Leyan added. "We’ve handled worse, and you’re with us now."
Clyde nodded. He wasn’t concerned. His power often made him more than a match for most threats. Still, he respected Samuel and Leyan’s abilities. They wouldn’t be here if they couldn’t hold their own.
The bustling streets of the fortress gave way to the expanse of the central city.
The towering structures of ancient and modern design stood side by side. Beings from countless parallel worlds moved about—Elves, Dwarves, reptilian Drakonids, and even shimmering spectral figures that floated like living mist.
At the heart of the plaza the archway made of polished stone, engraved with glowing runes stood.
Samuel approached the control pedestal beside it and withdrew a small artifact from his pouch. The artifact gleamed with a soft blue light as he placed it into the portal, and the runes on the portal lit up in response.
"Coordinates are set," Samuel said, his voice steady. "This will take us near the anomaly. From there, we walk to the Ruin."
The portal flared to life, a swirling vortex of light and energy forming within the archway. They stepped forward.
"Let’s see what’s waiting for us," he said, his voice calm but charged with anticipation.
Without hesitation, the three stepped into the portal, the world around them dissolving into a kaleidoscope of light.
Moments later, they emerged into a desolate expanse with jagged ruins scattered across a barren plain.
The sky above was overcast, streaked with veins of red and black that pulsed.
The air was thick with a strange energy, almost suffocating in its intensity. They didn’t feel something like this before.
Clyde could feel it brushing against his skin.
